[Derek shifts on the small mattress but his eyes fluttered open to feel something beside him. His eyes open slowly, taking in the interior of what looked to be a community centre. His eyebrows furrow and he shifts in the bed to roll over and see someone beside him. His eyes widen and he inhales sharply, but tries not to wake the other male. Thankfully he still had his clothes on, and his head was pounding.

From what he could make out was that they were on the floor of the community, on a mattress.]

[It was entirely innocent. Really. He'd gone into her room one night with junk food to watch some more of The Osbornes and he'd fallen asleep.

Of course, right now he doesn't remember that. All Peter knows is that it's morning. The bed is warm and he doesn't want to get up. He yawns into his pillow, pulls the blanket over his head and curls up a little. That's when he realizes there's someone else in bed with him. His eyes shoot open and he starts scrambling backwards, assessing the situation. He's got clothes on. Yup! Clothes are good. He's got on a pair of sweats and a tank top. Nice. Okay. Awesome. The situation is looking up.

He puts a hand over his eyes, peeks through his fingers and lifts the blanket up. Awesome. Charlie has clothes on. Okay. So there's a tiny bit of disappointment. He is a teenage boy, but he is a teenage boy who values his life so mostly there's relief that Charlie has clothes on.]

Uh...Charlie?

[His voice breaks a little.]

This is like the best thing that has happened to him. Let's forget that Stiles has no idea how she actually got into his bedroom, because really, in the small scheme of things, it doesn't matter.

All that matters is that she is currently curled up in his covers, sleeping.

And because Stiles isn't quite sure what to do (he doesn't want to look creepy, and he doesn't want to scare her), he moves to sit down in his rolling chair, tugging it a bit closer to the bed.

And picks up some random book (The Crack Up), to pretend he is reading. Yep. Yep. Completely cool.]

[ Dreams are effectively dull things he has little use for. Now, meditation, lucid unconsciousness, tapping into the sub with the same efficacy and precision that he normally used his conscious mind for, and taking the time to never stop thinking. It was one of the reasons that he tended to wake up quickly, having been thinking all night long in his sleep regardless.

Just before he woke up this morning, however, he was immediately hit with a wave of pain - cut, right arm, three inches, not gash; bullet hole, clear through, calibre unknown, intercostal muscles along left side - and the unusual notion that he didn't quite remember the evening before. That spoke to some sort of brain trauma, unless his would be adversaries had managed to knock him unconscious and then chose to give him very glancing wounds. Hardly.

So, not a full picture, and this was clearly not his room. He didn't know whose room this was - even unconsciously he registered movement nearby, so it must have been theirs. He assumed.

Pain in check and with a reasonably sure feeling as to what he was going to encounter upon waking up, he allowed his mind to do so, opening his eyes and squinting a little at the light. Some things there's not much you can do. ]

[ this is what people who don't have anything in common do. it's not cuddling, man! it's just ... he's had a really hard time trying to stay awake with fez's bullshit and eric's whining and kelso's dumbassery that it's rubbed off on him to the point where he's let himself fall asleep in jackie's bed.

okay, he's a massive douchebag for continuing to deny it. he'll never admit that hanging out with jackie is more fun than hanging out in the basement with nothing to do. she makes him smile when no one else does. and she might have a high-pitched voice that makes his ears want to bleed, but there's something about jackie that doesn't irk him. and sleeping in her bed, rather than his shitty cot, doesn't quite irk him, either. even if it might be surrounded by unicorns literally or in one of his nightmares. being with jackie kind of makes it all go away.

god, he's such a forman.

she'd left early during the day, he knows, while he'd paid his weekly visit to the physician. she'd smiled, kissed him goodbye on the cheek when he'd left, but she hadn't been there to greet him upon his return. worried for her, still so much a little girl in a foreign city not her own, he'd searched, but she hadn't been anywhere to be found. and perhaps, she hadn't wanted to be.
