Winter had to admit that it was strange to see Han out of his normal attire, not that he didn't look handsome in what he was wearing though he did look uncomfortable in the clothing but at least he wasn't stuck in the white dress uniform that all the other high ranking pilots were sporting.

"I guess it is because this dinner is a little more personal to myself and her Highness as well as political, these are delegates from New Alderaan." A planet that now housed the few that were off planet when The Empire destroyed the original Alderaan. "I just want everything to be perfect for what is left of our citizens."

It's strange for him to be out of his normal clothes. Han's style has nothing to do with what's chic and everything to do with what's practical. Since he couldn't really come in what he'd be comfortable in, he prefers the formal tunic to the military formal dress. He's not keen on being in uniforms of any kind anymore.

... he's not going to admit that he forgot why he came to this dinner, but the rationale made it obvious. Winter was a friend of Leia's from way back. Of course, this was about Alderaan. His wife would never say as much, but the loss of her home was so very hard on her. He certainly wouldn't need to tell the Lady that it's an important cause for Leia too ...

Han's look softens and he makes a gentle touch to her arm. It might not be perfectly proper in terms of etiquette, but everybody knows that General Solo was raised among the simple folks and the have nots. It's meant to be sympathetic. His voice a gentle murmur, "she'll be here very soon."
