Draco wouldn't say that he was strict, as things went. He was fairly lenient, actually. Maybe just in comparison to his own father, or his father's father, but there was still a precedent for being a hell of a lot more harsh with his son than he actually was. But when Scorpius was pushing three hours later than he said he'd be, that was sort of cause to be a little more strict. So yes, the doors were locked, but Scorpius was capable of unlocking them if he was really so inclined.

But that would also involve opening the door. And behind door number one was his father, who had stayed up to wait for his return, and was looking none too pleased as he leaned against the wall, arms crossed over his chest and his mouth pursed in a disapproving line.

[OK so Gerome has like no taste, but even he thinks most of this stuff is pretty cool. He's been to several village markets somewhat recently on errands for the army, and he definitely hasn't seen any artistic metalwork quite like this. There's even an intricately designed wyvern, which Gerome stops to gape at. It has a skeletal build with beautiful black wings spread wide that glisten majestically in the late morning sun, and tiny bits of sharpened silver for each tooth and claw.

Each piece is similarly amazing, though, utilizing a diverse gamut of metals and a full palette of steely colors and tones. The stand is operated by an old, friendly looking couple, and there's a small sign indicating that everything is being sold at half price. Sadly, it makes sense. Since the appearance of the Risen, money — with the increased safety and welfare that came with it — had grown scarcer and scarcer.

Regrettably, Gerome doesn't think there's much they can do to help. The army is on its own budget, and even the smallest of these pieces would be cumbersome to have on the march. Hard to say if his shopping partner will agree, though. He glances towards Severa, attempting to gauge her reaction.]
