For most people, the lines between platonic and romantic are very clearly drawn. Not true for you two; friendship and romance intermingle in your relationship, and to be honest, it's hard to discern where one ends and the other begins. You're bosom buddies. There's a spark between you. You're lovers, too, maybe, or it could be completely innocent. You're love interests. You're intimate, you're close, you're ride or die. You don't understand why romantic and platonic can't coexist. You don't need labels.
HOW TO PLAY

- RNG for a prompt or choose your own.
PROMPTS
- Since Forever: You've always been friends, ever since you were young, so this closeness is an outgrowth of that.
- Natural Connection: Some people just click. You guys go together like peanut butter and jelly.
- Love Everyone: At least one of you is the type to shower love and affection on everyone you meet.
- No More Darkness: They drug you out of your not-so-pleasant path, so you cling to them.
- Owe Them Everything: You owe them a solid. You're now more than simple friends.
- No Big Deal: You don't understand romance as separated from friendship.
- Cultural: Your culture doesn't discern so heavily between "lover" and "friend," a la troll society in Homestuck.
- Closeness: Hugs, cuddles, and kisses, oh my!
- All My Secrets Away: They know everything about you and can be there if you need help.
- The Most Important Person: They're not merely a special person to you, they're The Person.
- UST: Just because your relationship is unconventional doesn't mean there can't be a few unresolved issues, can it?
- Intimacy: More like Friends with Benefits.
- Feel More Comfortable with You: So, you kinda want to try this whole sex thing. May as well do it with the one you trust implicitly.
- No One Understands Me Like You Do: In general, not many get you. But this person does and it's such a relief.
- Don't Let Me Be Misunderstood: Why do people keep thinking you're a couple? Okay, by some definitions, you are, but these guys are trying to limit you!
- Assisted Romance: One of you has a crush on someone outside the duo. The other is supportive...and wants to give some tips.
- Want to Be More: You want to actually be official and exclusive.
- Jealousy: All the attention your - well, not partner - sort-of-significant-bff has been giving other people really raises your hackles.
- Unspoken: You two don't have to speak or say anything about your status; you know what you are.
- Say You Love Me: ...still, you wouldn't mind hearing the l-o-v-e word.
- Realization: The person you want to be with forever, maybe even in a completely romantic context, is right in front of you.
- Bros Before Hos: You won't pursue or engage with someone outside the twosome because it bothers your special someone.
- Upgrade: You've decided to renegotiate the terms of your relationship.
- Romantic/Platonic Life Partners: No matter what happens, you guys are content to continue on as you are, even to life partner levels.

[He was actually shocked. He hadn't expected Hanzo to offer. It seemed like he didn't want anyone to get close or touch his things. Yet, here he was handing it over like it was no big deal. Jesse took off his sarape before he took it from Hanzo. He had a feeling the familiar wool garment would get in the way if he kept it on.]
You're gonna have to guide me because the last time I handled one of these things I was knee high to the grasshopper and it was plastic. The arrow had a little suction cup on the end.
[Jesse tried to stay relaxed for Hanzo, not tense up but it was a little difficult now that he was aware that Hanzo was pretty nice to look at. Suddenly this felt a little more intimate, a little more private between the two of them in a way it might not have felt before when he was blissfully ignorant.
Well damn. Age hadn't made him any smarter.]

This is most certainly not plastic.
[ While Hanzo tended to take most things in English too literally he none the less dived right into the lesson without further delay. Albeit with some hesitation as he moved behind McCree. Height was an obvious disadvantage for him where it had not been for McCree. He was at least glad for it that McCree did not have to see him stand on his toes. ]
Kyūdō is its own discipline you must let go of any preconceived notions of archery.
[ Between the long-winded tangent Hanzo set loose about proper form and breathing techniques down to micromanaging how McCree set his fingers over the grip and bowstring he never once had his hands off the man. ]
I think you are ready to try.
[ Hanzo said, despite one hand on McCree's prosthetic elbow with his other on his natural forearm. All the while pressed against him and looking over his shoulder, straining his neck enough that he nearly had to rest his chin there. ]

[That was the last words he got in for awhile as Hanzo went through explaining every little detail of how to draw, aim and fire the bow. The way Hanzo spoke it was almost a religious experience each time he took a shot. Jesse had no idea it was that involved.
He felt pretty stupid when Hanzo was done. Even his Deadeye shot didn't seem that complicated, though he couldn't ever explain the trance like state he went in for that trick.
It also didn't help the man was all over him, hands and body. His explanation was a fairly good distraction but there was no ignoring that warmth against his back and the point of his chin against his shoulder. And he was suppose to draw and make a good shot like this? Sure.]
You and I think a little differently.
[But he tried all the same. Jesse pulled the bow back, straining against the draw weight which explained why Hanzo had the massive arms and shoulders he did. It was so much easier to pull a trigger. At least he was drawing the bow with his prosthetic hand. He kept a firm grip on the string even when he felt the strain in his arm.
The arrow didn't really go straight. It went and clattered to the ground down the range, sliding to a stop instead of landing firmly in anything.]

[ That comment had been said more between his teeth and under his breath than aloud. Hanzo have given McCree no opportunity to say much before flying into this stopgap lesson. When McCree had pulled the shot, Hanzo held his breath as he felt the whir of machinery and the tight shift of muscle move with the bowstring as the arrow sailed.
Before it clattered on the floor short of its mark. Hanzo, his hands coming to rest on McCree's forearms above where skin met prosthetic, did not seem too surprised. ]
Your form could use work but you always were more of an instinctual fighter than a methodical one which is not necessarily a weakness.

[He lowered the bow and now there wasn't really any reason for them to stand like this and yet here they still were with Jesse not complaining a lick. The skin around his prosthetic was very sensitive and he was incredibly aware of Hanzo's hand.]
The right hands for the right tool. This one belongs to you, darlin'.
[Given the way they were pressed together Jesse couldn't help the nickname. It just slipped out without thought.
If Hanzo wanted him to give up the nickname he would have to step back and give him some space so Jesse could get his head on straight again. It was hard to think properly when he had the warmth and weight of him against his back.]
no subject
And that damned nickname this time around Hanzo did nothing to correct. McCree could have looked over his shoulder but already Hanzo was looking stolidly at the floor. Americans seemed to take broken eye contact as rude - or worse deferential. So, he adjusted. Accommodated.
I speak perfectly plain if you listen. ]
There is more wisdom in that than you would give yourself credit for, Jesse.
[ The name still sounded odd when he said it but for right now he knew he wasn't thinking clearly. He couldn't haven been. Hands loose on McCree's shoulders and forehead against the other man's back what else was he but insane. ]

[What the hell were they doing?
Jesse didn't have a good answer. He wasn't shooting. Hanzo wasn't teaching. They were standing here and it felt a damn bit like Hanzo was holding him. He wasn't doing anything to end it either.
He was a little scared to let go of the bow and reach for Hanzo. He still remembered how Hanzo had jumped when he reached for the scarf in his hair. If he reached for him now would he react the same? Jesse didn't want to take the risk and scare him off.
But, the want to reach for him burned through Jesse real bad. There was no real denying it now. He had it bad for Hanzo. Just like a fool would.]

Not wanting to break the spell by saying anything he could later regret, Hanzo wordlessly removed the hat and gently crowned it back on the head it belonged to. Then slowly, as though he shared McCree's worries of scaring the other off, Hanzo took a step back. Not far but enough distance between them for McCree to turn around. Should he want to. ]

Mighty fine, Hanzo.
[Whether he was talking about the bow or Hanzo himself, well that was a mystery. At least it was something Jesse was keeping that to himself. He had to sort it out for himself too.]
