[it started after the interhigh, a weird sort of feeling that left shinkai a lot more irritated and snappish with a certain climber than he'd usually be. well, to be fair, it really started in earnest once he'd formally rejoined the cycling team and got to hear about stupid fanclubs all the time. it just got worse after the interhigh.
all the focus on makishima had been well and good when it seemed like he was just being a little over invested in a rivalry. now though, toudou was acting like it had been his girlfriend to move out of the country without telling him. and for some reason, that really really really just did not sit well with the sprinter.
so, because he was so cool and mature, shinkai decided he might as well try being direct and clearing the air before he ended up flying out to england himself and punching "maki-chan" for making his life so needlessly tiresome.
it was with that and mind that he decided to wait by toudou's clubroom locker that afternoon, arms crossed over his chest and trying to look casual. he may have seemed almost as aloof as usual, but there was definitely an air of not having time for anybody's shit today.]

[seeing kisumi happens more often than it used to. it started with the visit in high school, and the connection through makoto and hayato. haruka went to practices, and while he waited for makoto, he would spend time with kisumi. it's been a couple summers of this; and haruka's been training hard, too, needing the pool every time he's in town.
[he can't say his comfort level has gotten any worse with kisumi, as much as he'd like to say he wants him to go away. he just... doesn't. kisumi is the only person in the world that doesn't know him inside out that he can feel like this around. there's mystery mixed into the familiarity, and kisumi's unpredictability is something he treasures.
[right now, he's in the balcony, sitting and waiting. kisumi's always here on sundays. always. and practice starts in five minutes.]
