MINOR INJURIES MEME

You or your meme partner has been hurt, but don't worry! This time around it's not that bad. You can still limp your way out of this mess.

INJURIES.
1. Sprain/strain. How did you screw up walking?
2. Broken bones. Simple fractures still hurt.
3. Cuts. Hopefully one of you has a sewing kit.
4. Burns. Location, location, location. Let's pray this one isn't on your ass.
5. Concussion. No, they're most likely not holding up fifteen fingers.
6. Other. I'm not a doctor.

HOW'D IT HAPPEN.
1. Stupidity. You did this to yourself.
2. Accident. Is an unintentional attack still an attack?
3. Attack. Don't lie, you deserved it.
4. Other. It's probably still your own fault.

WHERE'D IT HAPPEN.
1. Home. Did you remember to invest in a first aid kit?
2. School/Work. This should be excellent for getting you out of doing stuff!
3. Outdoors. Predators like the smell of blood. Clean up asap.
4. In the water. Hopefully there aren't any sharks!
5. Other. Like a hospital. That'd be handy.

"Heh heh...you'd carry me?" Because that's the important thing to pick up on here.

He leaned on Hanzo unwittingly. "I trust ya to take me home. You're a gentleman, aren't ya?" He tried to give Hanzo a playful smile but it gave off more flirty than he intended.

"You weigh the same as a bunch of rice sacks and are just as useful right now."

Which was a roundabout way to say that yes, Hanzo would carry him to safety if McCree couldn't walk anymore. The other man was taller than him but he could still do it. Jesse joking and focusing on him was a good thing, Hanzo couldn't let the man feel unconscious without properly checking his injury. When he spoke again his voice had lost his sharp edge, and he started to walk and drag Jeese along.

"You doubt me? Honor is not a joking matter, of course I'd be a gentleman."

"I'm better than some bags of rice." Jesse stumbled through twinkling stars, holding onto Hanzo a little tighter as he relied on him to get him through the lights. It really was like swimming, his movements slow and lazy rather than his typical proud stride.

He didn't even notice Hanzo's voice softening but pressed against his side for the firm, steadyness of his presence. "You're all about that honor thing, ain't ya? I like that. Even if it makes ya too serious."

[personal profile] goodbyenoon 2016-08-02 11:05 pm (UTC)(link)

"Debatable." Hanzo's lips turned backward but he was clearly faking the annoyance. "I'm not too serious, just the right amount."

He guided them towards the forest, down to the south when the nearest safe house was, hidden behind some fake ruins that no one would think about checking twice. Had he been alone, Hanzo would have run to the shelter, jumping over trees and rocks on the way.

With McCree injured, he was forced to go much slower and keep a better eye on their surroundings. He frowned to himself when he realized that there was no way he could fire his bow if he had to keep the other man upright.

"I'm going to need your gun."

"I need that." It was his gun. Thankfully the flashes in front of his eyes were dimming, making him stand up straighter and try to pull away from Hanzo; and nearly tripping over a root as he wasn't watching where he was going yet.

"You got your bow, use that Mr. Robin Hood. I can walk on my own." Logic had evidently taken a backseat to the concussion.

[personal profile] goodbyenoon 2016-08-03 10:15 pm (UTC)(link)
"I can't use my bow with one hand and I'm not leaving you on your own so you walk into a tree or fall off a cliff. We lost enough time already."

Hanzo moved both arms around McCree's waist, this time, to kept him from falling on his face. He looked irritated but he did not ask for the other's man's weapon again. The archer knew there was a very slim chance that Jesse would have agreed to that, a man's weapon was like his own life, Hanzo understood that.

"No, you can not." He tried to give Jesse on the right direction, towards the safehouse. " I have a tanto but it's not going to help us a lot if someone shoot at us from a distance. So if I yell 'duck' just do it."

Jesse at least yeilded and took to Hanzo's directing, a bit like a weary horse. He focused on the ground so he wouldn't trip over again; which meant that he was casually walking into low hanging branches and narrowly avoiding tree trunks.

"M'fine, it's just all these darn trees messing me up. I'll be right as rain, don't you worry." Regardless he leaned into Hanzo again.

[personal profile] goodbyenoon 2016-08-04 12:14 am (UTC)(link)

The leaning into him got the archer to tense up, feeling his cheeks burn. This was the closest he had been to Jesse in all they time they had known each other -admittedly, not a lot- and Hanzo reminded himself it was only for the sake to keep the cowboy upright. His only comfort was that McCree had been looking at the ground and was probably missing the blush.

In took them almost ten minutes to reach the safe-house, something that embarrassed Hanzo to the core. If his ancestors knew he was being so slow and sloppy on a mission they would probably disown him again. either way, they were finally safe and Hanzo gave Jesse's waist a squeeze.

"I need to unlock security door and check the perimeter, rest against the ruins for a second."

Given his current confusion, Jesse didn't notice anything 'off' about Hanzo's behaviour or the blush. He didn't really notice the time either, only really aware of their movement and Hanzo's warm, steady presence at this side. Pleasant enough if you asked him.

"I can stand." He gave Hanzo a lazy smile, straightening up - and leaning on a nearby pillar, despite his claim. He even rested his head against it, exposing his neck and hooking a thumb in his belt. "You go check around, I ain't going nowhere without ya." Whether that was finally some logic cracking through or some sentimentality, his tone didn't give it away.

[personal profile] goodbyenoon 2016-08-04 11:48 pm (UTC)(link)
Hanzo didn't say anything about Jesse's immediate reply because he would have made the same claim if he had been the one injured, he was willing to cut McCree some slack. He let out a huff, face still serious. For Hanzo's standards, that was practically like smiling at Jesse's words.

Once he was absolutely sure the man was not going to fall to the ground, Hanzo disappeared from the view, jumping out of sight and on top of some ruins. He came back after a few minutes, certain no one had followed them or could track them down. After unlocking the door he turned towards McCree and reach out for here.

"Come here, time to go inside so I can check your wound."

I have no idea how long concussions are meant to last :x

[personal profile] fanthehammer 2016-08-07 05:31 pm (UTC)(link)
Hanzo pushed off the pillar lazily, walking into the door with a tip of his hat. It took him a moment to register the various pieces of inventory inside, finally pulling up a chair and taking a seat. He rested his head in his head, elbow on the rickety little table with a small radio propped up on it.

After that he watched Hanzo, letting his thoughts wander. In his current state, he wasn't doing great at disconnecting the thoughts in his head from his facial muscles, resulting in him giving Hanzo a half-lidded look as he thought about the other man.

A real serious one? 7 to 10 days. But we can say McCree only got a light one

[personal profile] goodbyenoon 2016-08-07 09:09 pm (UTC)(link)

McCree was still moving slowly and having some balance problems but there were no signs of nausea and he could remember new information. Hanzo would have been more worried if that had happened.

He gave McCree a brief once over before tinkering with the radio and sending a message to the rest of the team using a safe frequency. He looked back at Jesse just in time to catch the tired look on his face.

"Ey...you still with me, cowboy?"

Being confused for a week D: ...wait that's just my life

[personal profile] fanthehammer 2016-08-07 09:28 pm (UTC)(link)
"Sure am." He drawled, apparently quite content to just watch Hanzo sleepily. His thoughts were still flowing like syrup, slow and sticky. Mostly he was thinking about Hanzo's sharp features, the regal elegance and superiority he carried himself with even in battle.

"You're like a dragon, aren't ya?" He mumbled, brain to mouth filter failing him. "All power and beauty and all that. Ya got a hoard of treasure anywhere?" Maybe that's why he could summon dragons, if he was one or a bit of one himself. It made Jesse wonder what sort of animal he'd end up calling upon if he could do such a thing.

Haha well it's more like being sick-ish, dizzy and tired

[personal profile] goodbyenoon 2016-08-07 10:18 pm (UTC)(link)
The ex-assassin had been called powerful before, it came with his job, but this was the first time the word 'beautiful' was throw in his direction. He knew that the cowboy probably didn't mean anything by it but the casual tone still made his ears turn slightly pink. He turned sharply, busying himself looking for a medical kit before answering.

"No. I do not have many possessions, the most valuable one is my bow. Besides, Asian dragons do not guard treasures typically."

Once he found the kit and inspected its contents, Hanzo grabbed the antiseptic and a clean cloth and turned towards McCree. He wanted to give the wound a good look and clean it if it was matted with blood. While he didn't bother asking Jesse for permission first, Hanzo kept talking to keep McCree distracted.

"Eastern dragons are connected to the sky, they guard tombs and allow those who perish to ascend to the heavens after death. Your dragons...seem to guard treasures for the sake of doing so."
fanthehammer: (hatandserapeman)

Tired and weak brain-to-mouth filter is what I'm going with here :x

[personal profile] fanthehammer 2016-08-07 11:07 pm (UTC)(link)
"I don't get it either." He leaned into Hanzo's touch, only hissing a little at the antiseptic's sting. His gaze flicked to Hanzo's tattoo, following it down his arm. "Think I prefer your dragons though. Makes me think of them viking angels, the women who take fallen warriors to their resting place or something like that."

If he was more coherent he'd be talking about the valkyrie and Valhalla - he had asked Angie about her suit and it led to that little lesson.

"Wonder what animal would come firing outta my gun if I had powers like yours." He rumbled, closing his eyes to let Hanzo do what he was doing with him.

Sounds good 83 a recipe for disaster and fun too

[personal profile] goodbyenoon 2016-08-07 11:50 pm (UTC)(link)
"Almost done, don't act like a child."

The injury didn't look too bad, just a minor cut that would heal on its own without the need of stitches. The hit on itself would have been the worse part, and once McCree had a few hours or a day of rest he should be as fine as ever. Hanzo had a lot of practice taking care of unfortunate injuries, people like him couldn't afford to go to hospitals, it would be too risky.

His hand faltered for a mere second when McCree complimented his dragons. Instead of saying anything and risking embarrassing himself, Hanzo gave the question a serious thought.

"A wolf. They represent freedom, sharp intelligence and deep connection with instincts. Also awareness of the importance of social connections, like family." And Hanzo liked wolves too, sue him.

[personal profile] fanthehammer 2016-08-08 10:25 am (UTC)(link)
"A wolf? That mean all that nice stuff you just said was about me too?" He opened his eyes, smiling. He didn't often get praise from Hanzo, so he was anticipating some kind of snappy comeback. It was how they worked.

"I meant what I said about you being like a dragon. All regal and deadly. Always been glad I never been on the recieving end of them, they'd eat me alive." Although he had been on the receiving end of a few glares, he could survive those. Those blue, glimmering dragons, jaws open wide and rushing forward like a crashing river to devour.

"What's it feel like when you call em?"

[personal profile] goodbyenoon 2016-08-10 09:53 pm (UTC)(link)
And Hanzo, of course, didn’t disappoint.

“Fishing for praise is undignified.” He did not deny that he meant all that about McCree, though. His eyes lingered on Jesse's smile for a second too long before he forced himself to look away and focus on finishing the task at hand. Hanzo's face lacked the usual stern look he so often shown whenever people were around. He didn't really get praised all that often and he thought he didn't need it but it was still nice to receive it.

"It's hard to explain. They feel powerful, of course, and warm. But it's a bit more than that, they make good companions. They also leave me really tired."

Which was not something he usually shared. Genji knew how much energy took to summon the spirit dragons but it wasn't a weakness they spoke about to others.

[personal profile] fanthehammer 2016-08-10 10:34 pm (UTC)(link)
"Just means anyone else would be flat on their ass trying to call 'em." Jesse reasoned. He knew Hanzo wouldn't appreciate any sort of pitying or sort of supportive remark. Reminding him that nobody else could summon two huge dragons to sweep across the battlefield seemed like the right thing to do.

He liked the soft look on Hanzo's face. It was so rare to see him with his gaurd down. "I ever tell ya that you're handsome? Cos ya are. But what dya mean about them being companions?" His thoughts were still a little mixed and his brain to mouth filter wasn't working right.

[personal profile] goodbyenoon 2016-08-10 10:57 pm (UTC)(link)
Definitely was the right thing to do. It got a small smile out of the Japanese man when he looked down at the cowboy. Hanzo might be fighting to restore his honor but he was very much a prideful man. He liked to think McCree's comments were sincere too. When the praise change from his abilities to his looks unexpectedly, however, Hanzo blinked and stammered a reply out of sheer confusion.

"I...no, it's not something I hear often." Mostly he heared yelling in his direction whenever he showed up somewhere. Yazukas didn't stop shooting to tell you how pleasant to the eyes they might find you. Hanzo took a step back after he was finished checking the injury and left the antiseptic and cloth on the table.

"I've been alone for over 10 years. I got nothing and no one, they were the only ones keeping me company."

He wasn't sure why was he telling McCree so much about his life. Maybe he was feeling lovely again or the scare he got when he saw Jesse fall after being hit really got to him. Part of Hanzo hoped the man wouldn't remember this conversation due to the head injury.

It was a mighty shame that people didn't say more nice things to Hanzo. At least in Jesse's opinion. He looked so good when he smiled or even when he just wasn't scowling away.

"Man, I woulda liked some company the years I spent alone." He lifted his head and slouched back, mind wandering. "But you ain't alone anymore. Ya got...well right now it's just lil ol' me, but everyone else too! And even if the others aren't always nice then I certainly like ya."

Well, that could be taken several ways. It didn't bother Jesse though, since he meant it in several ways. He tipped his hat to Hanzo. "Reckon I owe ya for this, don't I?"
