Long-Distance Relationship Meme a romantic relationship between two people who live far apart and so are unable to meet on a frequent basis. What to do if the person you're with...isn't with you? They could be living a town over, across the world, or even across the universe. However, living with you may not be off the table for them; instead, it possibly could be a time to time affair. Most of the time, though, they're off somewhere else and quite busy: working hard to advance their career, playing with their band, leading a revolution, whatever their passion of choice may be. And on that note, you're determined to do your best and make this work, despite how much you have to rely on any sort of communication aside from face to face. Of course, what this all means is that you've got to make up for lost time and make every second you do have when they drop by count. What exactly that entails is up to you. Romance? Fun? Sex? Just being close or hanging out together? In your almost constantly parallel lives, any intersection is good enough. You know what to do. When BB-8 and the deserter named Finn ran into their lives, they brought the First Order's wrath with them, and Blink could not have been more excited. Rey, for her part, took a lot more convincing. Blink understood; Rey was still waiting for her mysterious parents to return. Finally, with the revelation that Rey was Force-sensitive, it looked like she and Blink were going to go out and have all kinds of space adventures with the Rebellion.

But Rey needed to be trained as a Jedi. That meant she had to find somebody named Skywalker. Jedi couldn't have attachments, so Blink couldn't go with Rey. It was heartbreaking. For as long as she could remember, she and Rey had been inseparable. Now they had to be content with being star systems apart and communicating through brief transmissions.

Blink kept herself busy training to be a pilot. It was an interesting profession, and she was hoping to get her own ship one day and fly off to where Rey was training. But for now, she had to be patient.

And then one day, Blink received a holo-message from Rey. She played it, tearing up as her beloved's face resolved into view.

Tony had honestly thought he was protecting his partner's six when he went to her apartment. He didn't mean for things to get so physical and he certainly didn't mean for Michael to end up dead. He trudged home from Isreal, battered, both emotionally and physically and just plain sad.

No one could understand what he needed, save for one person, and that person is not here. He sighed heavily has the door shut, and he blindly trudged to the bedroom, stripping as he went, not giving a damn at the moment about the mess. His last thought before he flaceplanted into bed was that he would deal with it tomorrow or never.

[She’s not sure how it happened. She’s not sure when it happened, either. It just... sort of snuck up on her. With Barry working so closely with Oliver and the rest of his team (oh, Barry tried so hard to keep the Green Arrow’s identity a secret but it’s not that hard to figure out), it was only a matter of time before she’d met Malcolm Merlyn.

Trust had been... difficult, after everything that had happened. But he’d earned it. Slowly. Despite how much both Barry and Oliver had wished otherwise. And sometimes she’d wondered if they were right. The scars left behind by Eobard’s betrayal, the murder of her husband and wearing his skin, masquerading as someone he wasn’t, ran deep.

But he’d earned it. Worked for it. Patient, and resolute. He... understood. Her reluctance. The lingering scars. Her loss. It had taken time for her to realise that at some point he’d stopped popping into S.T.A.R Labs to surprise and bother Barry... and he’d started dropping in to see her.

He’s caught her asleep in her lab, too, because she’s woken up on the couch in her office, covered carefully with a blanket with the distant memory of being scooped up and carried, his voice a soft murmur in her ear.

The phones they use to keep in touch are encrypted to a ridiculous degree. It’s the most secure phone she’s ever seen. And she’s exhausted and hurting; the most recent metahuman they’d dealt with had managed to get into S.T.A.R Labs when Tess was the only one there. Barry had sped to her rescue, and the injuries are minimal enough (broken ribs, concussion, a considerable amount of bruises, and a broken arm), but she still hurts. They’d kept it out of the news, thankfully; she doesn’t need to draw more attention to this. To S.T.A.R Labs. It’s been through enough.

She’s just tired and everything is throbbing and so she fumbles awkwardly for her phone to text him.
