THE COFFEE SHOP AU MEME
It's a coffee shop. You're a hot barista, or just visiting because of the hot barista. It's a hot summer day, so why not go for a Grande Special Deluxe Western Style Low Sugar Peppermint Macchiato? Or just a simple pumpkin spice latte that is, for the sake of convenience, available all year round.?Either way, this is a setting-based meme, so take it from here however you please!

[I mean, she very much wasn't, but no one is allowed to be a buzzkill for her right now ok.]

Okay so, grab the cup. You can write a name on it if you want to be authentic.
no subject
Name on cup, check!
no subject
Perfect. So, do you remember what I did?
[ andie i know nothing of coffee shops ]
no subject
Ruby nods some more, placing the cup underneath the spout... then just starts pressing a bunch of random buttons on the coffee...machine...console...thing.]
Some of this, and a little bit of that, and also those...
[she might have broken something? maybe? are coffee machines supposed to be making hissing noises?]
no subject
[ she very hurriedly shoos ruby out of the way to
SEE WHAT THE FUCK DID SHE DO????
IT'S JUST PRESSING THINGS RUBY??????? ]
no subject
[NOT REALLY but that's her story and she's sticking to it]

[ blake flashes her coworkers an apologetic look. thank god it's so dead right now or else this would be a bigger problem.
it seems easy enough to fix? maybe. ]
Maybe you shouldn't go for a barista job.
no subject
Sorry, Blake...
no subject
Don't worry about it. This is actually the most interesting thing that has happened all day, Ruby.
[ seriously they were so bored. ]
no subject
[because she'd be devastated about 1) doing that and probably ruining this shop forever, and 2) trying to figure out how she's going to be able to afford paying all that back when she's only fifteen and doesn't even have a part-time job.
also apparently that's the currency in Vale and I guess I just missed that entirely while I was watching, I only found out because I had to google since I didn't know if "dollars" would be a word they'd use.]

It's fine, Ruby. We can fix this. And it was my idea in the first place, so I'd be the one taking responsibility, not you.
[ blake would not throw her best friend under the bus like that?? ]
no subject
she still asks, though a little more meekly now,]
Do I still get that cookie?
no subject
[
yes ]
no subject
I knew I could trust you, Blake.
[#irony]
no subject
What are teammates for? Besides free cookies.
no subject
Being best friends, duh!
no subject
[ like how they were in the beginning. ]
no subject
Uh... then in that case... being sorta decent acquaintances who work together kinda well?
no subject
[ she fiddles with the machine some more before stepping back from it. ]
Good thing we're best friends though, and not that.
no subject
Oh, didja fix it?
no subject
[ blake grabs a cup and begins testing it out by doing coffee shop things. ]
...
no subject
Soooooo?
no subject
or something. i still don't know how these machines work. ]
Perfect! Good as new.
