A magnificent realm of delights constructed for the delectation of its sovereign, the harem spans many locations, many eras. Many kings were born of courtesans, many children of pleasure-slaves rose to become great scholars and military leaders. The surroundings are luxurious, but don't be fooled: it is as locked up and guarded as a precious jewel. Or a prison. Enter the harem and lose yourself in its enticements and politics.

Choose your Role

1. Sultan/Emperor or Sultana/Empress: the harem is yours, and you may demand whatever you wish from its residents.
2. Grand Vizier: the sultan's chief advisor, you are the closest and most trusted. You may even be selected to test new harem acquisitions, or judge new beauties.
3. Ambassador: Nobility from another land, you are merely visiting the palace. As a gesture of rare goodwill, the emperor has invited you into the harem to be refreshed and entertained.
4. Guard: armed and dangerous, you are charged with protecting the security of the harem. Never mind the glimpses of veils, the dazzling perfumes... keep your mind on your work.
5. Eunuch: the primary guards and servants of the harem. You see all, know all, can manipulate the emperor and his many wives... but you cannot take any pleasure yourself in the erotic spectacle.
6. Courtesan: a resident of the harem, you must obey and please your sovereign. Nor are all pleasures purely sexual: you may be a brilliant dancer, a skilled musician, a poet, a scholar. And you may sway your ruler with your service and tender words.
7. Invent your own!

Choose your Entertainment

1. The Acquisition: a beautiful person is captured, bought, kidnapped, or otherwise brought to the harem.
2. The First Night: it is your first night in the harem. What will happen when the great doors to the chosen courtesan's room are closed and locked?
3. A Feast: the sultan is in a good mood. A great feast is taking place! Even people not ordinarily allowed to enter the harem are invited to partake of its cool pools and beautiful musics. Strum the lyre, serve the chicken, and dance!
4. A Fight: someone stole something from your room. Someone badmouthed you where you could hear it. People get bored, shuttered in like this... Whatever the cause, it's time for you to set some boundaries. Violently.
5. An Illicit Love: you shouldn't do this. It's against every law of the harem. But the pull is just too powerful, and you must satisfy yourself...
6. A Pleasant Day: sometimes you just want to fool around in the pool and talk about all the other girls and boys. SOL to your heart's content in the luxurious shaded halls of the harem.
7. Invent your own!

[Sup Sultan Martell, it's one of your newer and more easily flustered guards. He knows damn well this is a plum assignment, but he's also half sure the only reason he's there is either someone's idea of a joke, a high-stakes wager from someone with a lot more political clout than he has any idea how to deal with, or (more frighteningly) a direct request by the Sultan himself.

So when he actually has to do more than stand there and nod to the Sultan as he enters, Finn does his best to present as cool, calm, and collected. He probably even fools a couple of people.]

[Kunzite has been congratulating himself on finding this one - Jessica - ever since he laid eyes on her, cornered but with a fire spell prepared anyway, defiant. He likes that as much as he appreciates the way her clothes set off the charms of her body. So while she has no choice in being here, simply because he wants her here, he does not move to touch her at first.

Instead, for a long moment, he does nothing more than eye her appreciatively, now that he has her in the more.... private setting of his luxuriously furnished rooms. For man reputed to be a hardened warrior, there are a surprising number of flowers (mostly white) and green plants all around, perfuming the air. He leaves Jessica standing while he takes a cushioned seat.]

You will not be mistreated within these walls. [As much as it sounds like a concession, or 'kindness', it's also a blunt reminder that he feels it would be perfectly within his rights should he decide otherwise.] You will also not leave them without my consent.

This day a gift had been brought to him. Byakuran wasn't even listening to the man's empty flattery and wishes for them to get along. His eyes were fixed on the gift that had been presented to him, an amused smile on his lips. It wasn't every day he got a person brought to him. Sure he owned a harem, but additions to it were rare gifts. And this one had to be at least ten years younger then himself.]

The new courtesan, captured so suddenly, was rumoured to be a very unruly, filthy thing, and so, Mitsunari Ishida wasn't sure why his Lord and God of Gods, Sultan Hideyoshi, wished to see her at today's feast.

Still, his wish was his command, as always. And the whole world's command. And so, unruly or not, the woman would not dare disobey. Would she?

What was her name, again?

He entered her room - too lavishly rich, disgusting! - and saw her... asleep. How dare she sleep when the Sultan wished to see her? She should be punished for sleeping - for her insolence, that is!

[He had no idea why he was there when there were so many beautiful candidates, but... here he was. Part of a harem. And he was trying his best. He was a bit socially awkward and shy, but he wanted to try and get along with everyone, even if he got quiet in crowds.

Not quite sure how to strike up a conversation, he ended up taking advantage of the fact that they had such luxurious quarters. He started spending his extra time on art, and he thought perhaps he could use it somehow.

So, while Riku was resting, he sat down next to him and gently shook him awake, eager to show him his latest creation. He hadn't talked to him much before, just because he wasn't sure how, so he was excited.]

[Perhaps odd, but in his enthusiasm to show him he put it in front of him before waiting for him to be fully awake. Despite his lack of social skills, the art was exceptionally nice. It was simply a portrait of Riku, since he liked drawing people, with flowers around. The color was especially done well. If he were completely truthful, for a time while he was drawing it he completely forgot he was making it for Riku and was just enjoying coloring, so he'd overdone it a bit.

But Riku didn't need to know that. He just hoped he liked it.]

The words repeated over and over again in his mind. Sure he had nothing against showing his status as crown prince, but he had a standard that non of the courtesans that had been brought to had met and therefor he had dismissed them. This day would probably hold the same disappointment.

Snow White wasn't surprised in the least when person after person brought in front of him had him frown. This was such a waste of time. With all this time wasted he could have read through at least a whole book about plants.]

At this pace I will die of old age before I find anyone fit to be my courtesan!

[He were restless and needles to say frustrated over all of this. Why did they had to be send in one at a time? It would be much faster to just bring them all so he could reject everyone at once. The next person better have some potential or he would lose it.]

[There'd been a lot of fighting recently between Steve and Tony's kingdoms, and it was time for that to end. They still weren't in a place where they could really trust each other, so Steve had sent Scott, a relatively neutral party, to meet with Tony prior to Steve and his knights.

Things go well, for the most part. Tony shows Scott the castle, discusses new trading routes and the opportunities for amends between the kingdoms. They feast, and he sends Scott off to his chambers with a whole stack of papers constituting their alliance. (he'll have to brief Steve and the knights tomorrow).

Tony really wants this to go well. There's been a lot of bloodshed, both parties throwing down the gauntlet and getting pretty ruthless. So he sweetens the pot, and someone knocks on Scott's door.]

Having stayed her for a little while, Kiriha concluded that the Scarlet Devil Castle wasn't immediately creepy... it was actually pretty welcoming in a haunted house kind of way. Tall, grandiose hallways and windows that seemed to stretch forever, a stark contrast to the short empress that owns this house and calls it home.

No, the creep factor didn't kick in until Kiriha found herself facing punishment... or relative lack thereof. Considering she had tried to usurp Remilia from the throne, she had expected a long, brutal stay in a dungeon. Her reasoning had been that her castle was built on a holy ground, and Kiriha made herself part of the harem in a long bid to reclaim that which belonged to her people. She had at least attempted this non-violently, mostly by attempting a show of magical power and a bid to prove her superiority via capture.

Alas, even if she didn't underestimate a vampire, she certainly underestimated Remilia's power. And that was how Kiriha found herself waiting in a side room, still in her maid suit. Nothing yet had transpired, leaving the raven-haired courtesan to pace anxiously as she wondered what fate she brought upon herself. She had prepared for this instance, and yet, as the long wait transpired, she kept wondering if she'd be put up for torture, flogged, turned into one of the lesser fey, or worse...
