Sometimes, even though people try their hardest, they just cannot recall a name, a face, more so a memory of something — maybe even someone.

▶ HOW THIS WORKS

1. Post with your character, and whether they are the amnesiac or they're helping the amnesiac.
2. To the forgetful one — what have you forgotten? Your identity, your life? Is this all an act?
3. To the replier... are you a friend, perhaps someone you haven't seen for years? Or an enemy who's decided to use this to their advantage?
4. Have fun, tag around!

Option 1: Amnesiac

[She'd woken up in a hotel room with absolutely no memory of how she'd gotten there, or even who she was. As soon as she'd realized it, she'd completely torn the room apart looking for clues. There weren't many. A single change of clothes, mostly clean, in her size along wit a pair of shoes, quite new. Three different travel documents, all of them hers according to the photos, alternately identifying her as Alissa Carrington (American), Angelica Norton (Canadian), and Genevieve Fourtier (French).

She had dressed quickly and left the hotel room, almost instinctively relieving some businessman in the hotel lobby of his credit card. That had led to a high-end boutique, where the clothes had fit far better than what she'd found, and now she made her way through the streets of London, as if the landscape could jog her memory.]

Option 2: 'Friend' of Amnesiac

[It doesn't really matter why Irene had come, or how she'd heard about this particular case of amnesia. All that matters is that she's here with friendship on her lips and her pale eyes sharp and watchful.

There's advantage to be gained here. The question is merely how.]

[ He remembers waking up in a hospital.

The first nurse that came to check on him explained the situation as best she could: he was found after a young woman tripped over his body in an alleyway and called 911. He's suffered some sort of head trauma, she told him gently, and they're going to need to run some tests. No identification on him, she continued, and was he faring any better in remembering what had happened and who he was?

He didn't remember talking to her before. All he knew was he was angry, and he spent the next five minutes shouting abuse and hateful observations of her bulimia to try and unconsciously win the love of the father that walked out on her. She'd left trying to stifle the tears, and he'd very quickly unhooked himself from everything and gathered his things. Leaving wasn't difficult; the hospital was low security and it wasn't as though he was being held for a crime or anything, judging by what he found on his charts. He'd simply walked out as though he had no reason to be there and no one had questioned him.

Now he finds himself wandering the streets of New York with no idea what to do next. He knows where he is because he observes where he is, observes the people, the signs, the buildings. He doesn't recall specifics of this place but recalls it exists, and seems to know more the longer he walks without knowing why. There are lots of whys, at the moment. Why is he here? (His accent is different than the majority. Visitor? Recent move? Business?) Why was he attacked? (Head trauma was minimal but there are signs of an injection to his forearm, angled in a way that he could not have done it himself. Drugs? Poison? What?) The more he tries to remember the more his head throbs and the more he wants to pitch an absolute fit to alleviate his rising frustration.

When his eyes finally flicker up from the ground he pauses, staring at the pathway up to the townhouse door he's paused at. It's... familiar. Why? Has he been here before? Is this home? Does he have family here? Was he taken here to be killed? He doesn't know, but it's the first sign of any familiarity he's had since he left the hospital two hours ago. Cautiously he walks to the door, looks it over with a critical eye, then straightens in a way that's almost defiant against the odds that are presently stacked very much not in his favor. Only one way to find out where he is.

He lets out a breath, then presses the doorbell. ]

Bruce groaned, turning over onto his back and rubbing his face. He felt different...strange. Like he'd forgotten something.

At the moment, him and Hawkeye were held prisoner inside an empty room. Just four walls, a small window up high with light streaming through, and a locked door. They had both been exposed to an experimental nerve gas, one that causes complete amnesia. "...what..what happened?" Bruce tries o blink away the cobwebs in his brain, looking around to see that he wasn't alone.
