Everyone knows to stay away from the large empty house on the hill. It’s haunted. But maybe you’re seeking a thrill, or maybe you’re searching for something lost or locked away. Maybe you are the ghost haunting the old building. Maybe your car has stalled, and the house on the hill is the only building for miles. But is it empty, or is there something waiting?

The Haunting
A. Ghosts. Creepy, tragic, and possibly violent, they’ve got unfinished business in this world and you’re the unsuspecting victims who have just become the targets for their wrath.
B. Creatures. Unearthly monsters summoned from a hell-dimension or mutations created by a mad scientist, this is their house now, and they are fascinated and hungry.
C. The People in the Walls. Someone—or several someones—have been living in this house. They’re no longer human anymore, and their sanity has been frayed to the very edge. They’ve been surviving on mice and bats until now. But now you're here, and don't you look delicious?
D. The House Itself. Maybe it was built evil, or maybe it became evil after the horrible deeds that were committed in it. The very walls of the house are soaked with blood, and the house is angry, and hungry. It has you now, and it doesn’t plan to let you out.
E. The Cabin in the Woods Experiment. None of this is natural phenomena. You don’t know it yet, but you’re part of a larger experiment. You’re the rats in the maze, and the scientists are observing—and toying with—your every move.
F. Choose your own horror movie plot!

To say Vivi was excited to be exploring another haunted house was the understatement of the century. The last one they had stumbled into had heaps of paranormal activity! Those cute purple singing ghosts, the candles that had lit themselves, the moving portraits, the mysterious skeleton ghost who had chased them through the manor, only to pause when she defended Arthur...

Of course it was probably going to be nowhere near as cool as that, but it was still worth checking out! She bobbed her head to the music in the van, watching the creepy scenery as they approached their destination. "We nearly there yet Arthur? I can't wait to see what's in store for us this time!"

Jack crossed his arms over his chest and looked up at the ship in front of him with a frown. He honestly couldn't see what was wrong with the damn thing, it looked like any other ship in the bay. ...Well. Almost like any other ship, there was a distinct quietness about this where the others had crew bustling around them almost constantly, this one was empty. The only movement the gentle sway of her sails in the wind, no signs of life at all.

If the crews who had fled her screaming were to be believed, that was exactly the problem. The ship was unowned, nobody even wanted to claim it. Occasionally a crew tried, but they barely even started to sail out of the bay before they were practically leaping from the rigging to get away from the ghosts.

Ghosts. Jack held his share of suspicions, of course he did, what pirate didn't, but ghosts? There had to be another explanation, and he was determined to find out what it was. The ship was good, well maintained despite the lack of interest, it hadn't even suffered all that much raiding - one crew had decided to try and take the cannons once, and they'd all been returned the very next day. The whole crew refused to talk about it, much to Jack's chagrin. He'd had the same problem with every crew or pirate on the whole island who'd ever encountered the ship, they either couldn't or wouldn't tell him what they'd experienced, only that they never wanted to experience it again - decidedly unhelpful for anybody planning an attempt of their own.

"So, the crew have agreed that if we can stay on the ship overnight, they'll believe it's safe to sail in. One night and the ship's ours, I can hardly imagine it'll be that difficult." he said out loud as he heard footsteps behind him, it was probably a little sad that he recognised Vane's footsteps by sound, but he'd been trailing after the man for so long it was second nature by now.

Yeah, Saft doesn't have one of those. So today our heroine can be found exploring an old castle ruin mostly due to her own curiosity. Besides there's no such things as ghosts and even if there was; what kind of ghost would try and spook someone who has the ability to change into a dragon?]

1. Haunted House - A. Ghost (tragic)

James didn't know how much time had passed since he'd found himself in the house. He recognized it as his grandparents' place on Long Island, but it was... different. It was different from what he remembered even when he first arrived, and as time - as years - went by, it kept changing. As did its inhabitants.

Except for him. He never changed, just wandering the halls of the two-story old house, watching as wallpaper was taken down and different designs put up, to be taken down and the walls painted, then repainted, then painted again. The floors changed, carpet covering the hardwood, thicker carpet, then something called 'shag' carpet put in, before that was ripped up and the original hardwood was refinished until it was buffed and polished to a mirror shine.

He watched as a young couple moved in, but didn't stay long because they wanted to be closer to the City. An elderly man stayed for a while, but eventually his family moved him into a Home when he couldn't adequately care for himself (James had been pleased at that, because he'd liked the old man, and didn't want him to get hurt with no one to help him - James sure couldn't). At one point, when the shag carpeting got replaced, it was by another young couple, with a small girl of about 4. It was this family that made him stop wandering through the world, and realize just exactly what was happening.

The girl could see him. It was like wandering through a dream, walking amongst a play until that point, watching but not knowing he could participate. But the girl, Stephanie (Steffie, and maybe that was part of why he adored her so, a little toe-headed, bright blue-eyed fearless curiosity seeker), would look up at him and ask his name. He told her "Bucky" and they would talk - well, as much as 4-year-olds were good at conversations. She would tell him about her day, and invite him to tea parties with her stuffed animals.

Her parents grew scared, and Steffie said they took her to a man who asked her a lot of questions, and didn't believe her. It made James angry, and he learned that he could affect things around him, like that. Not much, but enough. He slammed doors when he saw either parent, he rattled pipes, he opened windows and knocked dishes off the table.

He was an idiot, and all he managed to do was frighten the couple into leaving, which he wouldn't have minded at all, except they took Steffie with them, and he was alone again.

He stayed alone after that, watching the dust start to settle on every surface of the house, the light grow dimmer in the day as grime coated the windows. Teenagers would sneak in sometimes. He'd mostly leave them alone, unless they tried to vandalize the place; that always made him angry enough to be able to throw things around. He never hurt them, but some of them did get hurt by being stupid and clumsy, and apparently, word spread that the house was haunted by an evil ghost. He heard various stories from the ones who came in, but all of them only had small snippets of truth in them.

James liked it best when he was left alone. At least then he didn't notice how much time had gone by, with him stuck in this place.
