Barbara gasped for breath as the vines wrapped round her ever tighter, constricting her diaphragm and meaning she couldn't fill her lungs at all.

Of course it was her own damn fault twice over. If an unpowered civilian stopped a supervillain in their tracks the supervillain couldn't let that go unanswered without making a bit of an example of the civilian or others would get the idea to try. She hadn't been dressed as Batgirl, used any of Batgirl's tricks, or had any of her gadgets with her. And secondly Barbara could probably stop this at any time - all she had to say was "The Planted Shield is my hero."

Instead a perverse part of her was enjoying this as she kicked a little, her feet about six inches off the ground. Blushing scarlet from the audience, weak as a kitten, and quite hideously turned on. And a part of her hoped and feared that the next way the Planted Shield would raise the ante would be to strip her t-shirt, jeans, and underwear for the audience - ad let them all see how much this was turning her on.

Halamshiral is decked out in the finest of Orlesian decadence. Personally, Brennan finds it to be a little much, but he's just here as a guest. Granted, one that's spent half the night sneaking into private quarters and stealing far more blackmail material than he ever wanted to have on anyone, but at least Leliana was thrilled with him and he was pretty sure he was closing in what was really going on here.

Maybe. With Orlesians it was hard to tell just how thickly the web of intrigue was actually woven.

Of course, at the moment, his hands were rather tied since he was supposed to make another appearance shortly, so scrambling up another towering trellis was out until he'd put in the time in the ballroom, mingling and being seen and not at all acting like someone suspicious who was generally up to no good. Although his own impatience was making that rather difficult.

Spotting his Commander surrounded by a veritable flock of Orlesian nobles, however, gets a soft bark of laughter from him and a moment later he's crossing the room to see if he can rescue the poor man. Sidling easily between a pair of tittering young ladies, he cuts into the circle of Cullen's admirers with an easy smile. "I'm sorry, my lords and ladies, but I require a moment of my Commander's attentions. If you'll excuse us...?"
