"...but keeping you all alive is a much bigger challenge."

LET'S HEIST

You've got your crew - or maybe you don't.
Maybe you were just picked up off the street,
or maybe you've been planning this for years.
But now, the streets of the city are yours,
and there's only one thing to do;

Go big or go home.

1; THE PLAN
Prepwork. Plotting. Who're you going to hit? Who's going to do what?
Figure out what you're going to do and how you're going to do it,
just keep in mind that the world rarely goes along with your careful planning.

2; THE SETUP
Get the vehicles. Get the people. Get everything in place, and get
as ready as you can possibly be. Now isn't the time to let things
go wrong...not that it's going to stop them from doing so.
2B; THE SHOPPING MONTAGE
Time to dress up like firemen!

3; THE BEGINNING (OF THE END)
Three, two, one - get your mask, get your gun, get your adrenaline
up and pumping because there's no stopping it now.

4. THE GETAWAY
You've got the goods, but can you get away from the cops? Oh, look.
They've even brought in a helicopter team - lucky you. No matter how
many you shoot, there'll always be more coming, unless you can
give them the slip...
4B; THE COLLAPSE
It's all going down, boys, you're not going to make it.
Ready to go out in a blaze of glory?
Or did you forget to restock the sticky bombs?

5. THE AFTERMATH
Did you manage to escape? Lucky you, you're part of an extremely
rare club that pays as much homage to luck as it does skill. Now,
what're you doing with the prize?...perhaps using it to invest in
your next heist?

6. THE OTHER SIDE
Are you a cop instead of a heister? Good luck.

[Aaand...she's upset. Dammit. He didn't mean to do it. However, rather than write it off as women, am I right, Kira completely respects that she has good reason for feeling the way she feels and that it probably is his fault. Unfortunately, it doesn't come out apologetic -- just grumpy and slightly passive-aggressive.]

Okay.

[And he compliantly slinks off to wait by the desk, hands still in his pockets, getting weird and uncomfortable looks every once in a while from the library-stragglers.]

[ Stupid Kira. He could maybe just think before he speaks, it isn't like it's that complicated a task. She finishes her task not too long after and returns to the front desk. Some of her annoyance still clinging to her as she crosses her arms over her chest.]

I hope these help Ryuzaki with his project.

[ She gives the rolls of blueprints a brief wave before setting them down on the counter. ]

And for the record Ryuzaki isn't nearly as inconsiderate as you make him out to be.

[He takes them off the counter and tucks them under an arm. There are a lot of things he wants to say to Misa, but it doesn't feel like any of them would be welcome. The last thing he wants is to make her feel more uncomfortable, or worse, disrespected. He's got no idea how to fix the situation, though, and she really probably just wants him to leave as quickly as possible.

Kira knows things about "Ryuzaki" that would make Misa's hair curl, but he'd never betray Lawliet's secret -- it would be a serious dick move. Besides, he's investigating Lawliet and the mysterious deaths that happen around the jobs Lawliet does, and he can't see how blabbing to Misa would help his cover. Still...even though Kira knows it's petty, it's tempting.
]

That's easy for you to say. You've never had to work with him. He's absolutely impossible sometimes, and he never seems to stop showing off.

[He pauses, and miracle of miracles, something nice actually comes out of his mouth.]

Still -- he's lucky to have a friend like you.

[ It isn't uncomfortable so much as annoyance. He just assumes that she sees Ryuzaki in the same light and that's what bothers her the most. And why she seems to be wearing a perpetual frown when he comes to the library. Ryuzaki has been nothing but a gentlemen to her and she will defend that fact to the bitter end.

She blinks and smiles at him wanly. ]

I guess the time I've spent helping him research doesn't count then.

[ She's visibly taken aback at his comment though. Surprised that he actually could string a sentence together that didn't sound like he was being a dick. ]

Yeah, he is.

[Not for the first time, Kira wishes he were better with girls. Some people are just smooth, knowing instinctively just the right things to say to get people to react the way they want. It's a skill Kira's never had. But, well, at least he's sincere.]

You're really good at your job, you know. Ryuzaki might not have been able to make it this time, but he appreciates it.

[ She'd like him even less if he was really smooth like that. It's not worth buying into the act when it could only lead to pain in the end. ]

Thank you. I'm sure he appreciates your friendship as well.

[ Though she doesn't quite understand why they're friends to start with. ]

Heh. He appreciates me running errands for him.

[He makes exactly the animu face in the icon, but then, his expression softens a little.]

But I guess talking to you's not so bad.

We all have our burdens.

[ She feels one part sorry for him and another part like he deserves to be Ryuzaki's gopher. ]

Mm most people think I'm a terrible person to talk to.
giveapotatochip: (it's not an unpretending)

[personal profile] giveapotatochip 2016-03-28 10:43 pm (UTC)(link)
Well, yeah. It's pretty obvious you're just putting up with me because of your job. You're not very good at hiding how you feel.

[ She blinks at him. Wow she's never had someone be so rude in her life. ]

Or maybe you just bring out the worst possible side of me.

[ Jerk. ]

No, I like it.

...

--not in a weird way. What I mean is, I like that I don't have to guess what you're thinking. I don't like thinking that someone feels one way and finding out later that what they actually think is something else. It's better to be honest, right?
