[Kyouko puts down the Pocky and leans back a little. She doesn't look at Sayaka.]

I'm not gonna tell you that's the wrong way to do things anymore.

[She pauses and takes a breath.] Maybe you won't believe me, but I used to want to use magic to help people, too. I believed in justice and all that crap. But some horrible stuff happened to me, and after that I thought I learned what was really important. [She slumps back and glares up at the ceiling.]

I've watched you go through horrible stuff, but you didn't run away from those stupid ideals no matter how many times you got hurt. That's why I wanna know your answer, anyway. Maybe if I was as tough as you I coulda stayed straight.

[Sayaka leans back next to Kyouko, laughing a little.]

I don't know. Maybe I'm just stupid or stubborn. This is the only way I really know how to act. I don't feel like having these powers is worth it unless I try to do something good with them. I've already suffered so much just having them, you know? So even if it kills me, I want to use them to try to make things better. I might live longer doing it your way, but I don't think I'd be able to forgive myself for it.

[Even though her own way is doomed to lead to her own destruction. She knows that, and has come to a weird sort of peaceful place concerning that decision.]

So to answer your question... I still don't know what I'd do. But I'd make it work somehow. And I'd do it in a way I could be proud of.

[Silence lingers for a few seconds while Kyouko thinks of what to say.]

I shoulda known. That answer's a real cop out. [She follows that statement with a brief laugh to show that she's kidding. Still, it sounds forced and little sad.]

Well, I know one thing, and that's if I were you I wouldn't be friends with a big jerk like me. No way in hell.

[Sayaka just grins at that.]

Not my fault you keep coming around, you know.

[She leans over and bumps Kyouko with her elbow before straightening back up.]

Yeah? Is that right? Why don't you just kick me out, then!

[With rather sudden speed, Kyouko bounces up. In the same motion, she tries to grab Sayaka and tackle her back down onto the bed. It's… well, it's cuddly tackling, okay. We're getting there.]

Yeah? Maybe I will!

[Takes a while with these two. But Sayaka does enough cuddly tackling of her own to Madoka, so she's able to recognize it for what it is. Laughing a little, she reaches out to grab for Kyouko in turn, wrestling with her and trying to reverse the hold.]

[It's good that Sayaka has experience, but compared to Madoka, Kyouko is likely a different beast. The wrestling is still cuddly, in a sense, but Kyouko also has no intention of losing--whatever "losing" is, in this case, as she struggles to keep her position. Maybe she'll try to get Sayaka to say uncle.]

[Sayaka twists around, wrapping her legs up between Kyouko's while she tries to get some more leverage with her upper body. It's like an aggressive game of Twister without the mat.]

You better not, 'cause I'm not going easy on you.

[That move does catch her off guard a bit, and for a second or two her grip slackens. They're so wrapped up at this point that it might not matter, but it is a slight lapse that Sayaka could take advantage of.]

[Exploiting the momentary opening, Sayaka pushes with her hands and rolls to the side, trying to flip Kyouko over onto her back so she's the one on top. She'll be attempting to straddle her with her legs and pin her down.]

Not so fast!

[Hope you like rolling, Sayaka, because that is what's going on now. Kyouko uses the initial momentum of Sayaka's maneuver to keep the roll going. The goal is to end up on top before they both go crashing off the bed or into a wall.]

[Yeah, Sayaka's caught completely off guard by that and almost goes tumbling straight off the bed with her. She manages to stop herself short somehow, but clearly it's time to start playing dirty.]

All right, then, take this!

[Instead of wrestling back, Sayaka has shifted strategies, and is now poking and tickling everywhere she can get her hands on, once again using her legs to try to lock Kyouko in place.]

[Just how ticklish is Kyouko? Ticklish enough, it turns out. With the shift it tactics, she can't help but go on the defensive, putting all her effort into stopping Sayaka's hands.]

Say-a-ka. Hah. Haha! Why. This is. Cheating. Come on, you--!!

[Between the fits of laughter and yelling, and she tries to grab the other girl's arms and hold them back.]

[Ohoho. Now the ball is in Sayaka's court. She's quite experienced with grabbyhands. Grinning and laughing, she twists in place to try to find an advantageous angle that Kyouko can't fight back from as she uses one hand for tickling and the other to block the other girls' hands.]

C'mon, give up! I've got you right where I want you!

[The tickling is wearing her down, so Kyouko finds herself with the energy for about one more big effort. She puts all her strength into a direct push, with both arms, at Sayaka's body, aiming to shove her off for at least long enough to squirm out of her hold.]

[Great on offense, not so good on defense. Whether it's fighting witches or tickling other girls, that pretty much sums up Sayaka's style. The push works, knocking the air out of her just long enough for Kyouko to escape.]

[Kyouko sits back on her hands, sucking some breath. She gives Sayaka a little grin.]

You done? 'Cause I think I'm gonna let you off easy this time.

[Kyouko stands up and straightens her clothes. Her hair is in some disarray, but she doesn't seem to notice and/or care.]

It's good we didn't break anything. And this food could've gotten everywhere. [Gee, guess who would've been pissed if that had happened.]

We'll have to find a better arena for our rematch.

[Sayaka laughs a little, smoothing out her skirt and trying to mat down her own hair a little.]

[Kyouko throws herself back down on the bed next to the bags.]

Yeah, but if I decided to go all out, we'd have to find a pretty big place that could a lot of punishment.

Man, those kinds of places are everywhere in anime, you'd think they'd be easier to find!

[Sayaka flops onto the bed herself, half-lying down.]

[Kyouko lies on her stomach and starts going through the food again.]

The characters in those shows always end up wherever's convenient for the plot. They're unrealistic in a lot of ways people don't even think about.

Yeah, I guess so. Not that fighting witches really seems much more realistic. If you'd told me a year ago that was what I'd be doing today, I'd have just laughed.

[There's a slightly sad quality to her voice right now, but this is Sayaka before she's given up on everything.]
