There's nothing worse than just innocently hanging out with a friend, acquaintance, or even enemy when someone else decides to join the party.

Why, because drugs are bad? [ he would really like some now anyway. he reaches down to try and help leo and only ends up holding his hand so he's out. this is too awkward even for him to process.

finally the sheet comes free and he kicks it all the way off, still half-hard by the time he manages to sit up. there may be a matching flush on his cheeks after that ordeal. ]

Should we even bother with today? [ it seems pretty downhill no matter what from here to him ]

I don't know, I've never done any. Once I took a stronger painkiller and slept through the whole day, Mia never me listen the end of it.

[That's a good way to talk about something else, right? Except that when he finally gets Tony tangled out of the sheets he can't help but notice that he's still hard, although not as much as before.

At Tony's question, Leo simply shakes his head and lets himself fall back towards the bed, face down. For some reason his brain keeps repeating that moment when he woke up and felt Tony so close. In response he sighs, quite angry, and grabs the pillow and puts it over his head.]

I would have preferred to sleep through this whole day. [ he watches leo with a frown, immediately reaching out to put his hand on his back. it's impulsive, he would have done it anytime, but now as he puts things back in context that's weird. this is weird. he pulls his hand back and gets to his feet. ]

... B-R-B. [ he's going to take care of this and then they can talk about anything but what just happened. ]

[Leo has to admit that Tony's touch is comforting, in a way. Kind of helps with the awkwardness. He gets his head out from under the pillow when he stops feeling Tony's hand on his back and watches him leave. Should he have offered to help? Because that's clearly what Tony left to do and if had somehow caused it.

Wait, what was he even thinking about. How had his mind even wandered up to that point, to think of his friend like that even if just for the tiniest of seconds?]

[ tony's back in a few minutes as promised, his hair damp from splashing water on his face in the sink. otherwise he seems no worse for wear. ]

You're making me want to go back to bed. [ which also comes out... not at all the way he'd meant it to. he just means that he'd been comfortable. clearly too much so, but that was neither here nor there. ]

[And no, it certainly doesn't help either with the way it comes out as, but Leo tries to not overthink it and just shrugs.]

Didn't you say that we shouldn't even bother with today?

You always take me at face value. There's a reason no one else does. [ but the urge overwhelms him and he climbs back onto the covers next to leo, leaning back against the headboard and looking over. ]

We probably should get back to work. [ which was usually more than enough to motivate him, but now... he's slowly sliding back into the comfy pillow and bringing the soft blanket up around him. a soft sigh escapes him, unbidden. ]

I'm not like everybody else, though.

[But he feels like he gets a small victory when Tony indeed gets back into the bed. He can't help but smile a little at how his friend's actions end up showing the exact opposite of what he just said.]

That was real motivation there.

...Maybe after a nap. A tiny one. [ he closes his eyes, already feeling that drowsiness surge up around him. ] To increase -- productivity.

Just, er... try to get your thoughts in check this time.

[Before he ends up doing something like offering to take care of it like he did before. Sorry, Tony, he's just walking on eggshells pretty much.]

[ oh god you weren't supposed to talk about it!! tony cracks one eye open, knowing he should just be grateful leo isn't making this weirder. but he's t stark so he always has to push the envelope. ] Or what?

[He freaks out a little at the question because what he's even supposed to answer to that. He said it half joking and now he dug himself into a hole somehow? Great.]

...'Or what' what?

Nothing. Nevermind. [ he grumbles, curling up and basking in the warmth of the bed. though leo was a lot warmer than this blanket... this is stupid, they should just get up. ]

[...He messed up, didn't he? He feels like he messed up really bad for some reason. In the end he decides to get a little closer to Tony.]

I'm sorry, I just don't... know how to deal with these things.

[ he can't help the tiny smile that comes to his lips when he feels leo shift closer. the apology makes it drop back away just as fast though. ]

There's nothing to deal with. It's done. [ keeping his eyes closed, he squirms a little closer himself ]

I still feel like I messed up. Somehow.

[He sighs and closes his eyes too.]

Messed up. [ tony repeats it, his eyes coming open properly this time. he frowns at leo even though the other man isn't looking. ] How did you mess up? [ isn't that his line? even if he didn't do anything... consciously. you know!!! ]

I don't know, if I should've done something or not... [Pauses, thinking that maybe he made it even more awkward.] Just forget it. I was just thinking too much.

[He then tries to roll over his other side but suddenly hissing at the pressure against the wound of his side that he has to keep open to charge. He ends up having to settle with laying on his back.]

There's no such thing as thinking too much. [ though this is bothering him. what would leo have done..? ]

...Hey. Take it easy. [ tony's distracted by his own thoughts, immediately reaching out for leo's arm and gripping on. he doesn't know how else to help but through contact. when he plugs that into the question of what leo might have done to help him earlier... a flush starts creeping up his throat all over again. ]

[Contact makes him tense up a little. That's certainly something that they are quite different at]

Sometimes it

[Because it leads to even more awkwardness! Yay! He has no idea how to deal with himself, let alone others or awkward situations like this one and it shows, a lot.]

[ he lets go, his hand disappearing under his pillow instead. ]

You're right. No more thinking. Only napping.

Right. Napping, it fixes everything. Then charge and back to work and everything is fine.

[He mumbles the last part all together, it probably souns more like gibberish. Then he realizes that he'd probably would have to do the charging there since going to the hut and then back there would be too bothersome.]

[ charging. tony forgets altogether sometimes and now he's putting a few pieces together, effectively breaking his own no thinking rule. ] Do you need to charge now?

It's not urget, so don't worry about me dying on your bed.

[Kind of not the best time for a dark joke huh. But really, not that bad.]

I wasn't... Until you just said that. [ jerk. he gets a gentle push to his shoulder for that one. ]
