THE AUTUMN MEME

It's that time of year again; Autumn.
Whether it's raking the leaves or running to Starbucks for a Pumpkin Spice Latte,

the season is back upon us and it's time to enjoy it before winter comes.

Scenarios:
Look at all the pretty colors - Maybe you just feel like strolling down the street and looking at all the leaves turning colors. Maybe you're shopping for something to fit in with the autumn theme. Or you could be setting up an easel to try to capture how the trees look like they're on fire. Just enjoy the turning shades.

I didn't agree to be in this movie -Yes, it's that time again, fog time. It can be creepy or beautiful or both and guess what? You're trapped in it. Are you alone? Are you at home looking out the windows, or stuck somewhere waiting for it to clear so you can drive? Maybe you're walking home late at night and the fog is as creepy as hell and was that the sound of someone sharpening an axe?

Something to warm the cockles - Coffee house prompt. You want your pumpkin spice latte and you want it now. Or maybe you want extra nutmeg. Or maybe someone made a pumpkin cheesecake and you want the line to move faster before someone gets the last piece. You're in a coffee house and there's coffee. Have fun with that.

I just raked that - Yes, it's lawncare time. You've been ordered to clean up your yard and make nice efficient piles. Or maybe you're strolling down the street and you happen to see a nice pile just begging you to jump in. Or push your friend. Or maybe someone's dog or cat is hiding in one and is ready to jump out and scare the crap out of you. Only one way to find out.

But it's only so many days until Halloween - Oh. You're one of those. The ones that love Halloween and start setting things up as soon as there's a slight briskness to the air. Well, time to go shopping. Or maybe you need to start setting up the decorations in the window. Or the yard. Or buying candy to appease the inevitable hordes. Halloween comes but once a year, so get ready for it while you can.

Wildcard - There are plenty of autumn activities to do. Make some up on your own, be it strolling with a friend or curling up with someone special and enjoying something sweet

There's another perk to seeing someone. You can go see 3D movies together and blame it all on me, if you want.

I thought girls were what you blamed chick flicks on?

You can blame a lot of things on us. As long as you're dating someone who doesn't mind. I don't. But I would rather see an action or sci-fi movie before a chick flick any day.

I'd rather not blame you for anything and just enjoy a night out sometime. If you're up for that?

[She lets out a laugh before nodding. She realizes that she's dangerously close to babbling.] I'm up for that. That would be really nice. [It's at this point that Carol realizes she's definitely eaten at least half of the pie. There's not much left at all.]

Good. So how about we enjoy ourselves maybe... this weekend?

[Steve is much smoother than she would've thought. Carol likes it.]

That sounds perfect. My schedule is very open.

[It was all just blind luck.]

Well, pencil in Saturday night as date night.

[Well then blind luck was being very kind to him so far.]

Done. Should we come up with a plan or are you going to surprise me?

I... think I'd like to try surprising you. If that's okay?

Yeah, that's okay. All I ask for is a loose idea of what to wear.

How about I call you Saturday afternoon and let you know? I'll have it nailed down by then.

Yeah, that sounds good. I'm already looking forward to it.

[She smiles and then sets the empty pie run down on his coffee table.]

Then I'll have to make sure it's worth looking forward to.

I'm going to look forward to pretty much anything you pick out. Just as long as we get to spend time together.

I think I can agree with those parameters.

[Leaning back after setting his fork down, he gave her a sideways grin, then patted his lap.]

Can I offer the lady a seat?

You can.

[Carol gently moves from her position next to him to one in his lap with her back against the arm of the couch. A hand comes up to gently move through his hair.]

Wow, this is the best seat in the house.

[His arm goes around her back, hand holding on to her waist as she settles, the other one resting on her far leg, just above the knee.]

I don't know about the best one...

[She's thought about it earlier tonight, but she can't help enjoying the simple act of being able to touch him. That he really wanted her to touch him. Thank goodness for talks over plates of spaghetti.]

It's my favorite so far.

[And then, well, she just can't wait any longer, so she leans in to kiss him.]

[Any answer he might have made was cut off with her mouth on his, but he didn't mind. In fact, that was where he'd been hoping this would go, and his hand on her leg slid up a little further, his lips pressing to hers almost eagerly.]

[With the invitation to sit in his lap, she kind of assumed that was what he was aiming for. But that's fine because that's what Carol was aiming for herself. With a happy hum, she deepened the kiss and wrapped her arms loosely around his neck.]

[The hand at her back slid up it, as did the one on her thigh, pulling her a little closer as he tipped his head to keep the kiss on a more intimate level. His tongue came out to taste her; Carol and cherry pie. Not a bad mix.]

[Her hum of approval came again, though louder this time. There was something about his hands moving up around her paired with his tongue that was absolutely irresistible. She pressed her torso as close to his as she could and then let her tongue seek out his.]

ooc: Generalize over the kissing to the next significant part? End here? Keep going? Totally up to you, just wanted to see what you thought. :)
