Autumn Meme
THE AUTUMN MEME

It's that time of year again; Autumn.
Whether it's raking the leaves or running to Starbucks for a Pumpkin Spice Latte,
the season is back upon us and it's time to enjoy it before winter comes.
Scenarios:
Look at all the pretty colors - Maybe you just feel like strolling down the street and looking at all the leaves turning colors. Maybe you're shopping for something to fit in with the autumn theme. Or you could be setting up an easel to try to capture how the trees look like they're on fire. Just enjoy the turning shades.
I didn't agree to be in this movie -Yes, it's that time again, fog time. It can be creepy or beautiful or both and guess what? You're trapped in it. Are you alone? Are you at home looking out the windows, or stuck somewhere waiting for it to clear so you can drive? Maybe you're walking home late at night and the fog is as creepy as hell and was that the sound of someone sharpening an axe?
Something to warm the cockles - Coffee house prompt. You want your pumpkin spice latte and you want it now. Or maybe you want extra nutmeg. Or maybe someone made a pumpkin cheesecake and you want the line to move faster before someone gets the last piece. You're in a coffee house and there's coffee. Have fun with that.
I just raked that - Yes, it's lawncare time. You've been ordered to clean up your yard and make nice efficient piles. Or maybe you're strolling down the street and you happen to see a nice pile just begging you to jump in. Or push your friend. Or maybe someone's dog or cat is hiding in one and is ready to jump out and scare the crap out of you. Only one way to find out.
But it's only so many days until Halloween - Oh. You're one of those. The ones that love Halloween and start setting things up as soon as there's a slight briskness to the air. Well, time to go shopping. Or maybe you need to start setting up the decorations in the window. Or the yard. Or buying candy to appease the inevitable hordes. Halloween comes but once a year, so get ready for it while you can.
Wildcard - There are plenty of autumn activities to do. Make some up on your own, be it strolling with a friend or curling up with someone special and enjoying something sweet

she checks in with everyone constantly. stops by, texts, asks about whether they're eating properly, and she's such a mom about it, but she keeps it up. it's not just fly-by, obligatory giving a shit, it's serious giving a shit. it's sam. she has to make sure that everyone's coping, as best they can. everyone except herself, of course. your own needs are pretty easy to forget when you're so busy with everyone else's.
although she tells herself not to lurk by the windows and keep an eye on whether she sees the familiar lines of mike's car appear in her drive, even though that on its own is barely visible. she feels instantly terrible for making him drive around in this (as the evening wears on, she really can't think of anything worse than hanging out with a load of drunk college kids during this weather). tries to make it look like she wasn't waiting by hovering behind the front door for a few extra seconds before opening it. covering up with humour to deflect from the fact that for a moment, she was seriously a little afraid. ]
Impressive. I was starting to think I'd sent you on a wild fog chase or something.
[ smiles, even though it's hard to when mike looks like that, standing aside to let him in. ]

Not that he mentions that either, instead a loose, breezy grin, the smooth lift of one shoulder. ]
Pfft. Takes more than a little fog to get me lost. So're we watchin' movies? Like, I'm vetoing The Fog, but anything else you got I'm game.
[ Perhaps it's notable that he's been here enough times to feel comfortable hanging up his own jacket, revealing (unsurprisingly) a henley under a button-down flannel, perhaps not. ]

Uh, yeah, agreed. [ she laughs, lightly, cringing with amusement and perhaps slightly more honest discomfort at the thought. ] I'm thinking something happy. Is "happy" a Netflix category? It should be.
[ and she's already meandering down the hall, pleasantly comforted by the familiarity in the way mike hangs up his coat. she'll take that, gladly, hold onto it even when she's trying to let go of other things, despite their vague overlap. ]
