Dating is, when you think about, really weird. It's a totally different thing for different people. Some are friends for years before they date; others start dating on the same day they met. Sometimes, there's a lot mushy stuff involved; other times, the couple acts just like friends. None of this is necessarily right or wrong.

Whatever it is, your character and the character you reply to are now dating. How? That's up to you. Whether it be awkward or not, the relationship will be uniquely theirs.

[The Hollow is smirking lazily from his perch on a roof, watching Ichigo leave the house for his supposed 'date'. Apparently he felt the rest of the world was safe enough to leave the Hollow to his own devices and the other had received nothing but taunts about 'going out with a friend'. Whatever that meant, it was so easy to rile him up. In fact...]

Don't worry, I won't wait up for ya if ya don't get back 'til mornin'!

[He snickers at the tensing of the other's shoulders but his landlord refuses to turn to acknowledge his other half, continuing on his way no doubt with his face a bright red. The Hollow has severe misgivings on the 'friend' he was going out with, even if they were groundless, but he won't stop it. It might be fun to witness the awkwardness in action. Not like he has anything important to do or anyone babysitting him.]

[Rukia stands on the roof close by, watching Ichigo depart as well. As a shinigami, only Ichigo and the Hollow are able to see her. It means she's wearing her shihakusho, but the gigai isn't far away if she's supposed to go out on the town and actually act like a normal person. She's not sure how 'normal' a date with Ichigo's Hollow is going to be anyway.]

[She tilts her head, looking down at the pale white man.]

[He glances at the Shinigami with a sly smirk for a second before watching Ichigo's retreating figure again. After a moment he stands and stretches a bit. It's nice to have some freedom once in a while.]

[She lifts her chin imperiously, with a self-assured smile. She takes a thin paperback book out of the folds of her robes.]

I read an extensive guide last night. I'm nearly an expert at this point.

[He flips open the book with one hand to look at it idly, not that he has much interest, but he stills when she uses that cutesy tone. He doesn't like it.]

[He turns away, book still in hand for now, and begins to walk over to the next rooftop to jump to.]

Asking him to pick her up was a little too real for her; it was easier on her nerves to just meet him in front of the park and go from there. It's just a test date, she knows, so his expectations are going to be fairly low. She knows better than to get her hopes up for anything serious! But even so... Just a test is beyond what she could have dreamed! Play it cool, she tells herself, and just behave the way she usually does.]

[It's hard not to feel awkward and even more so when she says those words aloud. He rubs the back of his neck a bit, his gaze flicking away for a moment. He feels a little stupid going out on a 'test date' but it makes some sort of sense. Better with those he knows than total strangers where he could make a complete ass out of himself. It didn't help when earlier his Hollow grilled him with taunts, some of them he could have kept to his damned self, so he tries not to think about it. What sane person says those kind of things about a test date anyway?!]

I've been meaning to go for a while now. It's fun to try new menus!

[He sticks his hands in the pockets of his jeans and thinks. Chocolate obviously but that was more of a dessert thing.]

Spicy foods are pretty good. What about you?
