GAVE YOU A HOME meme

Bricks and mortar can make up a house, but most of us know that four walls don't a home make. Yet some go through life without either. Perhaps that's been your case - up until now. Whether you come happily and openly or this is something you're pulled into out of convenience and circumstance, you now have a roof over your head. What's more important though is, slowly but surely, you're gaining a home...and this home? It's a person, a person you're realizing you never want to lose and to whom you're forever grateful, no matter if your feelings toward them are romantic or platonic. If need be, you'll fight to protect this.

HOW TO PLAY
  • Comment with your character, preferences, and whether your character will be the one giving or getting a home.
  • Reply to others.
  • Thread!

OPTIONS
  • Platonic: For the younger set or those who prefer a more familial bond.
  • Romantic: They opened up their home...and their heart.

Years have passed, but to an elf fifty of them are but a blink of an eye. Tauriel has taken shelter in the newly-grown kingdom of Dale, making herself useful to its new King as a captain of his guard - but she has never forgotten her home, or her former King, or her Prince.

Quite unexpectedly she is patrolling the city's border one afternoon for straggling orcs, and when she hears and feels a presence behind her she falls into her first instinct, drawing her bow with quick fingers and aiming it at the intruder.

Only to lower it, a split-second later. "...Legolas." Despite it being many years and despite having been banished, she's quick to duck her head deferentially to him as she was used to. "Hîr nín."*

It surprised him that her deference made him somewhat uncomfortable. It seemed strange, though he did not know why. Perhaps it was that she as no longer under his command, but then again, had she ever truly been so? Tauriel had always had her own mind, and had always had a talent for convince him to see her side of things. He was the prince, yes, but how many times had it been him following her rather than vice versa?

He inclined his head slightly, recognizing the gesture, while studying her carefully, assessing her well-being. He would be lying if he said he had not worried for her. She had seemed so heartbroken the last time he saw her. He feared the worst. It was a relief to see her here, seemingly in good health.

“Cormamin lindua ele lle*.” He greeted her, giving her a slight smile, one so slight that one who did not know him well enough would likely miss it. “You look well.”
