THE BATTLE MEME

This is it. This is war. This is the moment you've been fighting for. Whether a literal war against an army of millions, just you and your partner by your side, or a more private showdown between you and your archnemisis, it's time to do battle. It's time to fight!

Compose a scenario involving a great battle. If you're stumped, use the Random Number Generator to pick from a few possible scenarios below:


1. This is war! It's just you and a few others against a whole army of something (make it up!) How are you going to prevail against such impossible odds? Heroes or villains, you're confidant that you can make it, be it because of the strength of your friendship, or your own unshakeable will.

2. Duel of the Fates You... and the other. This battle was destined from the very beginning! You were fated to fight this other in a duel to the death. Who will be the victor? One thing is known... only one of you is walking away from this!

3. Two men enter, one man leaves! It's a cage match of epic proportions! There's a whole audience here, jeering you on, praising your prowess in the arena. Is it a mad fight to the death, Hunger Games style, or something more sporting? Up to you!

4. Fight Club It's just Saturday night underneath the local seedy bar (or maybe in the parkinglot outside), you and a bunch of hardasses, beer and good times... and, of course, beating the everloving shit out of each other. Preferably with your shirts off. The main rule? Don't talk about Fight Club...

5. Bar fight! Somebody got a little liquor into them, and somebody may have said something they regret... either way, it's on now, and everyone's joining in! Chaos ensues with broken bottles and thrown chairs... are you going to join the mayhem, or try to sneak away safely?

6. David and Goliath Another duel, but this one's a little... uneven. One of you is WAY stronger than the other. Maybe if you have superpowers, you've lost them... or the other person has GAINED some. Or maybe it's just a matter of sheer size. But that said, just because you're the little guy doesn't mean all is lost. You have a few tricks up your sleeve that might even the odds...

7. Old West Shootout It's high noon on Main Street. A tumbleweed blows between the two of you... Draw! Be it a classic pistol duel or a Mexican standoff, this sort of fight is a classic.

8. Ballroom Blitz You're at a nice party, in your nicest clothes... and, well, you know how the song goes!

9. WILDCARD MAKE SOMETHING UP. YOU GOT BRAINS! USE 'EM!

[She's just had a bad night. Actually, a very bad week. What better way to fix that then have a drink or two? Never mind that she isn't quite old enough for it, barkeeps and bouncers are always willing to overlook things if your top is tight enough. There's nothing wrong with using your assets if they actually work, after all! Nariko just wanted a bit of liquor to ease her aching shoulders and frazzled mind.

She did not want to be in the center of a massive fight. She vaguely remembers hearing two men argue over something, but the alcohol dulled her instincts. When it finally occurred to her that the situation would only escalate, it was too late. Chairs whiz by, a few people scurry, but most just want to hit something. Nariko is usually a good enough hand-to-hand fighter but she's dizzy and uncertain in her heels and skirt. What a fucking night to skip a practical outfit that included some jeans.

A man only half a size bigger sends a punch to her jaw and it connects with a burst of stars behind her eyes. Nariko goes flying into someone by accident and looks at him quickly, eyes a little unfocused but aware. By the looks of it, she'd rather hit on him than fight, but now isn't the time for such things. She'll just be happy if he doesn't feel like getting into it with her, too.]
