Blind Date meme

The Blind Date meme. Pretty self-explanatory. No matter how awkward and unexpected they might be, there is always something exciting about them. Who is your company for the evening going to be? Will it be a person of your innermost dreams or someone you absolutely can't stand? And most importantly...
How are you going to handle it?
What do:
1. Post with your character! They're now in the middle of a blind date.
2. Comment to each other! When you do that...
3. Go to Random.org and roll a single die!
1.4. Play out the date. This meme can be completely fluffy, smutty, or hilarious. If you don't want smut, you can put that in your subject. It doesn't even have to be romantic.First date-- You've never been out on a date before, so someone's decided to give you a helping hand.
2.On the rebound-- You're recovering from a painful breakup, but your friends/family think they found a great person for you anyway.
3.Not strangers at all-- Someone thought you didn't know your date. Turns out you know them from somewhere.
4.Hideously awkward-- Hey wait, that's your ex/boss/doctor/distant family member! Or, even worse, it's that person you absolutely despise. This will go well!
5.Existing partner-- You two are just acting like strangers to spice up your love life.
6.Future spouse-- Unfortunately, you have to have an arranged marriage. Fortunately, you get to meet that special someone for a date beforehand. How will the night go?
7. ...or, instead of rolling, come up with your own scenario!

Oh god, all this fretting about transmitting thoughts silently when he should be paying attention only to Makoto. Maybe between the two of them, they can figure out how conversation works.]
So. [He repeats the word back softly, and dares to lean in a little.] You're the captain of your team, right?
no subject
[It's nothing for him to be ashamed of, and he's really not, but he's the humble sort, so he puts on a self-effacing smile, letting his gaze drift on the sugar packets on the middle of the table.]
And I was kind of forced into the role when there were just three of us. Anyway, compared to a big and famous team like yours, it's hardly worth mentioning! I hear you are the vice-captain -- is that right?
no subject
[Suga has to wonder if there's something really fascinating about those sugar packets, or if Makoto is feeling similarly overwhelmed by direct eye contact right now. Suga is sure there's no way his own eyes can compare to the striking brilliance of Makoto's, though.]
Oh, we're hardly famous, though that would be pretty exciting someday! "Big" is right, though. It can get pretty rowdy sometimes, though I'm sure it's harder on the actual captain than it is on me.
no subject
[It never occured to him that he had more responsibilities due to his team being (relatively) small. Probably because he knew his teammates, aside from Rei, well before the club had started; not to mention, Amakata-sensei, Gou and Coach Sasabe had been huge helps in corralling everyone together and keeping the eyes on the prize. It all just went smoothly.]
Hm.
[He finally tears his eyes away from the packets, glancing up at Suga with a smile.]
I guess I'm just lucky.
[Not just because of his small team or the help he's received in regards to it. For instance, his dating life has turned out really well!]
Nagisa's our only rowdy member -- I can't imagine having to deal with more than two of him at a time. How do you and your captain manage?
no subject
To be honest, sometimes I'm not sure myself how we manage. But they're good kids, really. They just need to be reminded where to focus all of that energy, sometimes.
[Maybe it's weird to talk about them like that when they're only a year or two younger, but Suga does feel a certain responsibility towards his teammates.]
I don't know for sure, but I think maybe it's a little like having a big, noisy family. Sometimes it's a little overwhelming, but I care about them a lot.
no subject
I know how it is. Sometimes, I feel like I'm their mother or their father. It also doesn't help that they view me like that, too.
[He won't bring up those necessary times he had to get stern with them, arms folded and frowning in disappointment and everything. It'll just seem too weird to bring up on a first date.]
But yeah -- it's like having an extended family, with the training camps and the study groups and the lunches and dinners together. Sometimes I wonder if we're the only team like that. Good to see we're not.
no subject
It is, it's just like that! I'm relieved, too, to hear we're not the only ones. I'm not sure if it's the normal atmosphere for a school club, but I wouldn't have it any other way.
no subject
[And with that, and with yet another little hum of a laugh, whatever first date jitters Makoto may have had start to fade. The remaining tension rolls off his shoulders and down his back, allowing him to finally and fully relax. Suga has that sort of calming effect, he realizes. He likes it.]
Which reminds me...I have to thank my team. And yours.
no subject
Yeah, I think I owe them my thanks, and possibly an apology. I was convinced this was going to be one of their more half-baked schemes, but I guess I wasn't giving them enough credit.
no subject
[Not that Nagisa and co. are particularly cruel, but Makoto tends to think in worst-case scenarios when he's unsure. He's never been so happy to be so wrong.]
I'm thinking of sending them one of the cakes from here. Maybe the Sugawara Koushi Special, just to make it more memorable for them.
no subject
[Buying a thank-you gift for their teammates is just about the sweetest thing Suga had ever heard, especially when coupled with hearing his name like that once again.]
A cake sounds perfect, but I hope no one will judge me for my taste.
no subject
[Honestly, Makoto would have waited for hours if it meant the same result.]
And my team's tastes...well, I doubt they'd judge you for that. Let's just say they're the last ones who should say anything about food tastes.
[Mackerel cake, for starters.]
no subject
[He laughs lightly, toying with his hair a little.]
They'll have to at least pretend, to spare my feelings.
no subject
[That won't be too hard, he thinks. And before his face can get any redder at those thoughts, their waiter returns with their orders, at long last, before being promptly whisked off to attend to something in the back.
Makoto just blinks down at their food.]
...looked so much smaller in the menu, didn't it?
no subject
...Ah. I guess you could call it "generous portions," but this goes a little beyond generosity, even.
[Well, they're both technically growing boys, right? Even if Suga has a lot more growing to do than Makoto.]
I hope you brought your appetite.
no subject
[Just in case anyone actually wants to live on cake for about a week.
Picking up his spoon, he peers down at the tremendously generous portions set for them, then back up at Suga with a little laugh.]
I was so nervous earlier, I didn't eat, so who knows? We just might make a small dent in this today.
no subject
[He twirls his spoon in his fingers nervously, everything in him trying not to go into fuzzy protective mode on a date, don't do that, don't do it...]
If only they'd sent us somewhere with more nutritionally balanced options. I hope you're not absolutely dying right now...
no subject
Haha! I'm fine! I'll be okay!
[And to prove that, he scoops up a small puff of the cream topping onto his spoon and licks it off, giving a smile and thumbs-up of approval afterward.]
Mm!
no subject
...Okay, so it's delicious. He goes for a second bite a little too fast, before he can even think to be self-conscious about seeming like a glutton.]
Uh. I'm probably going to eat an embarrassing amount of this. Later, can we both pretend we didn't see me do it?
no subject
[He also has a feeling there might be a need to stop at a pharmacy and purchase some antacids once they're done here. He's on his third bite by the time Suga's approaching his second, and while he's not entirely certain, it seems as if the taste improves over time. Sorcery.]
no subject
[Suga continues to dig in, every now and then letting an indulgent hum of appreciation escape his throat. Well, he wants to do them both a favor by allowing Makoto to enjoy the food, too, but he's not rude enough to let the conversation lag. So in due time, he swallows and lets his spoon rest a moment.]
Am I a total cliche if I ask what your interests are, outside of club activities?
no subject
[The swirl of his spoon around in the fluff of cream stops once he considers Suga's question. He knows what his interests are -- and what type of person they might make him seem like. A complete and utter bore. He's not even interesting enough to be a nerd.
If he were the lying type, he'd come up with something interesting. For now, all he can offer up is the truth.]
Not much, really. Just playing video games, playing with my siblings, and taking care of stray cats in my neighborhood. Just normal things, I guess.
no subject
Ah, you have siblings! Older or younger?
no subject
Yes. They're younger. Twins, actually!
[And like a complete and utter dork, Makoto takes out his wallet and shows him the pictures within. Two eight year-olds, one boy with mop-styled hair and a girl with pigtails.]
See, here they are. Ren and Ran!
no subject
[Suga leans in and examines the pictures appreciatively.]
Just like tiny angels. I'm an only child, so I'm a little jealous.
