OTHERWORDLY.

Otherwordly Meme

Sometimes all you need is a word to spark off an idea.

1. Post a comment with your character's name, canon, and any preferences you may have (no shipping, no smut, etc.)

2. Leave the comment blank or post a word or two in the body.

It may also help if you list scenarios you would like to play.

3. Reply to other people, either with words you picked out, or words they posted as prompts for a thread.

[There's a quality to him that reminds Joan of Sherlock. That moment when his eyes lost just a bit of focus, his expression faded just a touch, before coming back completely to the conversation. Sherlock does it when a thought has caught his attention, when he's working something out in his head.

Interesting.]

I'm a consultant for the police. [She tilts her head.] But...you know what FBI and local police look like. Which means you've dealt with both of them. Do you work with the police too?

[ That confirms his guesses, somewhat. She has the manner of investigative curiosity, but he hadn't pinned down exactly why. Consultant makes sense. The knowledge puts him at a bit more ease, at least. Yes, he's familiar with this kind of interaction. ]

Somewhat, yes. [ He says it with a small twist of the lips. ] I'm a special agent with the FBI. Criminal profiling. I don't know if you've heard, but I'm the guy who didn't kill all those people. [ But that's hardly something he wants to elaborate on if she hasn't heard. ] What do you consult on, in particular? Missing persons? [ He nods to the cat. ]

Oh. Oh. Yeah...Will Graham, right? My partner was sort of obsessed with your case.

[Sherlock had been sure that there was something weird going on, that the evidence against Will was just too convenient. He had announced Will's exoneration with his eyes sparkling, bouncing on the balls of his feet with excitement.]

We mostly do homicide, but really we'll consult on anything the department needs help with.

[She extends a hand.]
