they are the hunters, we are the foxes - and we run

the ON THE RUN meme

Sometimes, these things happen. Sometimes, you're in just the wrong place at just the right time, or you've made the wrong (or right, depending on your intentions) person mad. Sometimes it's better for everyone if you just go. Sometimes there isn't time for good-bye.

LOST

You've managed to lose yourself somewhere out there, for whatever reason it was. Maybe you took someone with you (willingly? not?), or you found someone else who needed to disappear as badly as you did. You're in your car, or a cheap hotel, or a house by the side of the road. What else can you do but watch, and wait?

FOUND

It could have been as simple as being glimpsed at the 7-11. Your phoneline wasn't as secure as you thought. You locked eyes with the wrong person across the room. Now the house of cards is collapsing, and maybe not just your life, but the lives of everyone you love could be in jeopardy now. The walls are closing in, and your arms are giving out.

RULES

- post with your character's name and canon. if you have an on-the-run AU, or scenarios you might want to play out, mention them here.
- find others. tag them.
- and then, run.

[It would probably help if Hiro was cooperating by communicating properly with Baymax, but instead of answering questions he just rolls his eyes and shrugs slightly. How nice of Baymax, to spell it all out in detail for him, but Hiro's pretty sure he could've just looked at himself and determined he was kinda messed up, and that would've sufficed.

He has this theory - more like a vain hope - that if he rests long enough here, he'll be able to get right back up and walk home himself on his bum ankle. Not to the police station to, say, report that maybe I kinda got mugged but just home, to wallow in the fact he's a reedy little loser who can't take a couple of thugs in a fistfight. He's pretty sure he broke somebody's thumb, though. That was nice.

Muttering quietly under his breath, he tries prying himself off the ground, using the dumpster for support; but just like before, when he tries to put weight on his ankle, it gives underneath him and he collapses to his knees.
]

...Guess not. [He rolls flat onto his back and squints up at a Baymax that looks kind of blurry.] M'just gonna stay here a while, okay? You should go. Those assholes are gonna find me again if you keep standing there giving away my hiding spot.

[Baymax has gotten used to Hiro's stubbornness, fortunately, the robot is just as stubborn, maybe even more so. Sometimes it was difficult to work with his patient, but he always found a way.

Before he can offer a hand to help Hiro steady himself, his ankle gives out and he's back on the ground.

He looks down at Hiro, blinking.]

You are not able to walk on your ankle. Since you currently cannot walk, I can pick you up and carry you back home.

[The way he says it indicates that that's what he's probably going to do, no matter what protests Hiro comes up with. He'll have to come up with something good in order to dissuade the robot from his chosen plan of action.]
bigdamnhiro: (none of that)

[personal profile] bigdamnhiro 2015-02-22 11:58 pm (UTC)(link)
[Ughhhhhh. And Hiro's far too tired and beat up to even argue with Baymax. He doesn't want to be stuck here, relying on his brother's dumb nurse bot to get home because he's too much of a baby to walk a couple of blocks to a bus stop or something with a busted ankle.

Maybe he could convince Baymax to just go away and let him be, but that idea suddenly seems so much worse in comparison, and he's not sure why, except that - he doesn't want to be left alone here.

he huffs quietly and drapes an arm across his face to hide. He's too old for crying.
]

...Fine. But only if you're not gonna tell Aunt Cass.

[As if he's in a position to set terms right now.]
bahalalala: (Your personal healthcare companion)

[personal profile] bahalalala 2015-02-23 08:10 pm (UTC)(link)
[Baymax is thankful that Hiro's agreed to his suggestion, sometimes his patient could be stubborn and often refused to listen to his healthcare advice.

He nods, blinking as he does so. It's easy to agree to the terms Hiro's set, but he doesn't understand why.]

I do not see why I would inform Aunt Cass of the fact that I carried you home.

[It might come out in conversation, but he wouldn't volunteer the information. Hiro is his patient and he will take care of him.]
bigdamnhiro: (and then i said)

[personal profile] bigdamnhiro 2015-02-24 10:23 pm (UTC)(link)
No, I mean, you can't tell her why you carried me home. Or that you did, I guess, because she'll ask questions. You -

[He waves his hands in the air, frustrated, because defining these things to a robot that is not programmed to lie even on behalf of its patients seems fruitless. Finally he struggles back into a sitting position, the heel of his palm pressed to his temple trying to ward off an oncoming headache.]

You can't tell her anything, okay? In fact, I'd rather we not see her tonight at all.

[He has to figure out what to do about this black eye so she won't see it, first.]

bahalalala: (Please pass the tape)

[personal profile] bahalalala 2015-02-25 02:08 am (UTC)(link)
[Baymax blinks slowly as he attempts to process this, not sure as to why Hiro's acting so strangely about the matter.]

I will not approach Aunt Cass about the situation and I will try to avoid her.

[However, if she does start asking questions, he'll offer up the correct explanation, which isn't what Hiro wants at all.]
bigdamnhiro: (back up)

[personal profile] bigdamnhiro 2015-02-27 01:35 am (UTC)(link)
[At this point, Hiro will take what he can get, and just...deal with the problem when it comes up. If it comes up. He doesn't know if Aunt Cass will wait up worrying about him, but he sort of hopes she'll just go to bed and make this all a non-issue.

He waves at Baymax negligently.
]

Fine, fine. Just pick me up and get it over with.
bahalalala: (Huggable)

[personal profile] bahalalala 2015-02-27 02:45 am (UTC)(link)
[Baymax had gone out of the house in a hurry, so he hadn't taken note of Aunt Cass' location.

Going in through the garage is probably a safe bet, she's likely gotten used to all sorts of strange noises coming from it while Hiro works on one project or another.

He nods and gently scoops Hiro up. This is one of the things he's been programmed for, if a patient is unable to move, then he's designed to be able to safely carry them where they need to go.

Baymax makes sure to hold Hiro at what he believes is a comfortable angle and his air pressure adjusts so that his patient isn't sinking into his skeleton. It probably feels something like lying on a giant balloon or pool raft.

Once he thinks that they're ready to go, he takes off towards the Lucky Cat Cafe, going as fast as his stubby, round legs can take them.]
