they are the hunters, we are the foxes - and we run

Sometimes, these things happen. Sometimes, you're in just the wrong place at just the right time, or you've made the wrong (or right, depending on your intentions) person mad. Sometimes it's better for everyone if you just go. Sometimes there isn't time for good-bye.
You've managed to lose yourself somewhere out there, for whatever reason it was. Maybe you took someone with you (willingly? not?), or you found someone else who needed to disappear as badly as you did. You're in your car, or a cheap hotel, or a house by the side of the road. What else can you do but watch, and wait?
It could have been as simple as being glimpsed at the 7-11. Your phoneline wasn't as secure as you thought. You locked eyes with the wrong person across the room. Now the house of cards is collapsing, and maybe not just your life, but the lives of everyone you love could be in jeopardy now. The walls are closing in, and your arms are giving out.
- post with your character's name and canon. if you have an on-the-run AU, or scenarios you might want to play out, mention them here.
- find others. tag them.
- and then, run.

[He doesn't bother taking off his boots, on the logic of it won't really make the couch dirtier at this point and this way he can pretend that's the reason he's so uncomfortable.]
Won't be like this forever, you know.

[ A vague hand gesture in his direction accompanies her casual agreement. ]
Back to normal in no time.
[ Easygoing as ever, she looks unbothered—but she doesn't keep the optimism up. Instead, flat cynicism replaces it as she continues. ]
Except for where normal wasn't a thing because normal was HYDRA in a SHIELD suit. Big SHIELD's gone. The only way it's gonna stop being like this is if Coulson turns out to be right about the remote bases not being flipped.
[ There's no other real, substantial hope that they'll be able to rebuild to the size it was: hell, she's not sure Coulson believes they ever should. Especially not with the U.S. government ready to lynch them all to keep the propaganda black and white. ]

[He props himself up on his elbow to look back over at her and gives her a little smile.]
Don't know what it's gonna look like when the smoke clears, but hopefully they won't be looking for us anymore. Maybe we'll at least be able to hide out in five star hotels instead.

[ There's a soft, warm look to accompany her smile all the same: this is her family, and she's been in tougher spots without one. They'll get through it. The organization will hold together, one way or another. She has to believe that. The good guys will win. ]
