Sometimes, these things happen. Sometimes, you're in just the wrong place at just the right time, or you've made the wrong (or right, depending on your intentions) person mad. Sometimes it's better for everyone if you just go. Sometimes there isn't time for good-bye.

LOST
You've managed to lose yourself somewhere out there, for whatever reason it was. Maybe you took someone with you (willingly? not?), or you found someone else who needed to disappear as badly as you did. You're in your car, or a cheap hotel, or a house by the side of the road. What else can you do but watch, and wait?

FOUND
It could have been as simple as being glimpsed at the 7-11. Your phoneline wasn't as secure as you thought. You locked eyes with the wrong person across the room. Now the house of cards is collapsing, and maybe not just your life, but the lives of everyone you love could be in jeopardy now. The walls are closing in, and your arms are giving out.

And Loki has fooled Mephisto before. Has an even better setup now than last time. Even if he does have an extra body along, well, Daimon is a lot easier to hide in Hell than he himself is.

The hounds cause a big enough disturbance on their own, but the surreptitiously snapped chains here and there that Loki leaves on their way out ought to be helpful too.

Look, Mephisto. Stray hellhounds are coming to eat your souls. Can't have that now, can we?

Somehow... somehow they make it out unscated, sure they're in a different part of Hell, but at least they're out of Mephisto's jurisdiction.

It doesn't mean he can portal through though, but he can get them far enough away they can stop and have a breather.

A breather is nice. The ability to stop, and take stock, and check on the souls he carries with him...

"That was fun."

[hellstorm]

Daimon huffs out a laugh. "Sure it was." It was... a little, but he just loved clawing up all of Mephisto's furniture.

He moves to summon them up a pair of horses, who... look rather displeased at being called, probably because last time he took them through that shitty evil realm.

"Lets try not to piss anyone off on our way through, huh?"

"Don't worry," he says, as he swings up onto the back of one horse. "I'll keep it low-key."

[hellstorm]

He just... turns his head slowly to stare at him. "That was terrible." See him keeping that straight face? It's really hard.

Loki just grins at him.

Daimon just shakes his head and nudges his horse to go forward, taking off into a light gallop ahead of him.

Hell seemed endless, especially along its borders, and there was a whole lot of fiery wasteland between them and their destination.

"Makes you wonder why everyone fights over all this shitty real estate."

Loki shrugs a little.

"Why do people fight over anything? Greed, plain and simple. And since Hell is full of demons - a notoriously greedy species - it's a clear recipe for endless squabbling. Almost as bad as Asgardians."

[hellstorm]

"Oh almost" He peers over his shoulder with a wry grin, slowing his mount into an easy trot so Loki can join his side again.

"Almost. Demons don't pretend to be righteous and honourable," Loki says.

[hellstorm]

"I do." he tosses his head, as if offended, then leans over as if to share a secret with his mount, though he speaks loud enough for Loki to hear. "This guy doesn't think we're honourable."

Loki snorts, a sentiment echoed by his steed, who gets a pat on the neck, and a bacon treat produced from one of Loki's pockets.

"You're half human, and humans do that all the time."

[hellstorm]

He braces himself to turn around on the beast's back, riding backwards so he can face Loki. "What? pretend?"

"Humans are amazing pretenders," Loki says. "As a species, I don't think that there's better in all the realms - have you seen the sheer quantity of fiction Midgard produces? It's astounding."

[hellstorm]

"I suppose when you come from a place where all 'tales' are real, it would be impressive." He leans back casually, bracing his hands on the saddle behind him. "But I don't usually take time for it until it's made for tv." He's taken a bit of a liking to bad syfy original movies though.

[godofbadideas]

"But you still know that it's there, if you ever want to experience it."

[hellstorm]

He smirks and lifts his chin. "Maybe when I run out of dusty old tomes and scrolls to read."

"You'll never run out," Loki says with understandable confidence.

[hellstorm]

"Oh I don't know, I might prove to be immortal and have all the time in the world." Besides time passed differently in Hell, how else could eternity be so eternal?

"And then the day you run out of tomes and scrolls, I'll be there with petabytes of televisual entertainment for your consumption."

[hellstorm]

"When I run out of tomes and scrolls I won't need to keep you around anymore." He teases, reaching out to stroke the nose of Loki's horse... who promptly bites at him.

Loki snickers, and pats his horse's neck, rewarding it with another bacon treat.

"Sure you will. For the televisual entertainments."

[hellstorm]

He glares at the beast. "What, now you corrupt everything you touch?" Loki turned his horse against him!

"This is somehow news to you?"
