they are the hunters, we are the foxes - and we run

Sometimes, these things happen. Sometimes, you're in just the wrong place at just the right time, or you've made the wrong (or right, depending on your intentions) person mad. Sometimes it's better for everyone if you just go. Sometimes there isn't time for good-bye.
You've managed to lose yourself somewhere out there, for whatever reason it was. Maybe you took someone with you (willingly? not?), or you found someone else who needed to disappear as badly as you did. You're in your car, or a cheap hotel, or a house by the side of the road. What else can you do but watch, and wait?
It could have been as simple as being glimpsed at the 7-11. Your phoneline wasn't as secure as you thought. You locked eyes with the wrong person across the room. Now the house of cards is collapsing, and maybe not just your life, but the lives of everyone you love could be in jeopardy now. The walls are closing in, and your arms are giving out.
- post with your character's name and canon. if you have an on-the-run AU, or scenarios you might want to play out, mention them here.
- find others. tag them.
- and then, run.

"Hey," not really looking up from his game, Delsin's tone was concerned. "you alright man?"
no subject
"Yeah. Long road so far is all, definitely feelin' it." A pause then before asking: "Where you headed?"
no subject
"Headed anywhere but here, man..." he gave the other dude a small grin."You know the score."
The conduit cocked his head slightly, noticing that the other boy hadn't faced him yet. Figured he was probably trying to avoid attention, and it reminded him of Eugene a bit.
"So, what do they call you, man?"
no subject
"Iggy." He answered, hand dropping from his hair again, both of them resting atop the backpack so he could rest his chin on them, "How about you?"

He looked to the gate that was loading, the bus flipping it's sign to Chicago. Not far enough for his liking, so he looked over the folks in the bus depot for anyone suspicious.
"So, you been waiting long? Like am I gonna need to start on War & Peace?"

One foot had started bouncing a little, just a constant tap-tap-tap jostle of his shoe against the concrete, he seemed at ease aside from that one movement, and honestly he was. It was just that being able to control some of the noise and therefore some of the echoes back required movement.
"Have to change drivers, clean out the septic, the usual." He gave a little one-shouldered shrug, "Been on a few trips like this, if that wasn't obvious."

While the Grinning, Delsin leaned a bit closer and spoke in a mock whisper.
"Any tips for a newbie like me?"
no subject
His brow creased a little, thinking, "If the rest stop's near food, and they usually are, get something to eat right away and something to eat later." Of course, that might only have been him with his heightened metabolism, "And the bus won't wait for you, so don't dawdle. I mean, they're supposed to, but they don't always."

He gave the other a look, waiting for a response and noticed that Iggy's eyes hadn't quite tracked to him.
"You okay, man?"
no subject
And the next twitch of a smile was much more wry, "And at this point I might as well be a professional traveler. This is my sixth long-haul trip in eight months." Because talking about the travel was better than dwelling on his disability.

Delsin almost started in on the apologies, but when Iggy drove by it he nodded more to himself for a moment and sighed.
"Family far away, or something?"
no subject
"How about you? Going to somewhere or away from somewhere?"
no subject
He felt the wave of sadness rise in him suddenly and turned his head from Iggy, embarrassed.
"Ah... Too many memories, you know?"
no subject
He gave a shrug, "Blank slate can do you good now and again."
no subject
"Whoa, boy do I need a blank slate."he half muttered and looked back out towards the depot.
Furrowing his brows a bit, Delsin squinted his eyes in an attempt to get a better look at the gentleman entering. He seemed a little too official to be slumming it by coach bus and it made the conduit tense in nervously.
"...What the..."he murmured more to himself.
Sure enough, the flashed something that looked like a badge and Delsin had to literally bite his tongue to keep from swearing violently.
" Hey, Ig.."he started, trying to keep panic out of his tone and keeping his eyes on Mr. 5-0 working his way through the depot.
"Where'd you say you were headed?"
no subject
"Boulder." He replied, shifting his weight just a little, gathering his feet under himself into a more stable position, "Why do you ask?"
