On Your Doorstep

On Your Doorstep
They ended up on your doorstep, quite literally. Bloody, possibly. Bruised, most definitely, though the wounds may be mental. You probably don't know them from Adam, yet you couldn't find it in you to turn them away - whether they wanted you to or not. So you opened up your home, just for a little while.
But it's getting to be more than a little while. Both of you are finding a comfort zone, because you didn't simply open up your home. Admit it or don't, but you've opened up your heart all the same.
Their's is slowly following, if its reluctant at all.

Malcolm didn't talk about his own Doctor much for a reason. Their parting while somewhat the same had been painful and for centuries Malcolm had loathed the Time Lord even lashing out at Harrison for simply being one. But he'd made his peace with that pain and clung hard to the Doctor now loving him with all he had.

Malcolm won't remember what he asked the Doctor for in the morning. He so rarely does but in his more unguarded moments he asks anyway because it soothes him and he needs to know.

"Yes," Malcolm says softly, "I'm slightly sore but it's easing up the more I wake up."

Malcolm gets up and smiles as he follows the Doctor. "I didn't get to thank for the massage last night. It was very good."
