On Your Doorstep

They ended up on your doorstep, quite literally. Bloody, possibly. Bruised, most definitely, though the wounds may be mental. You probably don't know them from Adam, yet you couldn't find it in you to turn them away - whether they wanted you to or not. So you opened up your home, just for a little while.

But it's getting to be more than a little while. Both of you are finding a comfort zone, because you didn't simply open up your home. Admit it or don't, but you've opened up your heart all the same.

Their's is slowly following, if its reluctant at all.

[A chuffed laugh, and a crooked grin.] Sometimes.

...ah. Beer, if you don't mind. What do you even keep juice for?

[ he fetches the beer and hands him one before sitting back with another. ] You really want to know?

Save it; you'll still blame me when something starts going nuts in Tokyo because I'm the only mad scientist you know.

With complete seriousness.

[He pulls a face.] Okay maybe not.

Oh shut up. More likely I'll come to you because you may know how to easily deconstruct the thing.

[ he shakes his head, amused as all get out, even as he takes a sip of his beer. ] Mixed drinks, if you must know. And some cakes call for real juice.

[ he just admits that he also cooks normal stuff. who knew. ]

I can't deny the truth in that.

[He quirks his mouth a little, muttering.]

Not actually a Rider, you know.

...Juice goes in cake? You bake?

Tomaato, tomauto. [ he waves a hand as if there was that much of a difference between the two. ] There is little difference between you and them.

[ just sort of laughs. ] It's not that hard. Why do people find it weird?

[He frowns a little, but he's flattered. It results in some awkward squirming around because how do compliments, but it makes him feel kinda cool.] Except for the part where they're made of metal and a lot more efficient than I am.

[A beat.]

And probably don't have ribs to break? Metal ribs? I wouldn't know.

Doesn't seem like your sort of thing. Though I guess anybody can make an Easy Bake oven sinister. [A grin accompanies that statement.]

Do you want to be made out of metal? [ just a sly smile because he was sure of the answer. ]

They do. It just takes more than a simple goon to break them, that's all.

Please, like I would trust getting a cake some where that might involve the Cake Boss. And those things cannot be trusted. I swear Easy Bake ovens are the work of Shocker.

[A roll of his eyes.] Not particularly.
