They ended up on your doorstep, quite literally. Bloody, possibly. Bruised, most definitely, though the wounds may be mental. You probably don't know them from Adam, yet you couldn't find it in you to turn them away - whether they wanted you to or not. So you opened up your home, just for a little while.

But it's getting to be more than a little while. Both of you are finding a comfort zone, because you didn't simply open up your home. Admit it or don't, but you've opened up your heart all the same.

Their's is slowly following, if its reluctant at all.

Still, you coulda been really living it up in there! It's not like you don't deserve it.

[After defeating the Spiral King? Anyone deserves to live in luxury for that one, in his book.]

[He shrugs noncommittally]

I'm not really comfortable with all that luxury and stuff. Also? Lordgenome was at least twice my size. I don't think I'd fit in his chair too well.

Screw his chair! Get yourself a new one, and put it in its place! [Kidding, he laughs, even through Simon's tightening of the bandages around his chest. It's a pained laugh, but he can't let something like that take away from the fact that they were alive, kicking the rebel Beastmen's asses and living free.]

But I guess if you want to live out here in the middle of nowhere, [He winks-] I can't stop ya.

[Simon chuckles to himself, tying off that bandage and going for some butterfly ones for cut cheeks.]

Damn right. I'm Simon the Digger, not the Spiral King. And I have to spend enough time there working anyway.

Why don't you take a vacation? Is it really that busy up there?

Well between that and the stupid Beastmen attacks? I don't have time.

Man, that's totally lame! I bet if you asked to have those guys cover out in the field you could! But I suppose if something went wrong, not having you around would really cause some trouble....

[He trails off, the seeming defeat of a vacation for Simon evident.]

But hey, let's forget about that. Come on bro, you can't tell me you never have any free time though. You big wigs up there gotta relax every once in a while.

[He laughs self-deprecatingly, giving Yosuke a level, if amused look.]

But nowadays? With all these people coming out of the underground? I'm lucky if I get to spend more than a couple hours a week with Nia.

Oh yeah, Nia, I haven't seen her hardly at all lately. How's she been? I heard she makes the scariest food on the surface...

[He shudders, wincing again in pain from moving a bit too much.]

She's doing great!

[He waves Boota off, and the Pig-Mole scampers away to find something...]

But I don't know why people always say that. Her cooking is amazing! I eat it pretty much every day!

It's just a rumor! Good to hear that it's not true though! [He laughs nervously, realizing that maybe that wasn't the best thing to say.]

Guess I'll have to hope I get a chance to taste it!

[But was it actually good or has Simon lost the functionality of his tastebuds due to her cooking?]

I'm sure she won't mind. she enjoys cooking, definitely. Rossiu likes it too, and so does Leeron.

[And really, he hasn't caught on they're humoring her...]

That's...great! She's supposed to be coming and making lunch for all the new recruits sometime soon, and uh! And I'm really excited about it now!

[He sweats nervously now, he can't back out of trying it now that he's told Simon about it. Could it be true that even stick-in-the-ass Rossiu and that creepy Leeron guy likes it?]



Just tell me Leeron isn't going to be there...! That guy is way creepy-!

Dude, he has that freaky look in his eyes that makes you have nightmares for a month straight!

[His voice gets lower, almost like he's trying to whisper so Leeron doesn't hear him.]

And he does that creepy wavy finger thing-!

It's like he wants to...you know, like! Oh man, it's giving me the creeps just thinking about it!

No? I mean, he's my friend. he's been there for all of us, and he's half the reason we're even alive. Seriously, I don't know what your problem with him is, but knock it off.

[Leeron is his friend. Period. He may be flamboyant, but that's his business. Simon is not a man to judge.]
