On Your Doorstep

They ended up on your doorstep, quite literally. Bloody, possibly. Bruised, most definitely, though the wounds may be mental. You probably don't know them from Adam, yet you couldn't find it in you to turn them away - whether they wanted you to or not. So you opened up your home, just for a little while.

But it's getting to be more than a little while. Both of you are finding a comfort zone, because you didn't simply open up your home. Admit it or don't, but you've opened up your heart all the same.

Their's is slowly following, if its reluctant at all.

[Also here you can start since Gundam'll be at Souda's doorstep yes.]

[It had been a difficult sight to watch. Something that just made his blood boil to the point where he couldn't stand back and simply be a spectator. Humans were disgusting, and the way they treated animals was worse. Of course, even with his anger, it wasn't as if he could take on an entire gang of thugs on his own...So it was no surprise when he got his ass handed to him, but he was successful for the most part. While he was battered and bruised, probably bloody in quite a few places as well, he had a shivering bundle of fur and skin and bones in his arms. There was a slight limp in his step - one that'd be more pronounced if he wasn't trying to keep the travel as steady as possible for his new charge - as he walked up to the door and gave it a few gentle but firm knocks. He's a bloody mess but...hopefully the mechanic wouldn't mind.]

[Of course when Gundam knocked, the mechanic was still asleep. It seems as though he had fallen asleep sometime in the middle of the morning, while tinkering away at his bike. So after a few knocks, rather than the front door being answered, a grumpy and messy Souda opened up the garage instead, poking his head out to peer at who had the nerve to knock so loudly at his front door.

Though the initial crankiness and annoyance disappeared almost immediately, upon seeing Gundam there. And rather it was replaced with shock, and an odd feeling of dread. He approached Gundam curiously, rubbing the back of his head as he talked.]

Oi, I thought you weren't going to come over today... [He doesn't notice quite yet how messy Gundam is, be it because the other boy isn't entirely facing him or because of the sleepy state he was in..]

[It should be pretty apparent to his friend when he does turn to look at him. A split lip, a black eye, various abrasions and cuts decorating his cheeks and jaw and forehead...it was quite the fight he'd been in. Who knew what was under his coat and shirt, but there is a little blood peeking out through the bandages on his arm and the bottom of his shirt.

The teen clears his throat, looking from Souda down to his arms and then off to the side.]

...my apologies for the change of plans. If you would prefer I remain true to my word, I can leave.

. . . [His shock and dread multiplied upon seeing Gundam so torn up, and it takes him a good moment before he can fully grasp the situation and stutter out some words.]

Wh-what the hell... [He slightly takes a step forward, and nervously runs a hand through his messy hair.]

D-did you get in a fight or something?

Mmm. [His eyes trace back to the other teen as he gives him a nod.]

You...could say that, yes.

[And then he very, very gently gestures to the bundle in his arms by lifting said arms up slightly.]

I could not simply stand by and allow vermin to viciously abuse an animal as these men had been...I couldn't abandon this child of Cerberus when he was in need.

[This is nothing surprisingly new for the breeder, though usually he's more careful in how he handles situations. This time was apparently different.]

J-jesus Gundam... [He understands Gundam's soft spot for animals and wanting to help one in need but to go this far...

He shakes his head slightly and moves to Gundam, gently pushing him towards the front door.]

Get your ass inside.

[He doesn't say anything in reply, just looks down at the shivering creature in his arms again and allows himself to be shoo'd inside. There's not much for him to say...even if he feels like maybe he should apologize, but at the same time he's not sorry at all. If it's a problem for him to be there like that...well, again. He could leave and go elsewhere.

So instead he simply complies.]

[He gestures towards the couch when the two enter the home, and leaves himself to fetch whatever medical supplies he can find. He doesn't return with much, though. Hydrogen peroxide, bandages, medical tape, and a few small tubes of off-brand disinfectant gel. But hey, at least it was something.]

You can handle taking care of it's wounds, right? I have no idea how to take care of a hurt animal so.. [He'll just lay out the medical supplies on a nearby coffee table for now.]

Of course. [The moment he'd sat down on the couch, he'd carefully unfolded his arms and allowed the small animal - a cat from the looks of it, now that it's not longer hidden in his protective embrace - to lay out on his legs. This allowed him to look it over more carefully, and when Souda had returned with the supplies there was only a worried expression to greet him. Though he was clearly grateful, moving to inspect what he'd brought.]

If you could, I require a towel as well. A hand towel should suffice. [He wasn't speaking much or very loudly, the injury to his lip making that a little difficult.]

Yeah, s-sure.. [He leaves and returns after a few of minutes searching with a couple of different kinds of towels. A bigger, normal sized one and a few small hand towels. And after setting them next to Gundam, he sits himself down on the floor nearby, giving him a worried and stern look.]

...is it gonna be okay? [Are you going to be okay?]

[Taking the towels with a quiet thanks, he uses one to gently start brushing it off. One of the smaller ones. Now that he thinks about it, he's glad the boy had brought a few. He still doesn't answer him as he finishes this task, taking the cleaner hand towel to soak a small portion of it with the peroxide, carefully starting to tend the larger wounds on the feline. When he does speak, there's a bit of strain in his voice.]

It is too early to safe for sure but...no. I do not believe this child of Sphinx will survive.

[There's a soft, slight downward twitch of his lips, but it's only there for a moment. Gundam remains carefully neutral, focusing all of his effort and energy to tending the cat instead of feeling upset that it may not live.]

...o-oh I.. I'm sorry.. [Well that's...

He's not entirely sure how to respond correctly, so he'll just. Gently reach over to hold onto Gundam's arm for comfort.

Truth be told, he'd like to hurry up and fix up Gundam's wounds but he'll patiently wait until Gundam's done with the poor kitten first..]

[There would be now way to tear him away from the cat to do that anyway. There's a large amount of appreciation that he respects this as well.

The boy tenses up a little under the touch, but diligently continues cleaning and treating the cats wounds, working the antibiotic gel carefully into the smaller ones and...seeming a little unsure as to what to do for the wounds too big to use that on.]

You have nothing to apologize for, Kazuichi. The fact that humans can be so...detestable is no fault of yours.

Y-yeah, but... [He goes quiet at that, still a bit unsure what to say at a time like this. Though, while being quiet he watches Gundam work, and notices the hesitance about the bigger cuts.]

...yikes, the little guy must've gotten in a serious scrap, huh? [He stands up again and leaves, but only for a second to fetch something -- a small suturing kit.]

Here.

[There's a grumble, murmuring about how scrap is the lightest way you could put it, but he doesn't fully voice these opinions. It was no scrap, but thinking about the details now would only serve to anger him again.

Er. More than he already was.

But he's a little surprised when Souda returns with the kit, taking it gingerly and thanking him again.]

Being able to seal these wounds should somewhat improve his chances...you are doing this creature a great service.

[Once the needle is threaded, he positions the cat in such away that it's head is resting against his bandaged arm - if it struggles, that arm can be used to at least take most of it's fearful attacks - and carefully takes one of the larger lacerations between his fingers. He's so gentle in closing it with his fingertips to make suturing easier, quietly shooshing the cat as it protests. Though after only two runs of the needle he stops, focusing on trying to stop the feline from struggling.]

...Kazuichi. May I make a request for your assistance?

Yeah, what'cha need..? [He sounds a little nervous, because he doesn't really.. want to have to help with the kitten. Stuff like sewing wounds makes him a bit squeamish, to be honest... but it's also not like he can really say no to Gundam, either.]

Wash your hands first. [Now that the animal has mostly calmed down once again, he turns to look at Souda.]

I won't expect you to wield the needle, but...I do need help holding him still. I cannot do all of this with only these two hands of mine...

[Clearly much to his dismay. He wanted to be able to help the creature on his own, but there was just no way...]

Oh. R-right, sure. I'll go clean up, then. [Probably a good idea, since he's been touching oil and greasy engines all night..

He washes up then, making sure he was very, very clean, and holds his arms out for the cat.

As much as he didn't want to have to hold the kitten, he was also... touched, really. Since he's aware of how important this must be to Gundam, and how he hardly never lets another human touch any animals in his vicinity.]

[Gundam is careful to show him exactly how to hold the animal. Really he only needs the cats hind end to be held steady and firmly, as he didn't want to leave the mechanic in harms way should the feline continue scratching and biting.

Which it surely would.

But once he has it settled, and Souda is holding onto him where he needs him to, he picks up the needle again.]

Just hold him firmly at the hips. He will fight - he still has a lot of fire in him - but it should not be more than you can handle. Do not be frightened by it. He will not be able to reach you with his teeth and claws.

[He's quick to return to the task at hand. There are three wounds that require sutures. You can do it, Souda.]

I'm not scared of getting hurt.. but yeah, I'll be careful. [He gently, but firmly, holds onto the cat while Gundam sutures it's wounds.]

[There's a soft grunt in reply to that, but beyond that the boy is silent as he focuses on his job. At least, silent beyond trying to soothe the animal. Gentle coo's, soft words, whatever he can do to relieve some of his anxiety. Because it does struggle and it does fight. Getting stitches hurts without anything to dull the nerves somewhat, but he didn't have a choice. It's not until the last stitch is in place that he speaks again, carefully cutting the thread and setting the needle aside for now.]

You're free to let go now. All that is left is to wrap the injuries. That I am able to manage on my own.

[He'll do such as that then, and start picking up the bloodstained towels.]

....you're gonna stay the night here, right?

I wouldn't impose upon you in such a way.

[It's stated matter-of-factly as he works on finishing up with the kitten.]

Though...as it were, making it home may be difficult. There is a reason I brought an injured animal to your door rather than simply returned to my own abode.

[Because he doesn't have any medicine here nor his first aid kit, not to mention food for the beast he took in...he couldn't expect Souda to carry things like that simply because they were in a relationship.]

But nonetheless, I will not stay if it will be a problem. I cannot ask you to care for my new charge so suddenly like this, after all.

Are you kidding? [He smiles, just a bit, and folds his arms across his chest.]

If you didn't stay it would be a problem. I mean, just look at you! [He huffs a little, and lightly smacks Gundam on the head.]

I'd be really worried and that's totally against my character so you might as well just stay here, alright?

IS IT WRONG TO CALL SOUDAM TRASH, "TRASH"
