It started out quietly, and then, quite suddenly, you're caught in a storm. Time to find cover. Nothing much to do but to wait it out.

Scenarios listed below for those who want 'em.

i WHERE:
001 PLAYGROUND - Well, you can try to hide under the slide or maybe in the jungle gym... at least you're some place fun?
002 PARK - Always happens, caught outside trying to take advantage of the weather... and it ends up pulling a fast one on you.
003 STORE FRONT - Better hope they have an awning you can take advantage of
004 THE BEACH - Not exactly the best place to be during a rainstorm, however it is possible to get caught in a sudden storm
005 WILD CARD - Anyway you want it


ii HOW:
001 TREE - Not the best cover, but it'll have to do, stay close to the roots and you won't get too wet.
002 UMBRELLA - Most conventional... Kinda boring. But it works.
003 NEWSPAPER - Not permanent, but it'll have to do. Good luck
004 BAG - Well... y'gotta do what you gotta do.
005 NONE - You know what. You're a rebel. You don't need cover. Screw convention
006 WILD CARD - that's the way you need it


iii WHY:
001 REJECTED - Welp. Rejection sucks. And no one will see you crying in the rain.
002 WAITING - For the bus? For someone else? For some revelation? What are you waiting for.
003 MELANCHOLY - Sometimes the best place to feel a bit down is out in the rain.
004 HAPPINESS - Is everything going your way? Are you singing a refrain while walking down the lane? Just singin. Singin' in the rain.
005 ANGER - WELL YOU KNOW WHAT. SCREW YOU TOO RAIN.

*That is distinctly a look of amusement on his face as he detaches his shoulder armor.*

[You mean like how the pink has spread across her cheeks in the last five seconds.]

Try not to look so pleased. But you're going to have to tell me how to help they didn't make many Barbies with bat wings when I was growing up.

What, I'm not allowed to take it as a complement?

*The shoulder guards get dropped on the couch, followed by the chest plate, which is apparently designed to slide up and off the wings.*

I'm going to be folding my wings up so that they're as narrow as possible, just pull the shirt over them like they're arms.

I guess you are all things considered. A normal guy would have looked by now.

[It's a murmur coupled with quiet surprise as she stepped a little closer. Her nose wrinkling just the slightest bit put off as his armor piles up on her pretty orange couch.]

Pretty sure I can do that for you without exploding.

I like to be able to say I at least have better manners than to treat someone like eye candy when they aren't willingly showing off.

*Speaking of willingly showing off, he tugs his shirt out from under his belt and pulls it up over his head. His wings fold in, fingers wrapping around the arm slightly and elbows straightening so that the limbs are narrow and pointing down. As expected, however, the spandex sticks to his skin instead of sliding off.*

Most men don't think like that, they just assume it's willing eye candy based on the cut of the clothes.

[She sees what he means by needing some help as she moves behind him to work the shirt from his wings. Careful as she moves the material over first one wing and then the other. All the while trying to ignore the expanse of skin before her and how her fingers itch to glide over it again.

Not that it works entirely as the tips of her fingers do brush against his skin when she finally pulls the shirt free.]

There you go.

[She drapes his shirt over his shoulder.]

*His tail twitches upward and he leans slightly into that touch. It's kind of a disappointment that it's so brief.*

That rationalization doesn't exactly work when there's more on display than is intended in the design of the outfit.

[patricided]

[And she takes a step back for just that reason.]

Go finish changing.

[Picking up her towel, Lady saunters off into the little curtained area she called her bedroom to dry off and change into some dry clothes. Coming out a few minutes later barefoot in an oversized sweater that reaches mid-thigh and towel drying her hair again one last time as she crossed to the kitchen to put coffee on.]

*He walks out of the bathroom a little bit after her, now wearing a pair of crisp, dark blue pants and buttoning up a lavender dress shirt that looks to be made of silk.*

Well, that's different.

[patricided]

[She turns water reservoir in hand and tilts her head confused by what he means. The sweater sliding down a shoulder to reveal the pale yellow strap of her bra.]

What is?

You wearing something so casual.

[patricided]

So?

[She returns to her task and fills the reservoir and returns it to the coffee machine. Adds a filter and grounds and turns it on to brew. She leans a hip against the counter as she returns her attention back to him.]

Not any stranger than your fancy shirt.

I dress up now and then, just not on jobs or around that pigstye of Dante's.

*Can you feel him rolling his glowing eyes?*

But it's a good look for you. Makes you seem more approachable.

[patricided]

I can't exactly blame you.

[She can yes. She is also giving him the most unamused look ever at the comment about being approachable.]

I'm not in a profession where I can afford being approachable, remember?

Not even by friends in the same profession?

*He's crossing his arms and raising an eyebrow at you now, Lady.*

[patricided]

Not typically.

[superstylishsquid]

Ouch...

*And his hands move from over his chest to his hips.*

Good thing I'm practically immune to cold.

[patricided]

[She just makes a face and listens to the coffee machine gurgles along. She takes two mugs off the mug tree and sets them on the counter for when it's done.]

Don't get sassy.

Then don't flirt with me and then remind me that you try to keep everyone at a distance. Do you have any idea how frustrating it is to be invited closer and then have the door slammed in your face?

[patricided]

[She huffs, her hands disappearing into the wide sleeves of her sweater.]

Don't make it so easy for me to do then.

Flirt, or remind me that you don't want anyone that close?

[patricided]

Both.

[superstylishsquid]

*He sighs, arms falling to his sides as he turns toward the couch.*

Fine, have your distance. I won't flirt if you don't want me tempting you.

[patricided]

[She sighs herself as her gaze falls to the floor.]

It's not temptation so much as it is being easy. ...Too easy to do.

*He was already starting to head toward the couch, tail low to the ground, but he stops at her words and glances back over his shoulder.*

Not everything that's inviting is dangerous, you know. Sometimes things are appealing because you can see the reasons why you'd want them.
