Someone, whether it be a friend or a total stranger, has fallen asleep on you wherever you happen to be; you are a rather comfortable pillow to them. What do you do?

[ No, Tony's not thinking straight, he's off in calculation land. ]

I am not letting Pepper shop for me again.

[ Tony grins. ]

Well, it's her or Rhodey and knowing Rhodey, he'd buy you a suit.

[wrathfulkhan]

...yeah, okay, fine, I'll let her shop for me. I get veto power, though.

But I think I'd look good in a suit, [he teases.]

[anormalironlife]

[ Tony grins. Gene would look fantastic in a suit... or being peeled out of one. He shouldn't think about that right now. ]

I'll even help you argue her to a standstill.

[wrathfulkhan]

[Yeah, and Tony wouldn't look too bad in or half-out of one, either. Nothing for it but to try it out sometime, right?]

Much obliged. Though I don't think we'll be able to take it further than that.

[ This is something they will have to test the theory of. For SCIENCE. ]

Well, no. It is Pepper after all.

[And Gene's only too happy to be the guinea pig. First, they need suits...]

I don't think the Supreme Court could argue Pepper past a standstill.

[That's what the Supreme Court does, right?]

We argue her to a standstill all the time.

[Tony feels the need to point that out. ]

Right, but not past one. When's the last time you ever got your own way in an argument with Pepper?

[ Tony opens his mouth. He's totally beaten Pepper in an argument! He totally has!

... Hasn't he? He's pretty sure he has. He just munches on the last of his gyro, instead of answering. Shut up, Gene. ]

[wrathfulkhan]

Yeah, thought so, [Gene teases, and swipes a french fry.] God help us if she becomes a lawyer.

[anormalironlife]

She's still set on being a SHIELD agent. Even though she already has her rocket boots.

[ Tony finishes off the gyro, leaning back against the grass. ]

More power to Nick Fury.

[wrathfulkhan]

More power to him? [Gene snorts.] More like more luck to him.

[He lies back on the grass too, gently bonking Tony with his head.]

I keep telling her she's too smart to be a SHIELD agent.

[ He's full, the sun is warm and Gene is right here. He scoots over and puts his head on Gene's shoulder. ]

But really, I don't want Fury getting his hands on her suit.

[wrathfulkhan]

Just wait, [Gene says, teasing him,] give her a few years, and she'll be running SHIELD. And she's too smart to let Fury at her suit, anyway.

Though I wonder if he'll come for me... [Gene knows he's done wrong, but he doesn't want to face SHIELD's justice and end up in a cell. He's spent enough of his life in one, anyway.]

[anormalironlife]

[ Tony sighs and rolls so he can lean over Gene just a tiny bit. ]

He's not going to come after you, Gene. I promised, remember?

[ If Fury comes after Gene, he'll have to go against Iron Man and more importantly: Both Starks. ]

[wrathfulkhan]

I trust you, [Gene says, reassuring him.] I just don't trust him. [The Mandarin is a big prize, and he knows that, and he thinks that prize may be too tempting for Fury to let it slip through his fingers.]

[anormalironlife]

Fury won't do a thing.

[ Tony is sure of that. He knows that he's got Fury by the metaphorical balls when it comes to the Mandarin. ]

You're safe, with me.

[wrathfulkhan]

I know. [He tilts his chin up to kiss Tony on the forehead.] It's the only reason I come out in public.

[anormalironlife]

[ He doesn't want forehead kisses, Gene. Give up the real thing. ]

The only reason?

[ Pout. ]

[wrathfulkhan]

Well, there are a couple others, [he admits, and gently kisses Tony on the lips.]

[ A quick flare of Extremis, and there's no way someone can take pictures of what he's about to do. His hand goes up and he pulls Gene into a real kiss for a minute, because he's not distracted by SCIENCE right now. ]

Good, because you're going to be fine, Gene. No one's going to take you from me.

[wrathfulkhan]

[Had he been goading Tony into a proper kiss? Noooo, don't be ridiculous, that'd be such a silly villainous plan.

But if it was...it worked.]

You promise? [He says it with a smile, but it's easy to tell there's a bit of fear there.]

I promise. And if you want, I'll release the twelve cellphones, three video cameras and five digital cameras around us and let them witness it.

[ They're not all pointed at them, but that's not the point. ]
