Once Upon a Dream
(I Met You) Once Upon a Dream

Dreams are complicated and amazing, aren't they? They can be fascinating, fantastical, boring, scary, comforting. You can meet people that are gone from your life, there, or even - sometimes - dream of people who you don't know, yet.
So this is just it. Meeting in a dream.
Warning: some of the prompts can be better avoided by the younger crowd, for sexual, violent, or body horror reasons.
How to Play
- Comment with your character and preferences.
- Reply to others.
- Have fun.
- Make sure you leave people a way out. It may be a dream, but don't tag into a stranger's open prompt with something that might be explicitly disturbing or way too intimate without checking in with them, first.

Prompts
There are two major categories.
I. In a dream.
II. After you wake up.
They have different prompts, but you're free to mix and match as desired - and the prompts are merely suggestions, after all. Go wild!
I. In a dream.
A. Kind of dream.
1. Mundane
2. Fluffy
3. Hot
4. Sad
5. Nightmare
6. Fantastical
7. Free for your imagination.
B. Kind of meeting.
1. You know them in life. You meet them normally - friends, allies, acquaintances, coworkers...
2. They were once part of your life, but they're not, any longer. Left for good, you fought, they're no longer living...
3. Strangers.
4. Enemy! Defend yourself! Or maybe reach a truce.
5. Free for your imagination.
C. Kind of dream experience.
1. You are as you are in the waking dream - same gender, abilities, etc.
2. You're enhanced - you can do things you don't, when awake, like flight or supernatural strength or knowing a different language, or something else that you normally lack.
3. You're depowered - whether you have special abilities and they don't work in the dream, or you're lacking something else that you usually have - sight, mobility, speech...
4. You're physically changed - different gender, different race...
5. You're a different age - younger or older.
6. Free for your imagination.
II. After you wake up.
A. Kind of dream.
1. It was a lovely dream. You have a great feeling that stays with you after it.
2. It was a horrible dream. Nightmare, or it just went on and on...
3. It was a confusing dream. You're not sure how to feel about it.
4. You don't really remember much about it. But you think there was something...
5. Free for your imagination.
B. Kind of an encounter.
1. Expected - bedfellow, roommate, friend, colleague, and you get to tell them about the dream.
2. New - you met that person in the dream! Or they're just a stranger you feel like you should share the dream with.
3. Impossible - how is that person even there?
4. Enemy - why them? Why now?
5. Free for your imagination.
C. Anything else you want!
Did you wake up with a skill or ability you didn't have? A new fear? A secret you never knew before?

Pinkie Pie | My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic
Tonight, though, Pinkie Pie is sound asleep in her very warm bed, Gummy hugged tight to her chest, after a particularly fun day spent hanging out with the girls and with Cheese. She was pretty tired by the time she went to bed, so she's only now beginning to dream.
But something feels a little... different, right from the start, and she can't really put her finger on why.]

He can tell right away that this isn't going to be your average dream, but it doesn't seem like a bad one initially, either. Hm. Strange...]

...at first.
They all seem that way at first.
His arms clutch Boneless while he sleeps, his brows furrowing. In his sleep he turns over, gritting his teeth as the dream starts to take an abrupt turn southward, and suddenly this isn't a dream anymore, is it, it's a full fledged nightmare and he can't...wake up...]

HellOOOOO! Anybody in here?!?!
[Only silence in return.]
Huh. Well, I guess I must be going somewhere if I'm walking, so if I keep going forward I'll get to where I need to be!
[That cheery nature leads her further into the void.
After what feels like only a little while, despite the space around her looking no more or less vacuous, it feels like the air around her has opened up, as if she's left the "tunnel" and arrived... somewhere. And in the distance she sees someone or something...
And as she moves closer to the scene to get a better view, an uneasy feeling begins to fill her being.]

His body, tangled in thistles and thorns to the point where he couldn't move an inch, helpless as it grew around him. Being trapped in one place, unable to move, no freedom, nothing....
He lets out a low moan, thrashing helplessly against the vines that hold him fast to the ground, but it only seems to make them grow faster.]

The recognition hits her as if someone swung a cold, heavy hammer into her stomach, knocking the air out of her in a terrified gasp.]
CHEESY!
[She sprints to his rescue... only to be knocked onto her back by an invisible wall.]

Saionji Tsukawaki | Hybrid Child (fandom oc) | OTA
Junichi Shimura | Kamen Rider Blade
this is going to end terribly isn't it (also fitting keywords omg)
He'd be willing to bet that tonight would be no different from the usual.
Things weren't looking too favorable already, as exhausted thoughts slipped away and shifted into another dream. Here he was back in his home world (how many times had it been by now? He'd lost count), and he was walking down painfully familiar streets. As familiar as the world was to him, there was always something off about it in dreams, and he was aware of it even though he couldn't see it just yet.
Something was different somewhere. Was it at home? Suddenly he found himself in front of the mansion he used to live in, with no real explanation for how he got there so quickly. Despite an unsettled feeling, he was going to try opening the front door anyway...no matter who or what may greet him on the other side.
^U^ what gives you such an impression?
Just as Junichi made for the front door he saw the door knob begin to turn as he was about to reach for it. He grew a little pensive before firmly grasping the other end of the knob and forcing the door to open.
He froze and stared at the young man standing before him looking puzzled. This definitely was different from his usual dream. Softening his expression to a smile he spoke up.
"May I help you with something?"
n...nii-san don't make that face.......
Rarely (if ever) did Daiki's words make his dream turn out for the better, but his dream-self wasn't completely aware of that either. He was going to try even if there was ultimately no point. Even if it hurt.
"Brother." He swallowed hard, somehow managing to maintain eye contact. There was more - plenty more - that he wanted to say, but somehow it was hard to think of how to put it succinctly. And so he fell silent while he internally struggled with words.
What face are you talking about Daiki? ^U^
His smile dropped only to be replaced with a frown and a look of concern. He's reaching out to place a hand onto Daiki, before speaking in a quiet tone. This was just a dream, but he figured he could still play a role in this. It was no different from when he was awake, anyway.
"What's wrong? You don't look so well. ...why don't you come inside?" He'll offer while stepping aside for Daiki to walk in.
THAT ONE ;__;
The mansion interior was just the way it had always looked throughout Daiki's childhood. A few details were changed, like the backyard windows opening out to a city instead of the lush rural landscape that made up 90% of his home, but those were unimportant details in comparison to Junichi. Junichi, who Daiki turned back to now, after finally finding some words to say.
"Brother, are you..." 'Okay? Not brainwashed?' He wasn't quite sure how to best address that, so instead he continued on with a different, but still important, question. "Where is Fourteen?"
^U^ so silly Daiki
Brother why this ;_;
Problem, Daiki? ^U^
VERY MUCH PROBLEM
oh Daiki what a rascal you are ^U^
I need an adult ;_____;
I AM an adult!! ^U^
NO YOU'RE NOT YOU'RE A MONSTER sobs and slams bedroom door
Little brother no :C is it because I ate your pudding....

^U^ ......I can buy you a new one?

rusty creaky muse incoming
For some reason, he needs to run. As fast as he can run. He's not sure why, just that he absolutely has to do this. To escape something? Maybe. The beginnings of dreams are always weird and hazy.
He'll only stop if he should spot someone, anyone who happens to be here with him in this strange abandoned place.]
steamrolls through with a rusty muse too
As far as he was concerned he was out sealing Undead with Miwa and Magaki which was why he too was running as Glaive in search of the Undead that had escaped them at the last moment.
His mind was urging him to find it quickly and seal it before it was gone from their grasps forever. Yet as he ran he saw nothing but unrecognizable buildings.
When spotting Serizawa he stopped to call out to him.]
What are you doing out here? It's dangerous, sir!
flattened rusty muse pancakes
...to find someone standing there in strange armor, like nothing he's ever seen before.
(Well, okay, it isn't exactly true. Like most kids he knew, he'd grown up with TV shows of costumed superheroes fighting bad guys and saving the day; if he were back at that age, he might have recognized the armor to be Kamen Rider-esque at the very least. But that was from way back when he was still in grade school. He hardly remembered those kinds of shows now, when he had a very busy life and little to no interest in superheros anymore.)
Serizawa stares at the strange armored man, but doesn't attempt to get any closer just yet.]
Who are you? [He shouts loud enough to be heard, or maybe a tad louder than that. He's pretty good at being louder than necessary.]
tastes awful : T
[He sounds surprised when Serizawa questioned him. Then again, maybe he was scared. That had to be it, right?]
Don't worry I am here to take care of the Undead.
[He'll reassure the man across from him before walking closer.]
Please calm down. I wouldn't want to alert the Undead to this location. It wouldn't be safe if you were attacked.
try adding syrup then-
[If it isn't obvious from his incredulous tone and expression, Serizawa has no idea what you're talking about. He gives the armored man's form another good look before pointing out the obvious:]
Hold on a second. You didn't answer my question!
[Yet he stays in place while the armored man approaches. Whoever he is, he doesn't sound hostile at least.]
GOOD IDEA and berries too-
but they have to be rust berries /sage nod
can we move away from the rust tho......
but y tho, what else would you use
