minor injury meme.

You or your meme partner has been hurt, but don't worry! This time around it's not that bad. You can still limp your way out of this mess.
INJURIES.
1. Sprain/strain. How did you screw up walking?
2. Broken bones. Simple fractures still hurt.
3. Cuts. Hopefully one of you has a sewing kit.
4. Burns. Location, location, location. Let's pray this one isn't on your ass.
5. Concussion. No, they're most likely not holding up fifteen fingers.
6. Other. I'm not a doctor.
HOW'D IT HAPPEN.
1. Stupidity. You did this to yourself.
2. Accident. Is an unintentional attack still an attack?
3. Attack. Don't lie, you deserved it.
4. Other. It's probably still your own fault.
WHERE'D IT HAPPEN.
1. Home. Did you remember to invest in a first aid kit?
2. School/Work. This should be excellent for getting you out of doing stuff!
3. Outdoors. Predators like the smell of blood. Clean up asap.
4. In the water. Hopefully there aren't any sharks!
5. Other. Like a hospital. That'd be handy.

But he slides the door open, then takes her arm and slings it over his shoulders to help her in. And then he asks the million dollar question-- ]
Uh, does Medi-Gel even work on concussions? [ Because the substance is still pretty new to him, considering he'd been hopping around in very distant part of the galaxy before now. ]
no subject
Unfortunately not. It can heal just about anything, but concussions ain't one of them. Guess I'l have to... rest or something.
[ A pause. When was the last time she really did that thing called resting? ]
Huh.
no subject
Something wrong?
no subject
Not really--just thinking about when the last time I took a breather was.
no subject
And? What was the verdict?
no subject
That it was a long time ago. I don't know if you've noticed, but I'm kind of a workaholic.
no subject
[ But he drops the act almost immediately. ]
You're in desperate need of a vacation.
no subject
[ She has a feeling she can't sass her way around this one, though. ]
no subject
[ Kasumi, not Goto. It's how you know he's serious. ]
This was a job. There were guns. You got a concussion.
None of those things add up to vacation.
no subject
[ She knows he's right. But taking anything like a vacation while the Reapers are plowing through sectors of space like giant cuttlefish-shaped steamrollers? ]
You know I have good reasons not to, though.
no subject
Yeah, I get that.
Just-- you know. All work and no play makes Jack a dull boy. Shit like that.
[ He gives brief thought to the Guardians’ last meeting with Nova Prime, her suggestion about possibly tasking them with using the Infinity Stone again, in light of the Reaper threat. It had been framed as an off-hand remark, but it was obvious that she was testing the waters. What he doesn’t know is that his expression of blank-faced terror had pretty much ended that line of conversation, at least for the time being. What he does know is that she may have a point. It may become a necessity rather than a request, one of these days. ]

She slumps in her seat a little at the thought, still holding the ice pack to her head. ]
... Yeah, I hear you. Maybe I'll have myself an Illium stay-cation sometime? Haven't been back there in a while.
no subject
Illium is shady as fuck. I can't believe you actually live there.
[ Obviously he hasn't been there, and he still doesn't even know her address, but at least he has a planet as a marker, now. It was probably one of the first things he had asked when they decided to be more than Friends. Like, "Hey, we can totally do this, but I really need to know where the fuck you actually live." ]
holy god I tl;dr'd about a damn apartment I'm gomen
The apartment on Illium has gone through a lot. It's gone from, basically, her and Keiji's love nest, filled with stuff--things they've stolen and kept for themselves. Then it was a haunting reminder of him, a refuge for her as she turned away jobs (for the first time maybe ever) in the days, then weeks that followed his death. Then it became too much for her; she mulled over their parting words over and over, I'll find you again--I promise, as her grief turned vindictive. She happened to discover that Cerberus was trying to track her down around the same time. They got too close, and while she should have abandoned the place altogether, she couldn't bring herself to, so she left it as it was and pursued Cerberus instead. Then it largely stayed in that state for longer; she returned to grab a few things when she struck a deal with Cerberus and relocated to the Citadel until she joined the Normandy crew.
There was a time, when the crew had business to attend to in Illium, that Kasumi looked out on the vista in Nos Astra, for the first time in long, long time. Then she told Shep that she had once thought of moving to Illium but wouldn't be able to bear the Illium lifestyle of blind consumerism--and then she paused because oh right, I did move to Illium and I still have a place here, but it didn't feel right (she kept that part to herself).
Then it became somewhat of a home, again, after leaving the Normandy with Keiji's graybox and some degree of closure. It was then that she finally brought herself to look at Keiji's things again, even touching and moving them around. She was always the tidier of the two, even though she always had an "organized chaos" approach to arranging things. She still didn't spend very much time in it, especially after she pledged her support to the Crucible project, but it stopped being a place to avoid or a place where I have all my stuff and started being a home again.
When Peter had asked her where she actually lived, for sanity's sake, she had paused for a second not because she wasn't sure if it was too risky to tell him, but because it was at that moment she realized, yes, it really is home.
Of course, she still isn't into the whole Illiumite lifestyle, but hey, at least it's a nice place to be. ]
Oh, it's definitely shady. Maybe not in an obvious way like Omega, but trust me--there's some sketchy things going on in those trade floors.
So you'll visit me there sometime, right?

[ Her question gives him pause, though, and he smiles a little. It’s not quite shy, but it’s hesitant. Obviously he doesn’t have any such conflicts with his own residence -- that being the Milano. He loves that damn ship, and he’d never hesitate to call it home; and he’d never give it up for anything.
(Except that one time, on the Dark Aster, when he crash landed his ship in hopes of taking out Ronan. At the time, though, he didn’t think there was any going home for any of them.)
He wonders if this is, like, another one of those milestones, at least with Kasumi -- getting invited to the galaxy’s best thief’s hideout. He also wonders if she’ll blindfold him on the way there.
(Kinky.) ]
I mean-- yeah, sure, if you want me to.
no subject
Concussion and all, though, she notes the change in his expression. This might actually be a milestone because she reads hesitant, and not terrified or extremely uncomfortable? ]
Well, I'm not going to force you to, Peter. Just a suggestion.
no subject
So his expression smooths out into that sort of cocky half-smile. ]
I meant-- if you want me there, I'm all yours. And if you have to put a bag over my head and take some weird, circuitous route so I can't backtrack my way to you, that's cool too.
No old-school handcuffs, though. The metal digs into my skin something awful.
no subject
So when he finishes, the utterly amused look on her face is completely visible to him. ]
Hmmm. I wasn't going to do any of that, actually, but those are all great ideas.
no subject
Her amusement, though, gives him pause. ] I was kidding, y'know. Like, "Ha ha, what a funny joke, Quill, of course I won't put a bag over your head. We'll use the door like civilized people."
no subject
Then how about a blindfold?
[ Great minds think alike, after all. ]
no subject
no subject
Me? My goodness, Peter, that is downright perverted. I am just a young, innocent Japanese woman.
no subject
no subject
Woops, you're right.
no subject
Alright, Goto, your concussion's making you drunk. You're in no state to handle heavy machinery.
