a) dorm life - sharing a living space with lots of other people your own age can be an adventure on it's own. roomies can be your best friends or a nightmare. but it's guaranteed you won't leave without a story or two.

b) toga! toga! toga! - it's a toga party ala animal house! or maybe another themed party. it's most likely frat-tastic. but hey, the key is to mingle. maybe even hook up or get into a fight. or both.

c) go team go! - whether it's tailgating or you're at the game, you're there to root for the home team. or just... be seen. or for the beer/food.

d) study study so mr. a will be your buddy - college can actually be about schooling! in the library, in the dorms, on the quad, with a friend, a lover, a tutor, it doesn't matter where or who you get your study on with, just that you rock that exam.

e) sock on the door - you know what that means. it's time to get busy beneath the sheets (or on top, why not?) in a bed built for one. hopefully your roommate will respect the rule.

f) shots! shots! shots! - let's face it, college can be one giant keg party if you let it. and hey, what's that? there's a kegger tonight? better go and get your drink/high/beer pong/ridiculous behavior on. time to make some of those mistakes you're supposed to 'learn' from!

g) morning after - remember those mistakes you were supposed to learn from? well you can't exactly remember them. waking up on the lawn or in your bed or someone else's doesn't help that much either. and who is this next to you? is that a new tattoo or just a sharpie dick on your face? it's up to you.

h) spring break! - to the beach, to the ski lodge, time to go on an adventure with friends or on your own. check out the slopes or senor frogs, just try to avoid the dreaded hangover.

i) wild card! do what you want! there's no paternal supervision anyways. (bonus points for someone who does a paintball episode)

[The living room smelled of fresh popcorn and hot butter, and there were other bowls of candy and chips laid out on the coffee table, and a pack of beer on the ground beside the couch.]

We have the place to ourselves, my housemates have all gone off to parties and probably won't be back until tomorrow morning, hungover. Thanks for coming over...you probably had your share of party invites yourself.

I was invited to a few, but I've been looking forward to this. A quiet night is is actually really nice. Thanks for inviting me.

[He helped himself to a seat on the couch and reached for two beers. One for Steve, of course.]

So! What're we watching tonight?

You're welcome. I don't mind parties really, just prefer them smaller and quieter than the ones I seem to get invited to mostly.

[He shrugged and took a beer before handing over the stack of movies he's borrowed from friends.]

[Bucky smiled as he sifted through them, then stopped at one.]

Poltergeist. That's a classic.

[Steve grins and takes the disk from Bucky to start the movie.]

Good choice, I don't think I've watched that one in years. I had a friend in highschool who likes the scary stuff too but he always chooses one of those foreign films from Thailand and Japan.

Those aren't bad, but let's start with this.

[He takes a drink from his beer as Steve gets the movie started.]

[Steve takes a seat on the couch which is really two small for both of them at once and puts the bowl of popcorn between them.

This one is good. Nightmare on Elm Street always got me when I was a kid.

[Steve's eyes were fixed on the screen and he pops a handful of popcorn into his mouth absently.]

Not exactly horror but I really liked Adam's family when I was a kid.

[That makes Bucky laugh right away.]

Admit it, you still like that movie.

[He shrugs.]

It's alright, I like it, too.

[One arm is casually placed behind Steve, just to get more comfortable.]

[Steve ducks his head, but he's still smiling.]

Yeah, you got me. Yeah, I still like it. I like the TV series too.

[He doesn't seem to notice the arm but leans back into it just as casually.]

You have it? We can watch that movie next.

[He reaches for the bowl of popcorn.]

I do but I also have Nightmare on Elm Street too. You don't want to watch that one next?

[Steve takes a sip of his beer and reaches for the popcorn bowl at the same time.]

Let's see how we feel after this one.

[Maybe they'll want a break from the scares. When their hands meet in the popcorn bowl, he smiles a little, then picks up a piece of popcorn and offers it to Steve's lips.]

Alright.

[Somehow, movies were always less scary when there was pleasant company to watch them with. He raises and eyebrow at the offer but opens his mouth to take the popcorn from Bucky's fingers.]

[Bucky settled in to watch the movie. Sometimes he reached for his beer, sometimes the popcorn, and sometimes his hand just fell to rest on Steve's thigh, as if that were a natural place for it to be.]

[Anyone else he would have pulled away already and would have kept a healthy distance away but Bucky feels very comfortable. Like it was natural and right they can touch and sit close to each other like this even if they'd only met each a short while ago. And by the time the movie ends, they're sitting thigh-to-thigh and Steve is leaning just a bit in Bucky's direction.

When the credits start playing he turns to Bucky with a smile.]

Start anther one?

[It was nice watching the movie, since he hadn't seen it in such a long time, but it was even better watching it with Steve.

He smiled and nodded.]

Sure. Though I'd hate for you to get up.

[Bucky was so comfortable with Steve against him like that.]

[He'd thoroughly enjoyed the film; it was one he's only seen once or twice, made better by having good company at his side to share it with.]

Well, unfortunately I haven't suddenly developed telekinesis so unless we want to watch a blank screen I'll have to get up eventually.

[The key word was 'eventually'. He was feeling rather too comfortable to move right now either.]

[Eventually. Bucky smiled a little, just fine with letting the credits roll for now. Before Steve decides to get up, he leans in and tries to press a brief kiss to the other man's jaw. Hopefully Steve won't mind the peck.]

[Minding something like that is the last thing on his mind. He flushes a light pink at the brief peck and opened his mouth to try to say something hopefully suave but instead what came out was a flustered:]

[He smiled, a little embarrassed, but tried to hide it.]

Sorry, should I not have done that?

No, no! Just...

[He didn't think this has been a date but now...

He leans forward to return the kiss, this time on the cheek.]

[Bucky laughs a little at how chaste the kiss is.]

You thought I wasn't interested?

[Steve shrugged, the beginning of a grin tugging as his lips.]
