Steve's not a nerd, Steve's just really old.

[He pulls a face at him, sticking out his tongue. Jerk.]

Anyway, punching's pretty good, but swords are even better.

Callin' Steve old, and you're using a weapon from the Dark Ages.

[He's never a hundred percent certain how far he can push, what's good teasing and what's being annoying. Finn shoves his wrist over his nose, watching carefully.]

Bet you liked it. Bet you were really good at it!

[ he shrugs with one shoulder ( the right one ). ]

It was there. Good for stabbing.

Yeah. Yeah, they . . . they are.

[Wow, um, what do you even say to that? Jeez.]

Steve told me he wants me to start trying other weapons. Guns and shields and junk.

[ sorry. kinda. ]

I can teach you. And you can show me how to use your sword. If you want.

Yeah! I'd like that. Guns always end up hurting my arm, you know? The, uh, the recoil or whatever.

[owies]

Gotta learn to brace for it. And maybe use a smaller gun, 'cause you're little.

[the_human]

[He kind of set himself up for that, didn't he? Still, Finn sticks out his tongue again.]

I'm still growing.

[owies]

[ he just. hums noncommittally and puts his hand on finn's head.

Butt.

[He punches his hip-- not really hard, not like it'd matter anyway.]

Bet you were even tinier when you were fourteen. I got muscles!

[owies]

Everyone has muscles. Didn't have a sword, though. Y'might grow bigger than us.

[ not likely, not with the serum, but still. he's just a kid, and he's always had a softness. ]

[He grins. Of course Bucky is just saying it to be nice, but still he puffs out his chest.]

Yeah! Hey, you know what we should do? We should watch a movie tonight. Like, an official movie night. Only it's just you and me, but still. Cuz, like, we need to hang out more and junk.

[owies]

You say "and junk" a lot.

[ casual observation. he's not exactly used to people asking to hang out with him, unless it's sam or nat. a beat passes. ]

What movie?

[the_human]

I dunno. I think Tony has about a billion.

[Cheerfully, in the unselfconscious way he has, he leads them toward the television room.

Roughly a thousand are on file, though many have not been watched, Jarvis chimes in, and Finn glances up, like that helps.]

What's, like . . . cool? I mean, you know, like, fun!

[Those are rather unspecific parameters, sir.]

Well, uh . . . hey, how about something Steve likes? He's got good taste!

[And Steve tends to shy away from films that are action oriented, full of blood and guts. They all do, honestly, they all of them too traumatized in various ways-- but still, Finn wants to be safe.]

Just not cartoons. Oh, maybe we could watch this!

[And then he's standing on the couch like he's five years old, waving his hands and sorting through the movies on the television screen. He doesn't need to, he can just use the remote or ask Jarvis to skim-- but he likes it when technology makes him look cool.

Eventually, he settles on It's A Wonderful Life, because it sounds cool but also kind of mellow.]

[ he follows finn because what else is he supposed to do, watches his exchange with jarvis blankly until he pulls up the movie, and then he's gaping just a little. there's something - ]

I wanted to see this.

[ during the war, there were advertisements in the weeks before - he doesn't remember all that, but he remembers this. ]

Can we watch it?

[the_human]

Yeah!

[He glances down and then jumps so he lands with a bounce next to Bucky.]

Yeah, totally!

[He starts the movie, sprawling his legs out-- not quite flopping over him, but close. He probably will soon.

Unfortunately, Finn's not really ... good at keeping quiet. He tries at first-- but soon he's twitchy, his head tipping one way and then another.]

That's not how I pictured angels.

[ finn's fidgeting doesn't bother him, and his voice doesn't pull his eyes away from the screen but he answers almost immediately anyway. ]

They ain't real.

[ might've been a time he'd say otherwise, but - he's more interested in george, anyway. ]

Yeah. Probably not.

[He's never really given much thought to religion, honestly, but when he has, it's seemed . . . nice, in its way, but not for him.

He keeps watching, though soon his fidgeting means he's watching upside-down, feet in the air.]

Did it bother you, everything in black an' white?

[owies]

[ he snorts, amused, and shoves finn's feet sideways without looking away from the tv. ]

Yeah. Made it real hard to tell when a dame was blushing.

[the_human]

[He nudges his foot over, sloooowly creeping it towards Bucky, trying to see how far he can get without being shoved back.]

Haha, gross.

[Girls.]

I don't think they do that anymore. Blush, I mean.

[No, Finn, they just don't around you. On screen, George and Mary are getting all kissy and lovey, and he pulls a face. He's starting to like girls, and kissing, and stuff like that, but not when he's around other dudes, because it's embarrassing enough on his own, thanks.]

[ it doesn't make him uncomfortable; wouldn't've in the 40s, 'cause he and steve and the boys talked about everything, and doesn't now because it's just a movie and he can't understand the intimacy of it. if he frowns, it's for that, only. ]

Evolution, probably. Made people think they were dainty and weak. They ain't.

[ peggy carter was hard and fast proof of that, and so was sarah rogers. it would make sense, if it were true. he doesn't think to question it. ]
