Oi! Nagisa!

[Rin took Sousuke's advice immediately and pounded on the door. Unlike the other two, he didn't think his friends were uncomfortable. He was the uncomfortable one. Kissing had been mentioned and lips were too close and he was still blushing.

No answer came. Only giggles - of course - and was that something about resetting the time?

He slammed his hand into the door repeatedly.]

Let us out! Right! Now!

[All of Rin's effort didn't win them an escape. Instead, he managed to backhand Haru. Straight in the ass.]

[Haru gasps, jumping forward a little toward, you guessed it, Sousuke. But his attention's still on Rin and his stinging ass. Thanks, buddy.]

Rin-

[Why oh why is there a lock on the outside. Haru siiiiighs, not moving away so as not to get MAULED again.]

It isn't working. If it's Nagisa, not many things will.

[Of course. Of course it didn't work. It wouldn't be that simple. No, instead Haru had to jump forward from being hit who-knows-where (he actually did not want to know where, thank you), and insisted on sticking closer than he had been.

Thanks, buddy. Real swell of you there, Rin. Enjoy your spare few inches there.]

What will?

[Because he apparently needs to be the one to ask.]

[Rin didn't register what either of his friend's said. He was preoccupied with the pink on his cheeks deepening to a healthy shade of red. Luckily the closet was poorly lit, but Rin still instinctively raised a hand to cover his face.

Nothing was going to work. Sousuke's question only deepened Rin's frustration. Was he just doomed to suffer minor embarrassment after minor embarrassment? He wouldn't have it! But he didn't have a single idea of how to escape.

Not from the closet, at least.

He could escape from the cycle of awkwardness that made him feel damned pathetic.

Rin gave Sousuke a look that was almost apologetic before speaking.]

Haru-

[Rin reached forward, placing his hand on Haru's shoulder heavily and turning the boy to face him. Pulling him closer. Looking down at him with squinted eyes, willing the pink from his cheeks.

Then finally kissing him.]

[Once again, things happen too quickly and too unfamiliarly for Haru to react properly. By this point he's kind of gotten used to being shoved against fences and lockers and vending machines, used to people getting up in his face to yell at him about something. He's not exactly used to being tugged into a kiss. His eyes widen in surprise, seeing Rin from a perspective he never thought he'd experience.

He's not...entirely sure what to do from here. He's never kissed anyone before. Still, he has a few ideas. He figures it's probably most polite to close his eyes, assumes he should wait for Rin to decide when to end it. It's probably not the best kiss in the world from Rin's point of view. Actually, it's most likely synonymous to kissing an unmoving poster on the wall. Not that Haru is feeling anything negative toward the kiss in general- he just has no actual concept of what 'kissing back' is supposed to entail.

He supposes it's a good first kiss. In any case, there's no drool running down his chin or anything that counts for something, right?

Rin's very warm, though, like there's fire under his skin and he smells a little like chlorine and it's so wonderfully familiar Haru relaxes with a sigh.]

[If things were happening too quickly for Rin, for Haru, then things were certainly happening too fast for Sosuke, and yet everything seemed to be happening in slow motion - the last few milliseconds of a race.

One that he'd lost, apparently, over a stupid game, and there's little else he can to but stand and press himself into the far wall of the closet to give them space, or something, because he really did not want to be there right at that moment.

At least Haru didn't seem to be reciprocating all that much, if at all. That had to be some consolation, had to count for something, right? So there isn't much else to do but grit his teeth and shove his hands in his pockets and wait it out, looking off into the dark corner of the closet instead of directly at them, because that way he can at least say it isn't outright jealousy he's feeling.

(Because why would he ever be jealous of Haru. Really. Don't be stupid.)]

[Rin couldn't quite bring himself to shut his eyes, not all the way. His lids were heavy. He wanted to see Haru's face. Of course, there wasn't much there, but Rin knew him well enough to make out the surprise, to see the uncertainty. That was enough - Rin shut his eyes.

Even if Haru didn't know what he was doing, Rin didn't notice. He wasn't exactly adept at kissing either, and every bit of stoic acceptance on the other's part was returned with lips pressed heavily on Haru's. They threatened to part once, but he thought better of it, instead sighing and sucking Haru's lip.

His stomach twisted like he was standing on the starting block, crouched and ready to jump into a race. The feeling was so strong, he could only liken it to those times he'd stood along side Haru. A heat welled up in him and it was all he wanted to pull his friend closer, to attempt to imitate that intimacy they'd experienced so many times in the water.

Rin's eyes opened, full of intent, but instead of finding any relaxation in their connection he found Sousuke. He was another subtle friend, but another well known friend. Rin could see the discomfort in the taller boy's stature. He disconnected from Haru almost immediately, the only contact remaining was Rin's hand. It had drifted up Haru's shoulder and come to rest on the nape of his neck, dangerously close to weaving fingers into hair.]

Sousuke?

[His focus shifted almost completely - save for that lingering hand.]

[Haru is- well, on another planet entirely, really. Not exactly cloud nine but perhaps something similar. He barely registers Rin calling out for Sousuke, only aware of the hand on his neck and the memory of Rin's lips on his own.

The weight of thought and emotion settle awkwardly in his arms, and he rests his forehead on Rin's shoulder as he thinks.

It was just a kiss, one that he didn't think would matter too much. So why does he feel so flustered? So strange? The dim lighting in the closet is a blessing, certainly. He didn't understand the turns in his stomach - was it the mackerel? - or the twitch in his fingers.

He peeks up to see the door still closed despite the kiss. Surely Nagisa and the others would have opened it by now, wouldn't they?]

[That was... an unnecessarily long kiss for a stupid game. An unnecessarily long and tender kiss for a stupid game, and Rin's hand lingers on on Haru even as his concern appears to shift to him.

Because isn't that always the way.

There's always some unfathomable tether to him, and its still grating, still stirring sickening feelings in the pit of his stomach, and all he can really do now that Rin has his attention is to take it for all its worth.

He could even be construed as gentle (enough) as he moves Haru aside - and that contact should be broken, he wants it to be broken - and before he's even really thinking about it, he's looped an arm around Rin's waist and has leaned in to take his kiss.

And it is a proper kiss, thank you very much, with only a moment of hesitation when he realizes what he's doing before taking it for all its worth.]

[Rin wasn't sure where he'd been with Haru. Where his action would take them. He didn't know any of that and right now, he wasn't focused on it. The only haze of that interaction left in his mind now was that he would like to return to it sometime. He'd be left to sort out his sure to be clusterfuck of emotions later.

When Haru's forehead met Rin's shoulder the redhead's fingers finally found their way into his hair. The touches were tentative, only daring to tangle with the hair at the base of his neck. Rin didn't even realize he was doing it, and so when Sousuke disconnected them there wasn't any protest.

He'd never meant to hurt his friend, and he'd almost begun an apology before Sousuke took him in his arm and pressed in for a kiss. Rin had never quite stopped blushing, and the depth of the taller boy's kiss only made it worse. He wasn't quite sure how to respond, only that he wanted to. Rin met each movement of Sousuke's lips with his own.

There was a warmth here too, but it was nothing like the fire that ignited within him when he was with Haru. This was much more akin to the feeling of the warmth one seeks in wintertime. It was safe. Any tension, a result of embarrassment or otherwise, began to melt from his body. Rin's hands were awkwardly raised between them, but soon his fingers found themselves latching onto any fabric beneath them.]

[Haru wants out of this fucking closet.

Were Rin and Sousuke in some kind of relationship? But that didn't explain why Rin initiated their kiss. Unless- no. Nothing makes any sense. And that weirdness hadn't left, the strangeness that made him shift on his feet. He realizes he knows little to nothing about Rin and Sousuke, but perhaps this explains Sousuke's behavior to him, why he gets nothing but glares and disdain.

This is far more complicated than Haru had anticipated.

He just wants to be back in a pool, now, immersed in something he understands. The warm embrace ~~of Rin~~ of the water is all too familiar and comforting. Nothing like the storm brewing beside him now.]

[Good. Get out of the fucking closet.

But wouldn't that be so... convenient, if they were in some kind of relationship? There would be no reason for mixed feelings, there would be substantial reason for his disdain towards Haru - more than he could ever really hope for or want - but... is that what he even wants?

He's not sure.

There's closure to the awful aching feeling he got watching Rin and Haru, but in its place there's the wondering strange fluttery feeling that his own turn ignited.

He didn't want that, either. It would have been so much easier to keep going on as-is, without the complications of the game.

Haru goes completely ignored as the kiss continues on, though, in some effort to either resolve or ignore lingering feelings.]

[Like Haru, Rin preferred the intimacy of a pool to these physical exchanges. They weren't awful - he'd enjoyed his kiss with Haru and he was certainly enjoying Sousuke's as well. It was simply foreign to him. He had no idea how to reciprocate, how long one normally held a kiss, and what to do when tongue came into play.

Because it was absolutely happening.

Rin allowed Sousuke to do as he'd pleased, and now they were caught in something far...wetter...than he'd anticipated. The enveloping and relaxing warmth began to fall away, replaced by something more urgent. His hands tugged at Sousuke's clothing, and Rin didn't want to know what he meant by that. He sucked in a quick breath, and with the exhale came a soft hum.

The sound was enough for Rin to jerk and pull away.

That was enough of that.

He shifted away from Sousuke, sidestepping as necessary to put some distance between them.]

You two. [Rin gestured quickly between Haru and Sousuke, hoping desperately that they'd turn to each other immediately and leave him alone to blush and wipe what he thought was a little spit from his lip.]

No. This should be enough. [It may seem as if Haru's heckles are raised because they are. He scowls and tries for the doorknob, doing his best to ignore the discomfort in his chest.]

[Well, it had been nice, almost enough to forget about Haru's presence, almost enough to believe there was something there.

Even if he totally did not want that at all, nope.

Never mind that the kiss had gone a little... further than originally intended. Rin had reciprocated, which had only really been encouraging, and then he was pulling away and any illusion of whatever that had been crumbled away, back to a stupid game in a stupid closet. With Haru.]

No. It has to be fine.

[Right?

Either way, you do not get that moment of privacy, Rin.

At least not until blushing becomes a contagious thing. And then there is some very pointed looking up and away going on.]

[Rin wasn't the most perceptive of people, so while he noticed some tension in Haru, he had absolutely non idea the source. He assumed that it had something to do with not wanting to kiss Sousuke. Which was reasonable, they didn't know each other very well, but if their display moments ago had done anything, it should have reassured Haru that it would be enjoyable, at least.

There was a scowl on Rin's face too. He didn't want to be stuck in this closet any more than they did. If Nagisa was watching them somehow, he'd want everyone to kiss everyone else. Which meant Haru and Sousuke. But here they were, one groping for the door and the other looking away - both of them not listening to him.]

It isn't enough! It isn't fine! I did it! [He could feel pink rising in his cheeks again. Stop that. It was just a game.] Now you have to do it!

[Haru pointedly ignores Rin and knocks on the door with a little more emotion than anyone would expect from him.] Nagisa, we're done. Don't change the rules so suddenly without notice.

[He can't explain why he's so adamant against doing anything physical with Sousuke, whether it was from their previous antagonistic encounters or from the display before him. But he knows for certain that his stomach is pinched, his frown set.

Nothing is happening, and Haru is tempted to knock the door down.]

[There's more pointed ignoring of Rin than he should know what to do with, considering the recent surplus of attention he'd just gotten from the both if them. Still, despite Haru's pleas, the door still doesn't open.

So it looked like they'd be there for a very long time, because he was similarly averse to doing anything physical with Haru, much less anything that could possibly be construed as affectionate.

And an enjoyable kiss would be the last thing he planned on giving him.

But for once they agree on something! Make that two on 'team kick the door down'.]

[Rin could feel his eye twitched at the abundance of ignoring that was going on here. Haru ignoring him. Sousuke ignoring him. Nagisa ignoring them all. If the little shit had forgotten about them and gone to eat some cake or who knows what else, Rin would murder him.

But not before he murdered his two friends for not listening.

Breaking the door down was an option, and Rin would join that team in time. Now, however, there was an issue of his authority! Rin raised both hands, took one step to stand between his two friends, and slapped them both upside the head.]

Hey. Kiss.

[Or he'd shove their heads together and make them.]

Hey-

[Haru places a hand over his head, very unimpressed with everything all of a sudden. His frown is defined, an unusual feature on a normally neutral face.]

Don't say unnecessary things. We've satisfied the rules by now.

No, we haven't.

[Its getting ridiculous. The original point was for him and Haru to kiss, and they hadn't yet, and he didn't especially feel like letting anyone get hurt trying to break down the door. Or, more accurately, he didn't want to get hurt (~~worse~~) doing so, and he didn't want Rin to get hurt helping Haru.

Haru could do what he wanted.

That didn't mean he moved to satisfy the conditions, though.]

[Rin answers Haru's frown with a deeper one of his own, as if they were having some sort of frown competition. If Haru would just listen to him-!

Sousuke finally spoke reason, and Rin turned to him with a cross, yet appreciative smile and nod. Nothing happened. Sousuke knew Rin was right, and he still wasn't doing anything. What a bastard.

This was getting stupid. They were stupid! Rin raised his hands again, this time thwacking them to his friends' scalps with purpose. He grabbed any hair he could get ahold of and pressed their faces together. Hopefully the suddenness of the motion would get him some distance before they started resisting.]

Just do it!

[Haru's gonna punch Rin in the dick when they're out of this closet. But with a growled Fine!, Haru braces his hands on Sousuke's upper arms - careful, though, not to jostle his shoulders - and finds the other's lips.

His aggressiveness manifests in the smaller details: the scrunch of his eyebrows, his taut muscles, the way he pushes himself into it, and the energy in his fingertips.]

[Haru will have to race for first strike. Still, there's a moment of surprise when Haru actually goes for it, and that moment lets Haru's aggressiveness win out for a few brief (humiliating) seconds.

But before long, Sousuke is pushing right back, pressing Haru to the door as he holds tight to the front of his jacket.]

[With how stubborn they were both being, Rin almost didn't expect the two assholes to actually go through with it. When Haru pushed forward, Rin's hands immediately released their hold and he stepped back. It was the redhead's turn to be a ~~jealous~~ wallflower.

Haru was putting so much of himself into the kiss. Rin noticed that immediately. It made the back of his neck light up. He wasn't sure how much the others had watched of his kisses, but Rin was absolutely unable to tear his eyes away. He watched Haru's hands grip Sousuke's arms and he watched the way his breath swelled in his throat. He watched the way Haru's lips looked when pressed against another's and wondered if that's how they'd look.

He was too dazed to be embarrassed. Then there was another emotion.

When Sousuke pushed Haru against the door it was almost enraging. Was that really necessary? The way his friend's hand knit into his rival's jacket caused Rin's eyebrows to furrow and an open mouthed scowl to deepen on his face. He watched his taller friend now, seeing how tense his jaw was, seeing aggression enveloping every little move of his body. Sousuke was incredibly forceful, but it didn't make Rin feel nervous.

Just wistful for when he was in Haru's position.]
