[ With the Vytal Festival Dance coming up, everyone seemed to be pairing off into couples - whether with romantic purpose or just so they didn't have to feel awkward going alone was always a variable, but naturally Jaune had asked his teammates about their plans for the dance. His were open for now (Weiss's latest shutdown having crumbled his eagerness to ask her), and Ren and Nora seemed to be going together as expected (though Nora insisted they were going as friends and not "friends wink wink").

But when he asked Pyrrha, her response had simply been that she didn't know how to dance.

For Jaune this was unacceptable - no one on his team was going to be robbed of a good time by a little thing like inexperience, so Pyrrha will come back to the room one evening to find the beds have all been shoved unceremoniously to the corners of the room, leaving a fairly large open space in the middle where Jaune stands waiting.

As he had been for over an hour.

He looks both tired and relieved when she finally shows up. ]

Steve always hated these Galas. His clothes were always too tight and uncomfortable, and if he actually moved the wrong way, he'd rip a seam or pop a button or something. He didn't care that he looked great if he couldn't be comfortable. On top of that, there were always too many people trying to talk to him and get on his good side. Politicians, and heads of organizations, giving him obviously fake smiles and compliments, putting him on the spot, was never Steve's idea of a nice night out. He honestly would have preferred to stay home.

He had no idea how Tony did it.

However, he was here and he'd spent a majority of the evening drinking champagne that did nothing to him and more or less avoiding most people. Occasionally he'd spot Tony from across the way and give a little wave or smile before the man was pulled away to speak to someone else. A few hours of polite smiles and small talk later, he found himself next to the genius. The band was playing something slow and classic and Steve could have sworn he'd heard the song before.

In fact, he had. It had been when Tony taught him how do dance and they spent hours on the empty floor in the tower. Steve would occasionally stumble over his or Tony's feet before they'd have to start all over again. They weren't fancy moves, just basics, and Steve had picked it up in no time. He had said he'd never dance in public right now with the band playing a familiar tune and Tony finally away from all the other party-goers, it seemed right.

The bar they had slipped into after an assignment had been to unwind with a couple of drinks (which they had). It was getting late and they really should have been going. Yet they were not only still there, but out on the dance floor. Antoine couldn't even remember how they got there.

He was in close proximity where nearly all his senses were filled by Skye...he inhaled her scent on every breath, watched her face as she spoke, listened to her voice over the music and felt her in his arms. The beat slowed down but neither seemed to move off the dance floor. His hands moved from her hips around to the small of her back, pulling her in for the slow dance.

So when the handsome man with swagger had asked her to dance, she'd giggled like a pre-teen and accepted. And there they were, turning slow circles in the middle of the dance floor, as she desperately tried to calm the racing of her heart.
