I have a suggestion here.

Since it seems like lots of people want their memes to stay on the first page as long as possible, what about trying putting more memes on it?

I think we could probably put 35 or 40 memes on the first page without any problems, though I'm not sure about the loading times if we put on any more than that

i'm all for shipping and smut, but jesus christ bakerstreet has really turned into TLH junior. yes, i know the scrollbars exist, but good christ, people, add some generic memes for a change. go back to TLH.

Same here. I like smut and thread plenty of it, but 3-5 smut memes in one day is overkill. I don't even bother seeing if any of them might actually interest me anymore, I just scroll right on by.

TLH allows memes once every two days. If it's a boring meme like it so often is, the useless mod that 'runs' the place has this advice: "go post on bakerstreet."

You can see where this creates conflict.

If you're posting a meme and you take more than a paragraph or so to describe what your meme is about, I just scroll past unless it really grabs me. I'll admit that it's a lazy thing to do but I feel a little brevity would go a long way.

I think a lot of people's problems would be solved if people would actually use the tag system available for their posts. Even if the only tags used were "gen meme," "shipping meme," and "smut meme."

I agree, tagging would help out a lot. Not just gen/shipping/smut, but also the warnings or if someone was looking for fluff versus angst because that's what they wanted to play that day.

1. People please use your tags so players can filter for what they want.

2. There's too many absurdly specific memes, like Persephone, Make Love with Scars and Incest Meme where there's only a limited number of ways to play out the scenarios. There's often other memes that have the basis of those whole memes as an option.

3. The tl;dr and confusing meme descriptions. I want to play, not read someone's clumsy attempt at writing a bodice ripper and scratch my head in confusion.

I'd be happy if people would stop dumping their characters in memes and not tagging back at all.

At least saying that you are not interested via PM would be fine if you are being tagged or don't have time to tag back or at least give a heads up for back tagging...

This it agree with. Or be polite enough to go "thanks for the interest, but I'm not really into playing with that character/that ship/that set of images/etc.". I'll admit to not always doing this, but I do try, as it seems impolite not to.

Since an anon earlier said that they couldn't tag their posts - can you check the community settings and allow for anyone to tag, not just members of the community?

More then half the complaints stated here boil down to "Somebody is posting memes that I don't like and having fun in ways I don't like, make them stop.", it seems.

They just don't seem to get that other people have other opinons about things.

I think some of the problem is that it all feels really lazy. Reposting the same memes over and over with little variation. Blank top-level comments that don't give anyone anything to work with-- you don't know someone's writing style nor do you have much to work with. The prompts are nice, but they're a little hard to work with sometimes. I know it seems limiting for the person starting the thread to write up a scenario (no matter how vague), so I understand why people might be resistant to the idea. (I worry about limiting potential taggers too. It's a double-edged sword.) That's just my two cents though.
