Once Upon a Dream

(I Met You) Once Upon a Dream

Dreams are complicated and amazing, aren't they? They can be fascinating, fantastical, boring, scary, comforting. You can meet people that are gone from your life, there, or even - sometimes - dream of people who you don't know, yet.

So this is just it. Meeting in a dream.

Warning: some of the prompts can be better avoided by the younger crowd, for sexual, violent, or body horror reasons.

How to Play
- Comment with your character and preferences.
- Reply to others.
- Have fun.
- Make sure you leave people a way out. It may be a dream, but don't tag into a stranger's open prompt with something that might be explicitly disturbing or way too intimate without checking in with them, first.
Prompts

There are two major categories.
I. In a dream.
II. After you wake up.

They have different prompts, but you're free to mix and match as desired - and the prompts are merely suggestions, after all. Go wild!

I. In a dream.

A. Kind of dream.
1. Mundane
2. Fluffy
3. Hot
4. Sad
5. Nightmare
6. Fantastical
7. Free for your imagination.

B. Kind of meeting.
1. You know them in life. You meet them normally - friends, allies, acquaintances, coworkers...
2. They were once part of your life, but they're not, any longer. Left for good, you fought, they're no longer living...
3. Strangers.
4. Enemy! Defend yourself! Or maybe reach a truce.
5. Free for your imagination.

C. Kind of dream experience.
1. You are as you are in the waking dream - same gender, abilities, etc.
2. You're enhanced - you can do things you don't, when awake, like flight or supernatural strength or knowing a different language, or something else that you normally lack.
3. You're depowered - whether you have special abilities and they don't work in the dream, or you're lacking something else that you usually have - sight, mobility, speech...
4. You're physically changed - different gender, different race...
5. You're a different age - younger or older.
6. Free for your imagination.

II. After you wake up.
A. Kind of dream.
1. It was a lovely dream. You have a great feeling that stays with you after it.
2. It was a horrible dream. Nightmare, or it just went on and on...
3. It was a confusing dream. You're not sure how to feel about it.
4. You don't really remember much about it. But you think there was something...
5. Free for your imagination.

B. Kind of an encounter.
1. Expected - bedfellow, roommate, friend, colleague, and you get to tell them about the dream.
2. New - you met that person in the dream! Or they're just a stranger you feel like you should share the dream with.
3. Impossible - how is that person even there?
4. Enemy - why them? Why now?
5. Free for your imagination.

C. Anything else you want!
Did you wake up with a skill or ability you didn't have? A new fear? A secret you never knew before?

[He smiles, happy that she welcomes the idea. Of course a pond isn't exactly a great place for lots of fish options, but maybe if there is some nearby river or lake...]

Heed would like that, though I don't wanna remove all the fish from the one pond if we did. But always love big feasts!

We can buy the fish, silly. [She giggles. They finally reach the pond. Meggan sits at the water's edge carefully, making sure not to drop Lockheed.]

Go on and get your fish. Be careful.

Oh. [That's awkward. When Meggan sit down Lockheed flaps up and off her shoulder and perches by the water, examining the fish within carefully. Then with a nimble dive he enters the water and extracts a small fish for himself and then a slightly larger one for his friend. Each time he performs a thrust which kills the fish quickly and as painlessly as possible - Lockheed might come from a species which can be predatory, but he is also not inclined to let creatures suffer for suffering sake, even dinner.]

You're really good at that.

[Meggan claps and smiles.]

Perhaps we should return now?

When you get back I'll try to bring back Brian for Meg to muse with. :)

[In response Lockheed smiles and bows humbly at her kind words and gesture as he holds the fish in either paw with surprising dexerity.]

Thanks, guess I got a lotta skill I've learnt over the years. Sure we can! Yeh wanna do some cooking together and prepare the fish?

Yay!

[personal profile] meggan 2014-08-27 11:12 pm (UTC)(link)
Okay! I've never prepared fish before! You'll have to show me a few tricks!

[Meggan straightens her skirt and offers her arm to Lockheed again. Perhaps if she learns how to cook fish, she can cook Brian some upon his return!]
kittysdragon: (Lockheed Badass)

;) Have a nice time if you haven't gone yet.

[personal profile] kittysdragon 2014-08-28 07:31 pm (UTC)(link)
Well unless yeh were thinking of me roasting them, ain't much else Heed can do for yeh. Ain't exactly much of a cook.

[He smiles and hovers and lands on her arm, still clutching the fish which thankfully are neither too wet nor too smelly. Meggan is clearly ever the romantic when it comes to Brian.]

[personal profile] meggan 2014-09-13 05:18 pm (UTC)(link)
[She smiles and kisses his nose again.]

I'm sure you're a great cook, Lockheed. You just don't know it yet.

[Meggan giggles as they walk.]
kittysdragon: (Lockheed Chilling)

I was begining to worry! Did you have a nice time at the comic con? :)

[personal profile] kittysdragon 2014-09-13 08:48 pm (UTC)(link)
I guess if someone helped me to learn! Even dragons can cook, right?

[He smiles broadly, Meggan always knows how to keep people so bright and cheerful.]
