The Captivity Meme

You've been captured -- or maybe you've been held captive for a while now. Whatever the case, you've lost your freedom, and there's a specific person responsible for that. You might be a prisoner, a mental patient, a kidnap victim, or someone's pet. Maybe you're there willingly, or maybe the choice has been taken away from you completely.
Both smut and non-smut scenarios are possible. If you don't want to play smut, please indicate so in the title line of your tag.
1. Leave a tag with your character. Be sure to include any limits on what you are willing to play, as this meme has the potential to be triggering.
2. Someone else tags in and uses RNG to generate a number between 1 and 9. The second character is holding the first character captive now.
3. ???
4. Profit!
Scenarios
1. For their own good. Does this person really think they could make it on their own? It's a big, scary world out there, and you need to protect them from it, whether they like it or not.
2. For the good of society. Forget protecting this person -- it's your duty to protect the world from them! Maybe they committed a terrible crime, or maybe they were falsely condemned, but it's your job to keep them locked up where they can't do any more harm.
3. Because they're not well. How's your bedside manner? Whether you're Florence Nightingale or Mildred Ratched, you're in the position of ministering to the mentally ill. Maybe this person genuinely needs your help, or maybe you're just turning a blind eye to their true sanity.
4. For the money. Higher aims? What higher aims? This person is your meal ticket, and they're staying put until their loved ones pay up.
5. For their love. It might be a case of yandere, or it might be a consenting BDSM relationship. Whether it's by mutual agreement or by force, you're keeping them simply because you love them.
6. Because they're cute and fluffy. Who's a cutesy wutesy? They are! Yes, they are! This person is your pet now. Maybe they're a different species from you, or maybe you just don't care that you're both people. Maybe you're even an alien zookeeper looking after a new acquisition.
7. Because they're your property. Slave? Livestock? Who cares what they think - they're our property, and you decide their fate.
8. For the lulz. Hey, what's a little bondage between friends? You'll let them go, once you're done laughing and snapping photos... maybe.
9. Choose a scenario, or combine several.
Taken from here.

The pipe I am rather familiar with, but is there anything particularly unique about the ghost effect besides, well, the obvious? And can such things be combined?
no subject
They can't. I've tried it before and nothing. But the ghost effect does make you invisible, yes and changes your appearance to match. Just think 'ghost' and it should work. Try not to freak out though.
[because if he tries Hiroshi will find himself see-through. and missing his legs, sort of. he has a ghost tail now! yay?
at the very least it's way better than the Viscera effect, yes?]no subject
[He tried the effect, on a whim. He looked down at his hand and started a bit. He could see the ground through it! And his legs were gone? It was a good thing this was a dream or else he'd be REALLY worried.]
...All right, I readily admit this is slightly disconcerting.
no subject
Would you believe me if I said I have worse?
[but she's not going to use them until he leaves, thankfully. he's helping so she doesn't want to completely freak him out. or freak him out even more anyways.]
Keep in mind though, just because you're invisible doesn't mean you're invincible. Think 'ghost' again when you want to turn it off. Same with the pipe. Think about that and it'll come to you. Just...think about what you use it on first.
[like actually trying to use it on Smile. but enough small talk, they really needed to get going.]
...I'm going to go on ahead. When you're ready, go talk to Smile. He's still in the same place in the school.
no subject
Ah... all right. Be careful. And thank you for your help.
[He eyed the Smile up here for a bit before turning to go back inside himself. He needed to talk to Smile one way or another about all this.]
no subject
Sabitsuki nods and once he's back inside, turns on the Arms effect. the arms sprouting out of her body hug her tightly and off she went back to the Nexus. first step, shut the door. second, get down to the other school. from there...well, we'll just have to see how it turns out.
meanwhile the trip back to Smile's room is uneventful. but if he checks, Hiroshi will find that all the doors but his are locked.
inside the room it plays out the same. if Hiroshi doesn't have the pipe out he won't react to anything and he'll smile with it in the open. but either way he stays silent. seems he's waiting for Hiroshi to bring up the topic first.]
no subject
Hiroshi summoned the pipe mentally and held it ready, but not in a threatening way. Not fully.]
All right. Since you'll speak to me and not to her, speak. Are you the one who's been bringing in people? How do we let them go again?
no subject
You met her? Good. But why should I tell you anything...
[he takes one step forward and leaned uncomfortably close into the other's personal space. Smile didn't have a visible weapon so the only thing he had was his general creepiness and height.]
Tell me why.
[a challenge, perhaps, to see if Hiroshi really had the guts to stand up to him.]
no subject
Because she doesn't want this.
no subject
[Smile leaned back and turned on his heel, heading towards one of the desks. the chairs are bolted down but that's not a problem for him as he's able to yank it free and turn it so he could sit down and face Hiroshi.
but although it does show off that the dream figment possessed above human strength, the action doesn't seem like a demonstration of what he could do. Smile just seemed irritated. and honestly, he really wanted to sit down.]
Yes I've been taking them. Letting them go...I don't know if you can do it. I know what Sabitsuki is doing right now. Stupid girl...but I don't trust you.
no subject
The feeling is mutual. She created you as a manifestation of a friend of hers, right? So why so persistently go against her wishes? Why alter the world the way you have?
no subject
Really. Never entertained a 'what if?' situation before? What if everyone was like me? What if my friend noticed what I was going through? What if I didn't run away like a little coward and get my friends killed?
[the dream figment hunched over slightly, his smile never fading, although his teeth are gritted.]
That's what she wanted, so that's what she got. The same could have been for you if you found this program. But I'm 'Smile' and above all he wanted her to be happy. Friends make you happy, right?
no subject
So you are telling me this program exists as some sort of simulation? A method of rearranging events to fit as one desires? Then how does it manage to access the minds of people outside of Sabitsuki's?
no subject
Something like that. But it fills everyone's desires. A self-aware 'what if?'.
[Smile leaned back in his chair and directed his gaze to the ceiling.]
You saw it in the basement, didn't you? The thing you gave the pipe to. It's why she's here in the first place. Why 'Smile' and her are not friends anymore. Collect all those effects and...
[but he trails off and remains staring at the ceiling, as if he's concentrating on something not involving this conversation.]
no subject
He suddenly noticed Smile's distraction]
You're watching something again, aren't you? Through the posters.
no subject
[and the glee in his voice indicates it's something amusing to him and probably not amusing to everyone else. Smile starts counting something off on his fingers before looking at Hiroshi again.]
Think I'm going to let you go into that place with everyone else. You have the Ghost effect. You can run as much as you want. She fixed things so if you're lucky, running away will work.
[but running away from what, exactly?]
no subject
Something about his actions caused Hiroshi's stomach to tighten up again. He had an extraordinarily bad feeling about this.]
Letting me in... why? What's going on down there?
[His eyes widen.]
The other students --?!
no subject
I did say I was going to kill all of you, remember? But right now...
[the door slams shut behind them, locking both Hiroshi and Smile inside.]
Hehehe...going to send you somewhere else. Where Sabitsuki is. Where everyone else is now. For the moment. Now hold still.
[and Smile starts for him. he just needed to grab a bit of this kid, although it would be amusing if he fought back.]
no subject
He turned at the sound of the door slamming. He was locked in with him?! What did he mean, "send him to where Sabitsuki and the others were?" Wha... He tried to deactivate the pipe, but it did no good. Before he could remember his other effect, Smile's hand brushed him, and...]
no subject
but what a place he's been dropped into. those freaky tree things make their re-appearance and they're surrounding a large white blob that has a mouth wide enough that Hiroshi could walk inside. and the ground...it's pitch black but a large, red eye is floating around. Hiroshi can step on it no problem. it doesn't feel any different than a normal floor would.
he can walk around as much as he likes but the area will eventually loop back to the mouth. he probably needs to walk into that, knowing everything.]
no subject
Whereever he was, it was extremely unnerving. He wandered for a bit, trying to get his bearings, but it all came down to the same place in the end -- the mouth. That horrible, horrible mouth.
Well, if I'm going in there, I'd at least like to make sure it can't crush me.
He activated the Ghost effect before entering, hoping that, like ghosts (in THEORY, not that he believed in them), it would provide him some intangibility. Not getting hit by things would definitely help.
He steeled himself and entered the gaping maw.]

three girls stand at the end of the hallway, their uniforms soaked with blood. Just like the photographs that had distorted their images, each of their faces have been militated. the eyes were ripped out, the lower jaw was removed or her face was just a bloody hole. things were getting nightmarish, fast.
they move and their high-pitched giggling echoing in the area. they can't see Hiroshi as he has the Ghost effect on, but that apparently didn't stop them from trying to look and as Sabitsuki explain, invisible didn't mean invincible. if they touched him here he would be warped to an inescapable area and everything would be over then and there.
but luckily enough, a path on his left would open up once they started moving and it'll lead to another mouth exit. better get a move on...]
no subject
Either way, even in this form, the idea of getting anywhere close to those things unnerved him, and he mentally noted to himself not to allow them to get close. When the path opened, he mentally sighed a breath of relief before following the route down. Hopefully this was not leading him anyway bad.]

the front of the school is plastered in those posters.
back inside everything on the ground floor is unchanged and silent. still, the air feels heavier in here and it almost seems like something is waiting for something else to happen. Hiroshi better be sure of himself and ready to act the second he takes the stairs up to the next floor. it's not going to be pretty.]
no subject
Hiroshi tightened his scarf around himself. A sense of finality washed over him. No matter what, the final confrontation was in that building, plastered with posters. The final test, as it were. There would be no retakes if he failed this time. He'd die, and she'd die, and everybody involved would die.
He had to pass this time.
He counted to three mentally, and strode into the building. The air clung to him like grime, and he shuddered as he made his way to the steps and up to the next floor.]
