The Captivity Meme

You've been captured -- or maybe you've been held captive for a while now. Whatever the case, you've lost your freedom, and there's a specific person responsible for that. You might be a prisoner, a mental patient, a kidnap victim, or someone's pet. Maybe you're there willingly, or maybe the choice has been taken away from you completely.
Both smut and non-smut scenarios are possible. If you don't want to play smut, please indicate so in the title line of your tag.
1. Leave a tag with your character. Be sure to include any limits on what you are willing to play, as this meme has the potential to be triggering.
2. Someone else tags in and uses RNG to generate a number between 1 and 9. The second character is holding the first character captive now.
3. ???
4. Profit!
Scenarios
1. For their own good. Does this person really think they could make it on their own? It's a big, scary world out there, and you need to protect them from it, whether they like it or not.
2. For the good of society. Forget protecting this person -- it's your duty to protect the world from them! Maybe they committed a terrible crime, or maybe they were falsely condemned, but it's your job to keep them locked up where they can't do any more harm.
3. Because they're not well. How's your bedside manner? Whether you're Florence Nightingale or Mildred Ratched, you're in the position of ministering to the mentally ill. Maybe this person genuinely needs your help, or maybe you're just turning a blind eye to their true sanity.
4. For the money. Higher aims? What higher aims? This person is your meal ticket, and they're staying put until their loved ones pay up.
5. For their love. It might be a case of yandere, or it might be a consenting BDSM relationship. Whether it's by mutual agreement or by force, you're keeping them simply because you love them.
6. Because they're cute and fluffy. Who's a cutesy wutesy? They are! Yes, they are! This person is your pet now. Maybe they're a different species from you, or maybe you just don't care that you're both people. Maybe you're even an alien zookeeper looking after a new acquisition.
7. Because they're your property. Slave? Livestock? Who cares what they think - they're our property, and you decide their fate.
8. For the lulz. Hey, what's a little bondage between friends? You'll let them go, once you're done laughing and snapping photos... maybe.
9. Choose a scenario, or combine several.
Taken from here.

[and the glee in his voice indicates it's something amusing to him and probably not amusing to everyone else. Smile starts counting something off on his fingers before looking at Hiroshi again.]
Think I'm going to let you go into that place with everyone else. You have the Ghost effect. You can run as much as you want. She fixed things so if you're lucky, running away will work.
[but running away from what, exactly?]
no subject
Something about his actions caused Hiroshi's stomach to tighten up again. He had an extraordinarily bad feeling about this.]
Letting me in... why? What's going on down there?
[His eyes widen.]
The other students --?!
no subject
I did say I was going to kill all of you, remember? But right now...
[the door slams shut behind them, locking both Hiroshi and Smile inside.]
Hehehe...going to send you somewhere else. Where Sabitsuki is. Where everyone else is now. For the moment. Now hold still.
[and Smile starts for him. he just needed to grab a bit of this kid, although it would be amusing if he fought back.]
no subject
He turned at the sound of the door slamming. He was locked in with him?! What did he mean, "send him to where Sabitsuki and the others were?" Wha... He tried to deactivate the pipe, but it did no good. Before he could remember his other effect, Smile's hand brushed him, and...]

but what a place he's been dropped into. those freaky tree things make their re-appearance and they're surrounding a large white blob that has a mouth wide enough that Hiroshi could walk inside. and the ground...it's pitch black but a large, red eye is floating around. Hiroshi can step on it no problem. it doesn't feel any different than a normal floor would.
he can walk around as much as he likes but the area will eventually loop back to the mouth. he probably needs to walk into that, knowing everything.]
no subject
Whereever he was, it was extremely unnerving. He wandered for a bit, trying to get his bearings, but it all came down to the same place in the end -- the mouth. That horrible, horrible mouth.
Well, if I'm going in there, I'd at least like to make sure it can't crush me.
He activated the Ghost effect before entering, hoping that, like ghosts (in THEORY, not that he believed in them), it would provide him some intangibility. Not getting hit by things would definitely help.
He steeled himself and entered the gaping maw.]

three girls stand at the end of the hallway, their uniforms soaked with blood. Just like the photographs that had distorted their images, each of their faces have been militated. the eyes were ripped out, the lower jaw was removed or her face was just a bloody hole. things were getting nightmarish, fast.
they move and their high-pitched giggling echoing in the area. they can't see Hiroshi as he has the Ghost effect on, but that apparently didn't stop them from trying to look and as Sabitsuki explain, invisible didn't mean invincible. if they touched him here he would be warped to an inescapable area and everything would be over then and there.
but luckily enough, a path on his left would open up once they started moving and it'll lead to another mouth exit. better get a move on...]
no subject
Either way, even in this form, the idea of getting anywhere close to those things unnerved him, and he mentally noted to himself not to allow them to get close. When the path opened, he mentally sighed a breath of relief before following the route down. Hopefully this was not leading him anyway bad.]

the front of the school is plastered in those posters.
back inside everything on the ground floor is unchanged and silent. still, the air feels heavier in here and it almost seems like something is waiting for something else to happen. Hiroshi better be sure of himself and ready to act the second he takes the stairs up to the next floor. it's not going to be pretty.]
no subject
Hiroshi tightened his scarf around himself. A sense of finality washed over him. No matter what, the final confrontation was in that building, plastered with posters. The final test, as it were. There would be no retakes if he failed this time. He'd die, and she'd die, and everybody involved would die.
He had to pass this time.
He counted to three mentally, and strode into the building. The air clung to him like grime, and he shuddered as he made his way to the steps and up to the next floor.]
no subject
but that's not the part Hiroshi should be focusing on. from his left a high pitched giggling could be heard, exactly like the girls from that strange hallway. soon that deranged copy of Sabitsuki approaches. she doesn't have her scissors but the pipe is in her hand and this time the copy has every intention of using it on Hiroshi's skull if she catches up to him.
run.]
no subject
Neither of the effects were triggering. Had Sabitsuki known this would happen? Had she intended on it? Now wasn't the time to second-guess things, though. All he knew was that someone was coming with a clear intent to bash his brains in.
And so, for the time being, he switched them off. Narrowing evading "Sabitsuki," he scrambled past her in an attempt to get to the stairs behind her, his heart pounding, his instincts in full control. Run. That was all that was important right now.
Run like HELL.]
no subject
it had classrooms too, but anything thought in hiding in any of them probably goes out the window when another copy of Sabitsuki stumbles out of one of them. the doors are all shut, but why take the chance of finding something with every intention of killing him inside?
by the way, he now has two copies chasing him, the one that had come out of the classroom slightly faster than the one from before. the only hope he has is once again finding the stairs that - as expected - lead down again.
it almost seems like he's being forced to go to the basement...]
no subject
He narrowly dodged the second one, trying to keep the slower one in between in order to hinder the faster one's movements. But he couldn't fight the sense he was being herded, led down towards the basement. He supposed that's where he wanted to head anyway, since that was where the other students had been, but he didn't like it. It felt like something had a purpose for him, something that wanted him to go exactly where it wanted him to. And what lay at the end?
He kept running. Down the stairs, as fast as he could, taking more than one step at a time to accelerate things. He needed to get away from THOSE things.]
no subject
the students are also there, slumped against the walls. they've been placed in their spots with a bit more care than one would expect, but there they are, unharmed. still, they seem to have difficulty breathing. but again, that's not interesting. nor is the invisible wall that springs up behind Hiroshi the second he steps into the room.
what's interesting is what apparently happened in the center of the room. Smile is there, to no one's surprise and he currently has his back turned to Hiroshi. Sabitsuki is there too...or what's left of her. lying at the black haired boy's feet, Sabitsuki's head had been ripped clean off her body and lay a few feet away. the bloody hammer in the dream figment's hand probably tells the rest of the story.
Hiroshi is free to walk up to anything in the room right now and touch it without consequences, even Smile himself. he won't react to anything. the effects also have been turned back on for now as well. but what to do at this point...]
no subject
Sabi...tsuki...?
[No... no, this couldn't be true, could it? That wasn't her, it was just some sort of dream manifestation, right...? If she were dead, then what was going to happen to this place? To the students? To... him? Was it really... over?
He walked over to her head, as if in a daze. Stooped down next to it. Stared.]
I... failed again. Sabitsuki... You were supposed to wake up. We were all supposed to wake up. What am I... supposed to do now?
[It was a silly gesture, small, irrational. It meant nothing, if he thought about it. Still, he reached out, closing her eyes. He wasn't sure why. It just... felt right.]
no subject
Walk them out.
[it's not the best of advice nor an apology for apparently murdering his 'friend', but Hiroshi will find if he tries to walk outside of the room with one of the students, he'll be able to get out. he can't leave on his own but nothing will attack him outside. all that will happen is that the students will fade outside of the room and the air becomes less oppressive.
was...was Smile really letting them go? yes. but as the students are freed this way, he probably will have to ask himself if the dream figment plans on letting him go too.]
no subject
Hiroshi stood up and walked each of the students out, one by one. By the time the last one faded away, he was out of breath, having had to haul so many heavy students out by himself. Still, they were free, apparently. Which left... him.
...Now what?]
no subject
...and back to normal. Shifting back to zero. Not dead you know. Her, I mean.
[he looks at Hiroshi as he says that last part. so...was Sabitsuki still alive somehow?]
no subject
She's... alive? But look what you did to her! How could she still be alive, even in a dream state?!
no subject
Done this every time she came here! Dozens of times! Besides the program would end completely without her. Not dead. She used this to wake up.
[he turned to face Hiroshi and raised his hammer slightly.]
Do you want to try?
[but he doesn't start for him this time. it's just a test to see if he really would agree to it. that he was just as stupid to do it.]
no subject
If she is supposed to be awake, then why is this place even still here? Why would she even use this method to wake up, assuming you're even telling me the truth on this?
[aka "You aren't getting anywhere near me with that hammer, asshole." Even if this supposedly was the way to wake up, Hiroshi refused to believe being beaten to death was the only solution -- or that it would even work for him if it WAS what she used.]
no subject
Don't have to believe me but that's how it works. Bad way of looking at things though. Didn't not believing in things get everyone killed before?
[he snickers before deciding to switch the topic again.]
...want to stay here? Doesn't seem like there's a lot of good things for you out there. Nicer here when things aren't screwed up.
no subject
He pursed his lips, looking away.]
Even if I wanted to stay here, which I cannot say I do based on what I have seen, this is not the place for me. This is her world, not mine.
[He tightened his scarf again.]
And anyway, all I would accomplish is running away again. What I did... or what I failed to do... is something I must answer for myself. Even if it means suffering, someday I will find a way to make amends. But I will never do it if I retreat into a dream world for the rest of my life.
no subject
Pfff...! Seriously?! Much better than her after all! Stuck in one place but not staying. Ahahha....m-moving on.
[it takes him a moment to calm down long enough to put together proper sentences.]
Guess this was a bad idea after all. Won't apologize but it really was. You're better than both of us...so you can leave too. Whenever you're ready, anyways.
[because talk was one thing. the dream figment only bought action. the last time Smile warped him somewhere was when Hiroshi made physical contact with him so it was probably the same.
so, if he didn't have any more questions, it was time to go home.]
