A Day at the Beach Meme

So you need a vacation. The weather's nice, so why not hit the beach?



So here are the rules:

1. Comment with your character and put their name and canon in the subject line.
2. Do beach stuff with whoever threads with you. Go tanning. Collect seashells. Have a picnic. Swim. Surf. Visit the little resort. Get stranded at sea in a canoe. Day or night. Do your own thing.
3. There is no need for RNG here, just have fun. :)

... [ She looks over her own shoulder at the size of the waves behind her, a look of mischief slowly infecting her expression. She steps closer to the shore, knee-deep now, and places her hands on her hips. She's just wearing a shirt and shorts, of course! ]

We were supposed to come here to relax! Not punch invisible enemies! [ She shakes her head as she yells even louder! ]

THIS WATER IS SO WARM. IT'S LIKE BATHWATER. DO YOU KNOW HOW COLD IT IS BACK WHERE I'M FROM?

[I guess Mako is wearing a wife beater and trunks...]

YOU DON'T HAVE TO YELL, I CAN HEAR YOU JUST FINE! [He yells back at her... for some reason, lifting the hem of his wife beater to wipe at his face. GOD, HE'S SO SWEATY. Cooling down might be nice.]

[righteousness]

[ A thousand spirits hold Korra back from whistling at that moment. Also, her annoyance does! She folds her arms. ]

You look like you're boiling up! Your shoulders are already red, turtleduck. Just come in, already!

[grumpiness]

[That's right, he's FLUSHED and breathing hard, and it's hot enough out here that he won't really protest her suggestion too much. He shakes his head as he marches towards the shoreline.]

[righteousness]

[ Korra takes a few more steps up at the shore, the foam of the sea tickling her legs as she holds a hand out to Mako. ]

You have to go in quickly all at once! You can't just slowly test it out, or else it will feel too cold. Just gotta rush in, Mako. [ She explains this to him as if he's never EVER been near an ocean before. ]

[grumpiness]

[Wtf? He just flashes her a skeptical look as he walk RIGHTS past her offered hand, taking his sweet time. The water is about at his mid-calf right now, and it's fucking cold.]

... [ She's sort of frozen in place for a moment, a look of annoyance briefly crossing her features, before she looks over at him with a pout. ]

You get so jerkish when you train! I mean, you're always like that, but it's extra bad --

HAH! WHAT A SISSY! [ She immediately turns, and as she does, her hands sway in a fluid movement to bend water right up at his chest! ]

[grumpiness]

Guh! [He throws up his hands in front of his face as... he gets splashed, bristling EVERYWHERE.] Korra! [He whirls around on her, shoulders lifting up in a sign of aggression as he grits his teeth!]

[ Mock gasp! As she curls her arms inward against her chest in an expression of FAKE COWARDICE. ]

Oops, sorry! [ The look turns into a predatory smile as she moves closer. ] You're in my territory now, Mako. You want to live? You have to pay a toll.

[grumpiness]

As if I haven't been splashed with water before, Korra. [He takes a cautious step back as he pulls himself into a stance, shivering a little.

[ Korra holds her arms up, as one of the waves behind her seems to get a LOT bigger for a moment -- before she just sort of bends a part of the body of the wave out and over her head, keeping it suspended but in slight movement, with constant fluid turns and angling of her wrist and hands. ]

Are you going to pay the toll?

[grumpiness]

[There's a GLIMMER of fear in his eyes, but he doesn't back down. No Sir.]

You have to kiss me, of course! [ SHE'S JUST KIDDING. BUT IT'S LIKE SUCH AN AWKWARD JOKE BECAUSE SHE OBVIOUSLY WANTS HIS NUTS IN A SHALLOW WAY. ]

[grumpiness]

[His... jaw drops the farthest it can go, eyes practically bulging. HE REALLY WASN'T EXPECTING THAT. Good thing he's still flushed from his workout, because his blush doesn't really make a difference in the colour of his skin.]

Are you... are you serious? [I mean, he NOTICES her eying him up every now and then, but he didn't think she was THIS ballsy.]

Do I look like I'm kidding, Mako? [ She totally is. But it'd be cool if you kissed her either way. Maybe she can cop a feel. ] Pucker up, or sleep with the fishes!

[grumpiness]

[Uh oh. He hates water. Fish fuck in it.

He grimaces as his eyes flicker up at the water above her, but eventually he shows consideration as his hand reaches up to rub at his neck.]

[righteousness]

What. [ Her expression falls into one of surprise, eyebrows raising and eyes widening. ]

Really?

[ She almost says "awesome." ALMOST. ]

[grumpiness]

[OH GOD. He feels really put on the spot right now even though he INTENDS to not kiss her. He folds his arms, looking away, all tsun.]

Y... yes? [UGH, he didn't mean to stutter.] It's a better option than getting salt water shoved down my throat.

[righteousness]

[ Doesn't trust dis bitch. Korra gives a skeptical smile, but there's a bit of joy behind it -- tugging at the corners of her lips and showing faint dimples. ]

Wow, thanks! That's really flattering, Mako! Come on over here, then.

[grumpiness]

... [He's tempted to demand that she comes over HERE, but he might have more of an advantage the deeper they go. OH WAIT, or is it the other way around? Fuck if he knows.

He rubs at his arms a bit as his eyes flicker away again, going over his options. HE LOOKS SHY. Because he is.]

Where do I have to kiss you? [His legs wade through the water as he approaches, cautious.]

[righteousness]

[ Korra makes the water start swirling above both of their heads now, in a little heart motion. Not that she thinks Mako will look up at that or notice...

A playful rise and fall of her eyebrows as she gives a grin. ]

The lips! We're big kids now, right?

[grumpiness]

I don't know. This seems like pretty childish blackmail if you ask me. [He arches a thick eyebrow, skeptical as he glances up at water.]

You're going to dump that on my head right after, aren't you? [He keeps a safe distance between them for now...]

[righteousness]

You don't trust me? [ She gives a small laugh at that revelation. More and more water is gathering, now... ]

We're teammates, Mako. You need to trust me!
