Detroit still wasn't quite used to having robots around. The whole Dreyfus Amendment put that into law, but that didn't include sentient cyborgs, or robots from space.
Alex wasn't too sure whose idea it was to assign him as the bodyguard, but he figured it was meant to be some kind of compliment to the newcomer, and not, you know, some sort of 'you're both freaks, go be freaks together'. At least he hoped it wasn't.
All he knows is he's been told to wait in the underground garage for his new charge to arrive.

[The thing with not being a full vampire was that it came with many risks. As a full vampire he could protect himself, but alas he were a the same strength level as a normal human. That honestly wasn't good for him and the only thing he could do was to hire help.

Fabletown. It was a nice place for some, less so for most. Jack Horner did better than most, though it took a number of cons and tricks to keep his finances in order. His latest job was not one by choice, however. Lumi had been captured and was now a prisoner of Fabletown, but only until she signed the Fabletown compact. Because of Jack's boasting of having known Lumi once, Beast decided to put Jack in charge of her protection. It made for an awkward reunion. He was only glad he was so durable after his movie deal, because he didn't expect this to go gently.

Cassandra didn't know why they'd put her on this detail. There was actual crime that her skills could be useful for. They should have picked Dredd for this kind of detail.
Then again, wishing Dredd's pleasant demeanor on anyone, but especially a stranger, was probably wrong of her.
