[ Turning around, she walks backwards, lingers in the doorway. ] I'm getting a drink to help with the shock, you can show me your present in a minute,

[ With a smirk. ] It's not going anywhere, take your time.

[ She rolls her eyes, the rattling of the contents in the fridge door as she sweeps in and grabs the juice, pours herself a glass, and then she returns to the doorway, leans against the jamb like she owns it.

Sipping the juice casually, as if she's too good for this and is already bored. ] I'm waiting.

[ The package he pulls out of his jacket is badly wrapped in newspaper and tied with a bow, pink because he's a jerk. Inside is a very ornate dagger he liberated from someone.

Handing it over. ] Don't say I never give you nothing.

[ Natasha raises an eyebrow at the pink, but she can take the mockery, taking the badly wrapped gift and unwrapping it. She opens her mouth, a sarcastic comment on the way, but stops before she starts, and then looks up at him. ]

Have I ever told you that you're my favourite? [ She can play nice when she wants to, stepping up and pressing a kiss to his cheek. ] Thank you.

[ It's always nice when they can do this, when the walls get shoved down and they're just two people who live heavy lives. ]

[canbedeceitful]

But I have nothing to give you.

[ The way she says it is playful, mocking, and with a little provocative eyelash batting, a finger trailing across his chest and over his shoulder as she makes her way into the living room. ]

[ He spins on his heel, moves to follow her into the living room. ]

Is everyone out or something?

What gave you that impression?

[ She drops onto the couch, lies down across half of it. ]

Tony took Steve out on a date, Bruce is doing whatever it is Bruce does, and Coulson's taking the night off.

[ Hopping over to the arm to crash down beside her. ] Did you say Coulson and night off in the same sentence? Say it ain't so, has our handler gone renegade? Are our parents divorcing? Nat, what'll we do?

[canbedeceitful]

[ She's trying not to look amused, but there it is, so she slaps him on the shoulder for bringing it out. He should stop that, people might think she's human. ] I have my suspicions that he was lying about taking the night to do personal things, I've seen him when he's left alone with nothing to do, and he's not in a rush to get back to that.

He'll probably make me do paperwork if I text him to ask, so I'll take your word for it.

[ Slouching into the seat. ] Wanna watch a movie?

[ She looks at him, a wall there as she considers, but then shrugs with her facial features. ] No romance.

Mission Impossible?

[ He likes shit that explodes, and he knows she does too. ]

[ She asks it with a fond amusement, but she doesn't say no, nudging a foot to his knee. ] Stick it in.

[ He stands before she can hit him again, moves to Tony's tower of DVDs to pick up the old favourite. ]

[canbedeceitful]

[ There's a warning in her clipped tone, but her expression says something else. ] Clint.

[ She thinks that was a wise move, and while he's up she grabs all the couch cushions, puffs them up at one end to rest on as she sprawls out over the entire thing. But there's enough room for him to slip in and lie behind her, if he's brave enough. ]

[ He looks back, merely grins, ends up hopping into the space without permission and sliding in behind her. ]

Awesome.

[canbedeceitful]

[ She laughs silently, hides it from him, because she hates it sometimes how easy he is to love, how stupidly adorable he can be, and that's what she likes the most.

She pushes back into what space there is left between them so she's right up against him. And then Tom Cruise flashes onto the screen. ] Oh, look, there's your boyfriend.

[sagitto]

[ Curling his arms around her waist, resting his chin on her shoulder. ]

Mm. He never calls, he never writes.

[canbedeceitful]

You know the life you signed up for.

[ She almost sounds sad as she says it, something that they both know in this game, and she melds back into him, nuzzles her chin against the side of his head. ] He should visit for this, though, this is good.

[sagitto]

I'll send him an invite to the deadly assassin snuggle party, yeah?

[ But Clint is happy enough to sprawl here with her, which is saying something. ]

[canbedeceitful]

I don't think Coulson will be pleased, but you never know, he might make an appearance.

[ She watches the film half-heartedly, has seen it enough times to know most of the words, and she bites her tongue whenever something implausible happens. ]

[ Laughing. ]

He's gonna have to share us.

I wouldn't mind sharing.

[ She reaches behind to take his hand, pull his arm around her, and she snuggles it to her chest. She might have moments of affection, but there's no need to draw attention to it. ]
