[She had made sure to bundle up since it was getting colder out, and she knew they would be out late. The roof was the prime place to set up.
Ymir had asked before hand if Caelica minded teaching her about the constellations, since she'd never gotten a chance to learn about them. Before, she never seemed to care.

While she waited, she had decided to make a pitcher of tea and a pitcher of coffee for the both of them. Two mugs were set beside it as she pulled her legs to her chest, waiting for signs of the woman. She hummed quietly to herself, her eyes tracing patterns in the stars already.]

[ This observatory is not one he's familiar with, and Clark has a little time, so he's dropping by on that one day out of the week. Of course, since he's never been there, that means loading up on brochures and fliers. Reading up on what the observatory does is a little distracting, but he's doing his best not to bump into anyone. Eventually he settles into the back row of the auditorium, tucking his six-foot-four frame into a seat and sorts all the paperwork into some vague sense of order. ]

[ Scott manages to convince Derek to abandon his loft for the evening so he and Kira can go up to the roof again to hang out, like a date. He's still not sure how he managed to persuade Derek, maybe it was Scott's puppy dog eyes or because he's an Alpha now and Derek's been acting differently towards him because of it (nicer and a lot more accommodating, like a Beta would towards an Alpha). Though Derek specifically warned Scott if he had anything that resembled a party in his loft, he'd be dead. Derek was still grumpy over the rave happening.

They have a great view of the night sky from the roof. Scott brought cushions this time for them to sit on and a blanket for Kira if she got cold, along with some snacks (mostly junk food). Their evening had been inspired by a UFO documentary they'd both watched.

Scott's totally open to the existence of aliens since he's a werewolf. When he notices something unusual blinking in the sky, he jumps up to his feet with a slack-jawed expression. ]

Do you see that?! [ It's totally a plane. ]

[Namine supposed that this was one called a summer night. The air felt as if it vibrated with warm, sleep was a foreign concept, and she wasn't quite sure what lead her to drawing the sky or the vague clusters of patterns, but it seemed like a good idea.

Her page was chaotic, maybe she looked up at the sky for inspiration or a break, but when she did Namine caught the tail end of what seemed to be a falling star. It was an odd little superstition that must have crossed her path at one time or another, but Namine made a little wish, straightened her pencil in her fingers and -- There was another one! And one more.]

Emil!

It was late. It was late, and really, it was getting toward the time of night when even the most stalwart had to drift off to sleep. Close by, where their fire was burning low on the beach, she could hear her sister's slow, even breaths in slumber; see the slump in Edmund's shoulders which indicated he had very much left the waking world as well.

Peter might also have been asleep. She was fairly certain he could sleep sitting up and possibly with his eyes open. Really, she wouldn't have blamed him for it in the slightest. It was just Peter's rotten luck that he was closest to the youngest Pevensie, who very much had not fallen asleep, too eager from waiting.

Which means Peter was the one getting his shoulder shaken as she gasped up at the sky, voice an awed whisper. "--I saw one."

[ There are two distinctly different opinions among the elves who never set foot on Valinor regarding falling stars. The Silvan, the ones who came and went as they pleased, those outlyers who had no king or regent to call their own, believed that falling stars were Varda Elentári in celebration, her gift of beauty to the elves and a cause for mirth and joyous festivities. The Sindarin, those with purpose and the loyalty of kingship and kinship, who once lived in their vast city with a lord and a Maia to call their own, believed something entirely different. What Thranduil had been told, during his youth in Menegroth, was that falling stars were Varda Elentári crying. They were her sadness for the fallen Noldor, for the Sindarin who didn't need her guidance, for the Silvan who didn't want it.

He has no idea what the Noldor believe of falling stars, and he's not sure he really cares, to be entirely honest. A sea of falling stars above their heads, glittering in the water, was no cause for celebration for Thranduil Oropherion, even with their feet hanging over the edge of the peer and the pleasant hum of evening festival behind them in the distance. ]

They are beautiful, I will say that.

Maybe it wasn't entirely regal to sneak out at night and lie out in the grass. Maybe it didn't make for a well-rested sort of regent. Maybe there were older siblings who would scold when the youngest was stifling yawns and barely keeping her eyes open the next morning.

Lucy isn't entirely certain she cares. She's also hoping that the sole companion she can see out beneath the stars tonight won't tell on her for sneaking out like this.

One hand lifts absently toward the stars, traces invisible lines. "It does look a bit like a hammer, I suppose."
