For some reason you are at a slumber party. No. Seriously. You are at a slumber party. DON'T QUESTION IT. You can be there by choice, or maybe just the will of the universe teleported you there. Who knows. All that is important now is you are involved in a slumber party ritual and you have to participate. No. Seriously. You are compelled to.

Also, you may be wearing a slumber party outfit... whether it's appropriate or not is up to how cruel your mun is the fates.

Or maybe you just really were invited to a slumber party. Who knows, that's half the fun~

1. Truth or Dare - Who hasn't enjoyed this game? Well.... except this time you are completely compelled to do what ever the asker has told you to do.. or tell the complete truth

2. Spin the bottle - Crap. Let's just hope it doesn't land on that one person you reeeeeeeeeeeeally hate.

3. 7 minutes in Heaven - Get shoved in a closet. You aren't let out until there is some serious kissing.


4. Bloody Mary - Summoning dead angry ghosts by chanting at a mirror? WHY NOT?

[Eyebrows raised and a small shrug of her shoulders. She leans back putting her arms behind her.]

Alright. Truth or dare?

Dare.

[nottheshoe]

[Eyebrow.]

[there's a long pause. she's trying to think of whether or not she can smile honestly. if she wants to smile, she'd have to think of madoka, and that's... more likely to bring her to tears. in the end, she does smile. it's fake, of course. but it's the genuine-looking smile she uses on normal people.]

Don't you think that's a strange request?

[She recognizes that it's fake. But she knows not to push it]

[What's the worst Homura could ask?]

[she doesn't know what kind of things would be normal to ask, actually. girls her age talk about silly things, right? boys and gossip and clothes. but it seems strange to ask nike about any of those things. she shouldn't say anything that she usually thinks about herself, though. so maybe she can just ask something that she hopes is pleasant.]

What's your happiest memory?

[nottheshoe]

[That gives her pause. She presses her lips together and almost holds her breath.

Her happiest memory. Images, so many of them, hit her at once. Too many. An overwhelming amount.

Her fingers tense against the carpet, her eyes lower.]

My happiest memory.... [Somewhere guilt stabs her for not thinking of Marc, Shinji, Yoshie or Athena. Not first at least. Of course they had all been such bright spots in her life, but...] My happiest memory'd be....

When I was ten. Just a kid. [Her voice tremors the slightest, she can't remember the last time she let her emotion show through so clearly.] I was at th'beach with my family. My brothers brought their water guns, started attackin' me and my sister. [She laughs softly, suddenly her mind is caught up. She can smell the sea again, feel her family there with her] My mom was off under a huge umbrella, yellin' at us: [Her voice becomes higher, more trill] "Don't you dare get anywhere close t'me with those things!"

My sister, she-- she kept yellin' 'bout her hair, like that'd make a difference.

[her smile is full and genuine now. She almost trips over her words explaining the story]

And then my dad came runnin' up, picking me up on to his shoulders and handin' me onna th'water guns. [A giggle as she holds out her hands as if she's grasping on to the gun right at that moment] We terrorized them th'entire afternoon. All of us were soaked in the car.

My sister and my mom were pissed, said we ruined their entire day out, but... but that was our last real outtin' as a family.

[Her face falls then. Suddenly brought back to reality.... That summer her brother had left for college--- and not too long after she had taken the position of Queen. And then. Well...

She'd rather not think about the rest.]

[halfclock]

[she listens, and the only change at all is in her expression; it softens, noticeably. her eyes drop to the floor, and they lose their usual piercing stare. she's quiet for a bit longer than she needs to be once the story is over. she's never had a family like that herself - she had her parents, but there wasn't that kind of closeness. she hasn't ever experienced something like that. she never would have been able to, before. she wouldn't be able to now.]

It sounds like it was nice. [gentle. but distant enough.] Your turn.

[nottheshoe]

[Suddenly she's broken out of her haze. She shakes her head and rubs idly at one of her eyes.]

Yeah, right, truth or dare?

[halfclock]

[homura doesn't comment on it. god knows she wouldn't want someone to say anything if it was her.]

Truth.

[nottheshoe]

[Nike thinks for a moment. Then looks up with a smile]

Why's it so hard for y'to smile honestly?

[halfclock]

[it comes as a shock and she flinches - no one has called her out on that before, and she thought that nike had fallen for the fake smile earlier. and that's just what she'd been thinking about earlier, isn't it? but she realised, after trying, after hearing nike's story. she can't smile. not any more. not until it's over.]

There's nothing to smile about. You can't smile honestly without happiness, can you?

[nottheshoe]

[She closes her eyes.]

No, no y'can't.

[She wanted to say something about how it would get better. How things would look up... but right now, she couldn't believe that. And she knew it was no use telling Homura anything like that anyway.]

Do people really find this game fun?

[truth or dare is suffering. although she suspects that it's her fault for being generally depressing.]

[A soft laugh]

Usually it's more fun if y'ask about boys and crushes and such.

[Nike's eyes close. She's feeling lazy Always like a cat and risks another emotional bomb]

I don't really know any boys. I wasn't sure what to ask about when it comes to that, either.

[the only boy she even knows of is a dick.

whether she intends it or not, homura is always emotionally heavy. she's not good at insignificant things or small talk. so all she can think of are weighted questions. maybe this one won't make nike as sad, though. maybe.]

What do you hope for?

[nottheshoe]

[A snort.]

Boys can be nice. They can be really annoyin' though, too.

[A specific few come to mind. And she smiles and holds on to that feeling for as long as she can.

But hope. What does she hope for?]


I hope.... t'change the world.

I hope for my family's happiness.

[It's all she had left.]

Those are good things to hope for. I'm glad. [pause.] Boys would be the same as any other person, wouldn't they? I don't see why there would be a difference.

Guys got a lot of... weird complexities with dealin' with girls. They always wanna be th'hero. [A small smile] Sometimes y'don't need savin' though.

[She looks up]
