[Uhm? What's going on here? It looked like Haruka was about to take a step forward but then didn't.]

Something wrong? The plant didn't poison you, did it? Does it paralyze people? I don't want to be paralyzed!

[panic mode on]

It's fine. [ Haruka looks around. Is there anything else that could be causing this? Anybody suspicious, any weird auras, any -

Oh, why does she even bother. She knows what's up. Haruka takes Ruby's hand and squeezes it. ]

Jewel. Bear with me for a moment.

[And that panic is quickly washed away once Haruka takes hol of Ruby's hand. Her face flushes red when she's called jewel again and she'll slowly nod in response.]

O-okay.

[ This is so silly. Haruka can't believe she's ended up a victim of this absurd a joke. Still, it's not like the punch line is all that unpleasant - she just questions the taste of whoever set this up in the first place.

Besides, Ruby's counting on her. She smiles. ]

This'll be over soon. I promise not to hurt you....

[ Yet although she's trying to sound reassuring, she ends up producing quite a different kind of whisper, instead. One that goes quite well with all those diamonds randomly hanging in mid-air all of a sudden. ]

[Ruby's heart flutters at the sound of Haruka's voice. There may some rose petals gently drifting from the ceiling to the floor. What ever's doing this to them is going all out.]

O-of course not, I didn't think you would.

[Phew, this is a little awkward, but nice. She really wishes she could move her feet right about now.]

[ Just leave it all to Haruka, Ruby. She'll take good care of you. ]

That's a good girl.

[ But she shouldn't leave you hanging. Haruka's fingers gently splay beneath Ruby's chin, tipping the other girl's face up as her own begins to descend. If it's mistletoe at fault, there's a good chance nothing will satisfy it but a proper, lips-to-lips kiss....so for brevity's sake she'll skip right to the main event. ]

[She needs an adult.]

[She'll let out a slight gasp as Haruka's fingers tilt her face upward in a nervous and slightly startled reaction. She doesn't have much time to do anything though as Haruka's lips soft lips touch against hers. At first her eyes are a little wide, this wasn't exactly how she had expected to get a kiss, but it doesn't take long for her relax and maybe even lean into the kiss a little more.]

[ Haruka smiles against Ruby's lips as the other girl cooperates. This situation is troublesome enough as it is - she doesn't want Ruby to feel uncomfortable.

And since her companion seems okay with it, she'll drag this moment out, nice and slow. This girl really is cute. Haruka can't help but be fond of her. ]

[Ruby may have been a bit nervous at first, but now she can't help but let out a content mumble as Haruka doesn't let up on the kiss quite yet.

Ruby's hand hand might slip over toward Haruka's, her small fingers moving to slide between the other girls']

[ The motion surprises Haruka. Though on instinct she grips the other girl's hand right back, her eyes open slightly and she sighs, a little sadly, into the kiss. There's only one other person in the world who takes her hand like that.

She won't break off the kiss suddenly or anything, though. But when she does ease out of it, it's with a wistful, fond smile. She doesn't regret this. ]

You're sweet.

[She'll give a happy little hum when as they break off the kiss.

She'll blush and smile at Haruka's comment.flattery will get you everywhere.]

Well you aren't so bad yourself.

[ Testing her feet out does yield positive results, too. What do you know. Grinning, Haruka puts two fingers against Ruby's lips - after pressing them to her own. There you go. A bonus, indirect second helping. ]

Let's not make this the last we see of each other.

[Ruby'll blush brightly and take a step back now that we can move.]

Of course not! It better be sooner rather than later though, okay?

Naturally.

[ She wouldn't mind hanging out a bit more, period, since they did get interrupted by Ruby's noticing the mistletoe, but first they'd better get far away from that plant. Haruka offers Ruby her arm. ]

Shall we take this outside?

[Ruby had to say she didn't expect soon to turn into right away, but she had no problem with that either. She'll wrap her arm around Haruka's and smile.]

[And away they go!]

[ Haruka can afford to spend a bit more time in this charming young girl's company, she figures. At the very least, she can leave her somewhere comfortable - and learn a little more, too. So she pushes a side door open and lets Ruby out onto the patio first, like a proper gentleman.

Once they're outside, she drinks in the breeze. ]

The wind's much better out here.

[It's a little chilly outside, but far from unbearably cold, Ruby will fold her arms and keep them close to her chest to keep warm.

She'll look and nod.]

Yeah, it was getting a little stuffy in there.

You never told me what you do for a living. Are you a student?

[ They got interrupted by kissing, and all. But Haruka does seem honestly interested in getting to know Ruby better. And, far from being bothered by the chill, she's undoing the top button on her suit jacket. ]

I am! I'm in my first year at Beacon, I'm training to become a Huntress. So that I can fight monsters and help people and great stuff like that.

[ At that description of Ruby's school life, Haruka pauses in the act of settling her jacket around the other girl's shoulders. She shrugs soon enough, however, and lets it touch down. That ought to help this ally of justice fend off the cold. ]

Can you get - homework - about defeating monsters?

[Even allies of justice need to stay warm! She's a little surprised when Haruka lends her the jacket, but she smiles warmly and proceeds to put her arms through the sleeves.]

Well I'm sure whatever you do is pretty cool, regardless.

You wouldn't think so, but they certainly find a way to make it happen. Biology, history, they know how to pile it up on you.

All focused on the Huntress thing?

[ That would explain why you so openly attack enemies....Haruka's trying to picture a whole school focused on defending Earth. It's an interesting idea, though she can also think of a whole slew of ways it could make matters worse. ]

Yep. Well we kind of have to know how the world works if we want to protect it, right? There's a bit more to it than just showing monsters who's boss.

...Though that's the part that I'm actually pretty good at.

[ Haruka listens, almost impressed. Which is rare. ] Not a bad approach.

[ When she smirks, for a moment, she looks almost like that Sailor Uranus woman you ran into once. Crazy, right? ]

[For a second Ruby almost notices that connection, but she's quick to dismiss it. Haruka and Sailor Uranus the same person? That's nuts!]
