(no subject)

it started out quietly, and then, quite suddenly, you're caught in a storm. Time to find cover. Nothing much to do but to wait it out.Scenarios listed below for those who want 'em.

i WHERE:
001 PLAYGROUND - Well, you can try to hide under the slide or maybe in the jungle gym... at least you're some place fun?
002 PARK - Always happens, caught outside trying to take advantage of the weather... and it ends up pulling a fast one on you.
003 STORE FRONT - Better hope they have an awning you can take advantage of
004 THE BEACH - Not exactly the best place to be during a rainstorm, however it is possible to get caught in a sudden storm
005 WILD CARD - Anyway you want it

ii HOW:
001 TREE - Not the best cover, but it'll have to do, stay close to the roots and you won't get too wet.
002 UMBRELLA - Most conventional... Kinda boring. But it works.
003 NEWSPAPER - Not permanent, but it'll have to do. Good luck
004 BAG - Well... y'gotta do what you gotta do.
005 NONE - You know what. You're a rebel. You don't need cover. Screw convention
006 WILD CARD - that's the way you need it

iii WHY:
001 REJECTED - Welp. Rejection sucks. And no one will see you crying in the rain.
002 WAITING - For the bus? For someone else? For some revelation? What are you waiting for.
003 MELANCHOLY - Sometimes the best place to feel a bit down is out in the rain.
004 HAPPINESS - Is everything going your way? Are you singing a refrain while walking down the lane? Just singin. Singin' in the rain.
005 ANGER - WELL YOU KNOW WHAT. SCREW YOU TOO RAIN.
006 WILD CARD - Anyway you want it.

>> POST with your character
>> TAG others, use RNG if you need to, or just make up your own scenario if you want!
>> HAVE FUN.

[ They were until he started annoying her. But she knew he could afford it, just like she could. ]

I'm going to kick your ass one of these days.

[ At this, Adam openly laughed. He couldn’t even help it. The thought of that just wasn’t one he could take seriously. She was one girl, powers or not. ]

Well, that would be a first. I’d almost like to see it. Why don’t you concentrate on the asses I’m going to kick for you? You’ll like me better then.

Mmmm. [ She hummed with pleasure as she imagined him kicking some security guy's ass. ]

You're right, I like that image better already.

Well then, think of me fondly.

[ He grinned. ] And wait for my text. I'll let you know if my other contact is game by tonight.

You're getting a little bossy. [ She said, eyeing him. ] I'd watch that tone if I were you.

And no texts, only phone calls. Texts can be erased, sure but it's still a little more iffy than calling.

[personal profile] loutish 2014-02-03 11:55 am (UTC)(link)

If that’s what you want. [ Adam was still smirking, having no intention of watching his tone. It was natural for him to chafe against people who thought they were in charge of him, including people who actually were. He stood up now. ]

Anything else I need to know?

[personal profile] haemokinesis 2014-02-04 05:28 am (UTC)(link)
Yeah. [ She smirked, leaning in now. ]

What would you say to a date tomorrow night?

[personal profile] loutish 2014-02-06 03:49 am (UTC)(link)

[ That took him by surprise, and it showed on his face. Before today, he wouldn’t have hesitated. He’d have said yes, and asked her what was wrong with right now. But now he thought of Jules. And his smile faded. He honestly didn’t know what his answer would be until it choked out of him. ]

I can’t. I have—

[ What? What? A girlfriend? Jules isn’t that. Adam’s never had that. But Jules sure as hell isn’t that. ]

There’s someone. So I can’t. [ He recovered himself a bit, smirking at her. ] Shame, really. You’re sure as hell my type. But I can’t, not right now. Sorry.

[personal profile] haemokinesis 2014-02-06 04:58 am (UTC)(link)
[ Well.

That took her by surprise.

Not that she rejection was so foreign a thing, she'd been rejected by casual likings in the past. It wasn't a big deal and happened when you were a villain, but just that.... well she had kind of thought they'd been flirting.

But she shrugged it off, smiled, and leaned back in her seat. ]

Don't say not right now like it's going to change. [ She smirked at him. ] I can tell by the way you stutter over things about her. I probably shouldn't hold my breath, huh?
loutish: (Default)

[personal profile] loutish 2014-02-07 12:24 pm (UTC)(link)

[ By the way he stuttered over her. Oh, Christ. What did he sound like, some lovestruck teenager? His neck reddened and he rubbed it, suddenly self-conscious. And very much not wanting to talk about this because he didn’t know what to say. He hadn’t even worked it all out for himself yet. ]

It’s very new. I don’t know.

[ He needed to get a handle back on this. He let out some air and tilted his head. ]

Never said it was with a girl, though. Might not be. Haven’t you done your research? I’m not that traditional.

[ …yeah. His relationship was about as untraditional as it got, and not because it was with a boy. God, he needed to get his head around it all. Right now, all thinking about it made him do was panic. ]

[ She rolled her eyes. ]

Sue me for not being politically correct. Your significant other.

Whoever they are... [ She shrugged and settled in her seat, looking out the window. ] Don't let them go if it's real love. That shit's too good to waste. Too rare too. Especially if you're going to get in this job.

[ Adam looked at her for a moment. After how she'd just propositioned him, romanticism was the last thing he expected to come out of her mouth. All the same, he shrugged. ]

It's complicated. There's some people you aren't supposed to fall in love with. And some where you can't help it.

[ But he can't be feeling that for Jules. That's not what this is, it can't be. If it is, then he's dealing with a whole new set of problems. ]

Stay away from love, Mia. Love gets you hurt, believe me. I've seen it.

haemokinesis: (Default)

[personal profile] haemokinesis 2014-02-13 10:22 pm (UTC)(link)
[ She was a romantic, she just didn't think love happened often. Or would ever happen for her. She embraced lust instead. That seemed more attainable.

Apparently to Adam too. That didn't surprise her, though. ]

Been hurt yourself, then? Or about to be?
loutish: (Default)

[personal profile] loutish 2014-02-16 05:14 am (UTC)(link)

I'm not stupid enough for that.

[ He'd never had a proper relationship in his life. Adam didn't even do dating. He went on dates often enough, but rarely with the same person more than once. If he was with a person more than once, it was always on the understanding that they were friends, and that the sex was just a benefit. It never came to mean anything more than that, and if ever he got the suspicion that the other person wanted more, he'd end it. Simple as that.

But it had never been the same for Jules. ]

My sister's like you, a romantic. You don't want to know the number of people I've left in the hospital for hurting her. So trust me. It ain't worth it, love. It doesn't last.

[ Mia rolled her eyes. ]

I said I believe in real love. Not falling in love with everyone you meet. I've never felt love for anyone I've been with so trust me. I don't get hurt.
loutish: (Default)

[personal profile] loutish 2014-02-18 11:28 pm (UTC)(link)

Then why do you believe in it?

[ Adam lifted his eyebrows, looking at her with genuine curiosity. ]

If you've never even felt it, why don't you think that it's all just bullshit?

haemokinesis: (Default)

[personal profile] haemokinesis 2014-02-19 07:48 am (UTC)(link)
It's all just chemicals in the head. [ She rolls her eyes. ] If other emotions are accessible then why can't love be one of them? What makes love the one fake one? Just because it's hard to find?

[ She shrugs her shoulders. ] Besides. Kind of sad not to believe in love.
loutish: (Default)

[personal profile] loutish 2014-02-25 01:25 am (UTC)(link)

Because it's not an emotion.

[ Adam frowned at her, folding his arms. ]

That's part of it, but it's more than that. It's a roiling pit of stupid feelings all bungled into one, and along with that you've got other stupid shit like loyalty and belonging and faithfulness. It's more like an obsession than a feeling. I think it exists, but I think that's all it is. I don't reckon it's anything special. That's all.

[ She picked a napkin up off the table and threw it at him, frowning. ]

You're a barrel of sunshine. Whoever your someone special is they must be real lucky to get a gentleman like you.
loutish: (Default)

[personal profile] loutish 2014-02-26 04:04 am (UTC)(link)

[ Adam caught the napkin, but his expression was distinctly unhappy. He shrugged. ]

I never claimed to be a catch. Suppose I’ll see you around, Tish. I’ll be in touch.

[personal profile] haemokinesis 2014-02-26 07:18 am (UTC)(link)
Yeah, yeah. [ She leaned back in the booth. ] Use the phone.

[personal profile] loutish 2014-02-26 11:42 pm (UTC)(link)

Will do.

[ Adam left money on the table for their drinks, made sure the phone was in his pocket, and headed on out. Her words about love stuck in his head. He couldn’t really clear them, but he’d be walking home. He’d try to drown them out on the way. ]
