❄ it's quiet and the snow's beautiful tonight → a winter open meme ‧ post with whatever character you want ‧ responders roll for weather + scenario and get to threading ‧ ??? ‧ profit snowfall; stage i; none, streets are already blanketed in white. stage ii; very light and intermittent. stage iii; light - moderate. lasts longer periods. stage iv; continuous, heavy snowfall. stage v; the hardest of cores - blizzards, snowstorms, you name it. scenarios; ① fuck the police, this is the best time for a walk. hope you've got a nice thick coat on. ② stranded in the buttcrack of nowheresville? weren't you watching the time? now you've gone and missed that last bus out of there. or maybe you're lost, somehow. what do? ③ literally chilling, in this weather, is quite easy to do. sitting around relaxing in it is a wee more difficult, but sometimes much more enjoyable, especially if shelter can be found. the snow is beautiful to watch, after all. ④ the weather's not going to stop you. your snow fort's packed full of ammo and ready to go. those aren't snow angels over there; they mark where the poor souls you've downed have fallen. be careful with that snowman's head!! ⑤ you're about fifty miles from civilization but there's a roof over your head, so never mind the chilly draught, right? right. you mightn't be the only one lucky enough to stumble upon this little shelter, though. remember to share the blanket. ⑥ everyone stuck outside should be jelly. you've got a fireplace and hot cocoa and damn if it isn't awesome. a heater's not quite so romantic, but it'd do. there'd better be a backup generator in case the power trips. ⑦ mix and match, or make up your own ‧:❉:‧ - from krystaliske @ memebells

[Dick quickens his pace slightly, as if sensing her eagerness.

They arrive at the park only a minute or so later. It's completely covered with sparkling snow of just the right consistency for snowball-making. He makes his way through the snow until he finds a nice spot where they can work.]

First things first: we need to make the biggest ball for the snowman.

[She follows him quickly to the park. When they get there, it is just a vast stretch of snow. That makes her excited to make the snowman since there is so much to work with]

Alright.

[She crouches down and starts making a snowball]

[He keeps an eye on her handiwork, though she seems to be doing a good job. For his part, he starts rolling up the medium-sized one.]

This'll go much faster with two people.

[Once she gets the hang of it, she's able to work on the large one fairly quickly glancing up periodically to make sure it isn't too small for the one he's making]

Is this good?

Perfect.

[He stacks the medium one on top.]

Now we have to make the small one. Want to do the honors?

Alright. [She takes a moment to make a smaller snowball to go on top. Once she's done, she picks it up and sets it on top]

So this is a snowman?

Yeah. I know, it doesn't look anything like a man. But once we add eyes and a nose and everything else, it'll look at least more interesting.

Oh! So what do we need to find to make eyes and nose?

[hackingyoursensors]

Traditionally, you use coal for eyes and a carrot for the nose, but rocks will work fine. I don't think we'll find any carrots lying around out here anyway.

No, it would be a bit hard to find a carrot right now. [It didn't look like any stores were open and she had forgotten her sunglasses to hide her eyes even if they had been] I could always fly home and see if there is one there.

No, no. We'll just improvise.

Come on, let's start looking.

Okay.

[She begins looking for things that might work including a few pieces of bark that fell off the nearby trees and some rocks uncovered from them walking and the snowballs]

[Dick finds some winter berries that would look nice as buttons and a few small branches they could use for arms.]

Alright, what do you think? Do we need more?

[escapedprincess]

We can see if we have enough and look for more if we need it.

[She looks at what she has and then takes two pieces of bark and presses them in slightly to make them look like eyes]

Yeah, good idea.

[For his part, he places the berries carefully like buttons on the snowman's midsection. They'll have a super classy snowman, no lie.]

[See, she's not just another pretty face. She puts the rocks on the face to make a mouth, a little smiley face. It's starting to look like man... sort of]

It's kind of cute.

[He smiles] It's really good for your first snowman, Kori.

[escapedprincess]

[She smiles] Thank you. Maybe we should give it a mask.

[You know, since superheros wear masks to hide their faces]

What should we make it from? I don't have a mask with me.

[escapedprincess]

[She looks around again to see if there was anything that could work] We can use the bark.

[She offers him some of the bark she's holding in case he wants to work on that with her]

[He takes it and starts carefully making a mask that more or less resembles his Robin mask.]

We'll have to give it a good superhero name too.

[escapedprincess]

[She had the same idea and helps him with making a mask]

Hmm... what would his powers be?

[He thinks]

He can take himself apart to make an army of little snowmen to fight with him.

[escapedprincess]

[She chuckles at that] Very effective. Maybe he could just be "The Snowman".

[hackingyoursensors]

Yeah, that'll work. Sometimes simpler is better.
